    Your expectations
    Hello mates!

What are your expectations, reading the titles of the battering ram tracks, what ones do you think that have a potential of being a new hit?
    The best titles what are?

    I think they will be:

    Battering Ram
    Stand Against The King
    Tyranny of Steel
    Riding Free
    Machine World

    Yours? :?:

    Re: Your expectations

    Becks - 10.05.2004, 03:45

Machine World for sure, seems to be the epic song of the album.

I'll add Battering Ram & Time Will Tell !

    Re: Your expectations

    Wong Chung Bang - 10.05.2004, 12:14

I really like the title "Tyranny of Steel" - a very typically Iron Savior-like name for a song.

And with a song called "Machine World" at the end, it seems it's not going to be a happy ending... but I could be wrong about that.

    Danath - 12.05.2004, 11:34

All songs will be brutal.

Stand against the king seems to be a powerful, epic song! :D

    The rejected - 12.05.2004, 16:53

I guess, all the songs are Headshots!!!

Some more, some less, but still blowing you away!!

I hope that the melodic style will stay - some bands tend to go off it after a while, but I'm sure that Piet and the others know what they're doing.

As Piet himself said on those video liner notes - stay metal!

    I totally agree.

Yup,I know Piet knows how to make awesome songs staying metal. 8)

    Rocky Balboa - 16.05.2004, 23:06

    I think that would be:
    Battering Ram
    Stand against the king
    Tyranny of steel
    Break the curse
    Starchaser
I'm sure that Piet and the others will not dissapoint us

That won't ever happen, you can be sure.

    Arto - 19.05.2004, 13:28

I heard some songs from the promo and they sound great :D

    Re: Your expectations

    atlantis - 19.05.2004, 15:26

lol I already heard "Time Will Tell" and I'm sure most of you already have. Amazing!!! :D :D
I'd expect other songs to be equally melodic and well-structured. Definately puts the power into powermetal, this :D. Ofcourse, I'd expect a bass intro or interlude somewhere in the song to show Yenz's skills ;).
    Riding Free must be ballad.
I'd definately put on my list:

    Machine World
    Time Will Tell
    Tyranny of Steel
    Riding Free
    Starchaser

A great big thumbs up to Savior! :P

I'm looking forward for tyranny of stell, i think it would be a bombastic sound, the title suggests it 8)

    Re: Your expectations

    atlantis - 19.05.2004, 19:56

I think a lot of us are looking forward to that song
Kind of brings a science-fiction version Dethrone Tyranny in my mind lol! :D

    Re: Your expectations

    Wong Chung Bang - 19.05.2004, 20:10

=O There's a promo of "Time Will Tell" available? If so... where?!

    Re: Your expectations

    atlantis - 21.05.2004, 15:10

Well I don't know whether I should tell, but lol
It's the full song at Noise Records page, in "Guess Who??" section. It says "click here to listen", download that :D
    Amazing stuff!

    Re: Your expectations

    Wong Chung Bang - 21.05.2004, 15:13

*rushes off to Noise Records at warp speed*

    Re: Your expectations

    Wong Chung Bang - 21.05.2004, 15:20

    =D

Ace. The intro reminded me of a slower paced Seek and Destroy, the bridge building up to the chorus is amazing... I had to put it back a few times to hear bits again!

Come to think of it, the guitars sound to me more like the sound of the three earlier albums, though the added aggression of Condition Red is still there. A great combination.

    Re: Your expectations

    atlantis - 21.05.2004, 16:05

lol I haven't heard Seek and Destroy's intro, just a clip with the middle parts (DA sampler) :D I found the intro riff similar to Atlantis Falling

    But an amazing song, nonetheless!

    Re: Your expectations

    Thunderforce - 05.06.2004, 10:49

    All songs are sounding great..
    But Starchaser kicks ass

    Re: Your expectations

    atlantis - 05.06.2004, 13:25

lol Hey Thunderforce :D So I see you've already got the CD *goes all green with envy*. lol I can't wait :P

Oh, and no, I don't think Peter Man was ever at Mordor (as Hansi apparently seems to believe)

    Re: Your expectations

    Mirage.od.ua - 17.06.2004, 10:42

It seems like a whole album will be powerful. Tyranny of Steel, Stand against the king, Battering Ram, Wings of Deliverance kicks ass!

    Re: Your expectations

    Observador Celeste - 17.06.2004, 15:20

    Sorry.... I'm weird.
I've learned that somehow I always end up liking songs that are not the favorite of most, because I'm more into the feelings they're able to transmit to me. And sometimes, you listen to some album and the first times, you like some songs, but at the end, when you really understand the album thoroughly, you like best another songs you didn't have in mind at first...
    So...
I think that I'll just wait.

    Re: Your expectations

    Wong Chung Bang - 18.06.2004, 01:27

Yes, I find the same thing - a lot of the time I have to give an album a lot of listens before clear favourites start emerging, and often they're very different to the ones that I liked immediately on the first play through.

Yeah, you two are right,it happens the same to me.

    Re: Your expectations

My most prominent experiences for those would be Blind Guardian releases. I always seem to think they're not fun earlier, and later when I listen to them properly - I get the icy feeling :P Always happens. But Time Will Tell, H.M Powerered Man, Riding Free and others (I've mentioned in Wong's lyrics thread) seem to already be favorites (judging by lyrics mostly, except Time Will Tell and BR) :D

    Re: Your expectations

    Observador Celeste - 18.06.2004, 20:11

    Blind G and Digestion
    Yeah!
Blind Guardian is a band that easily provokes that feeling of "first I wasn't so sure, now I love them." I had the same feeling with them years ago... :D
I truly believe in what my friends and I call "digestion level". They consider that some bands are "easy listen" ("sticky"), some others are "slow digesting", others are "very slow digesting", and others are "The more I try, the more I find out this is not my stuff".
But the feeling is different for everyone, and depends of the band.
Same band does not provoke same feelings in everyone.
Another interesting point is that, the more years you've spend listening to metal, the faster you digest, and clearly identify your way.
Somehow digestion level shortens because your ear and your taste for music gets accustomed to metal tunes, I guess. It's weird, but funny...

    Re: Your expectations

    atlantis - 19.06.2004, 12:48

lol Yes! :D But two bands that I fell in LOVE with the minute I heard: Gamma Ray (it all began with "Heal Me") and Iron Savior ("Atlantis Falling") :D

I was taken by surprise! I've been busy with life the past few months, and didn't realize IS was releasing a new album. I happened to do a search in Kazaa a few weeks ago (just to see if anyone else listened to them--sometimes I feel I'm the only one...glad this forum is finally up) and I saw all these new songs and was like WTF???!!! Went out a few days later to Tower Records and found only one IS album in their CD bins...and fucking-A it was Battering Ram!

No expectations, as Iron Savior always puts out quaility metal!, and everything just keeps getting better and better!

    Thanks, guys!

I want to hear The Call now....grrrrrrrrrrrr.... No digipack yet. *drool*
