Iron Maiden were the ones who started me on the metal genre after I discovered their music in Carmageddon 2, and for a long time I listened to hardly anything else. I discovered Iron Savior late in 2002 and became an instant fan, so I found out about the other bands the members had been in - Gamma Ray became a favourite as well. I'm also in to Kamelot, although they don't really have the same sound.
I have one Stratovarius album - "Elements Part 1" - I didn't like it much at first listen, but it grew on me and now I recognise what Stratovarius were trying to do with their style. It's a shame about all the problems that they've been having recently (Tolkki's stabbing really shocked me, I didn't think anyone could do something like that about what is, after all, only music).

-Iron Savior(of course),Stratovarius,Gamma Ray,Rhapsody,Masterplan,Edguy,Avantasia,Angra,Helloween,Joe Satriani,Scorpions,Bon Jovi,Tierra Santa,Mago de Oz,Manowar,Iron Maiden,Metallica and Queen. :wink:
I agree with Wong Chung Bang about what happened with Stratovarius,it really shocked me.It's so sad that a great band like that one has so many problems. :(

Well, the elements pt 2 is not very good but all of the Stratovarius releases are great, you remember Destiny? Intermission? Elements pt 1? And Danath, I know you love Stratovarius... right?....

Tolkki, a mystery on it own... and I support him lol :D Anyone can have a 'fall' like his, doesn't mean we start hating them all, and stabbing is WAYYY too much! roll: Ofcourse, I was new to Strato when all this happened lol, so...
Okay, back to topic (lol in my old forum, the end posts were NEVER related to the topic lol and it made things soo confusing, and fun :twisted: lol!)
I love:
Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, and... Edguy, Avantasia, Helloween, Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Blaze, IronWare, what I've heard of Virgin Steele (And DeFeis' performance on Avantasia) and Heavenly (pre-splitoff. I still don't know how they'll be now). Oh, and Atlantis! :P lol

They are exactly what a band IS NOT supposed to be, and a BAD, BAD example to follow, in every respect.
Extremely unprofessional, they are just a bunch of lousy posers.

Yeah, I'm from germany, but I'm [trying] to learn Spanish.. and anyway: I like their kind of making music. I saw them live several years ago on the "Bang Your Head" Festival in Bahlingen/Germany.. They kicked ass! :D

There are soooooo many reasons why Mago the Oz sucks, that I will need a word document to answer you. If you want a full reply, tell me, and I'll post it anyway, I can prove my words. Otherwise, believe me when I tell you this: those guys insulted my country and robbed my people, literally, and I swear it. These people are fake, and should not be even mentioned on the metal scene; F)(<!¬& posers. Besides, I already thought they were pure crap before I had any real reasons to hate them.

Yeah! They are way cool. I have almost every album of them, I saw them in concert and I had a chat with them backstage, they are great. Perhaps their music sometimes is a little redundant, but they have a great punch on stage. "Tierra Santa", "Legendario", "Tierras de Leyenda", "Sangre de Reyes"...
They are decent persons, and a respectful band indeed, unlike MDO.

The lyrics are better on that one.
"La canción del Pirata I / II" is a REAL masterpiece, pure art. Is my favorite Spanish metal song.

Hmm got 650 cd,and 300 lpsbut 85% is powermetal,85 i listened to metallica for the first time,BANG,but right after i heard Helloween,and im a BIG Helloween fan,tooday,and of cuz I.S is a fuckin great band,the drums is just perfect,yeah everything,i relly like Evil Masquerade a new danish band (u better go and buy it if u dont have it),but else Blackmoores night is very cool

I bought "Coldness", a solo album by Stratovarius's Timo Kotipelto, the other day. It's pretty good, though not every song is a winner. The faster paced ones are the best of them.
