A strong Earthquake hit the North of Japan and Tokio. The Buildings in the japanese Capital City was shaking more than one Minute. Media told that in the Niigataprovince died at minimum five people, around 500 are hurt and massive damage is to see.
We feel overall sorry for the people who died and hope the hurtet ones get healthy soon.
Tokio - The Earthqake has, that say the first reports, a strenght of 6,8 on the scale. This puts it to the Niveau of the five big Quakes which hit Tokyo since 1885. The Strenght there varied from 6,7 to 7,2. Some Minutes after the first Quake, there was two strong Earthquakes with the Strenght of 5,9 and 6,3.
The Epicentre was, how the Meteorological Service told, in the Niigata Province, ca. 250 kilometres northwest of Tokyo. It was 20 kilometres under earth.
Gouverns told, that many houses broke down round about the Earthquakecentre. Media told about 500 hurtet people and five death people; at minimum four more people are missed. Water- and Gaspipes are broken, the Electricity- and Telephoneweb are gone. In the Reports was also spoken about a Highspeedtrain not on the slides anymore. For that, the official statement is still missing.
Also in Tokyo, the Quake was to feel. The Houses in the Capital City was shaking for more than one Minute - at some places so strong, that the people had trouble to stand at feet. Gouverns say that many people got hurtet, due to Stuff was falling out of wardrobes.
Japan, which lies on the x-spot of many tektonical Plates, is one of the most earthquakehountet countries in the world. An Earthquake of the Strength six can make huge destruction, if its Epicentre lies in the near of a city.
Also in the end of August, japanese Professors told that Tokyo will have a huge Earthquake for 90 Percent sure in the next 50 years. The Professors looked, requestet by the Gouvernment, at the Earthqakes from 120 years ago until now and made a Model.
The last big Catastrophe hit Tokyo at September first, 1923: An Earthquake with Strength 8,3 on the scale made houses crash into pieces and there also was huge fires. Around 142.000 people died.
Again, we feel overall sorry for the dead, missed and hurtet people and hope that they will be found and also get healthy again. Let us all stay together and hope for the missed and hurtet ones. If you have a religion, feel free to pray for them, too.
