Hey!
I thought I'd post about a song I recorded recently. :)
It's called Dreams to Illusions, and it's part of my solo powermetal project. While it was originally designed to fit in as background music for games and such, I decided I couldn't have a song without solos and finished it off as an instrumental song. ;)

I did the guitars, bass, composition and mixing. For the drums, since I don't have a good setup, I used loops by "Drums on Demand".
Produced using GarageBand 2 on my Mac mini :P

Well, I do have rough mixes, but not full songs. I have a few more that I want to do (composed and all), but haven't gotten around to actually recorded them.
Exams have been keeping me busy.

Anyway, the rough version of "When the Machine Stops" is already done - only the final version left to do. ;)
(I added the "When the..." part so some Forster organizationw wouldn't come after me for copyright infringement. I'll have to check if any copyright still holds, though).

It seems to be very popular for metal songs to be based on books, films, and so on - a lot of mine are even about storylines from games. It seems that as long as you have a different title you're all right (Iron Maiden had trouble with their Dune song, resulting in the title "To Tame A Land", but all the references are intact.)

Yep, I don't think the updated name will be a problem. It's in "Project Gutenberg", so the copyright has already experied, though.

.it files are related to the .mod format, so MOD players should work for them. However, I've found that a lot of Mac and Linux players have trouble with the vibrato effect that I use, making the guitars sound very out of key.

Fall of an Empire is awesome! It's really amazing... it's got so much feeling. You're a great composer. I like that flute effects. Reminds me of Rhapsody :P

Maybe someday I can try recording one... The songs are pretty complex (lots of layers) it seems. And the bass is really groovy ;)
