Hi guys, this is a question for you.
Before Iron Savior, you played in any band?, I know that Piet played in Hellowen, but Yenz, Thomas and Piesel, you played in other band befre IS? I wanna know for buy releases and listen all of you one by one.
Thanks. You're the best.

Helloweenie - 17.05.2004, 23:17Thomas
Hi,
sorry that it's me answering! Hope it's OK for you!? Thomas played in a band called ANESTHESIA before AND, perhaps you will be surprised: he played in GAMMA RAY before he left the band. :P

Gamma Ray and Iron Savior seemed to swap drummers - Dan Zimmerman (Unification) is now in Gamma Ray, and Thomas Nack was in GR up to Land of the Free - I think.
Also, Dirk Schlächter, Gamma Ray bassist, played bass on the original Iron Savior album. There are naturally close ties between the two bands, it seems.

Thank you very much!
But Yenz never played in any band?
Thanks again

Hey all, new here *waves* :D. I do know Helloweenie and Wong Chung Bang though :P (from the Noise board).
lol I think this is Yenz's first band, since the Noise website said he's "totally new" or something like that. Just listened to "Time Will Tell", and obviously he fits well with the band!

Nice to know I'm recognised, Atlantis! I knew I'd seen you before on there as well.

Yenz - 21.05.2004, 12:49A question for the band
Hey Rocky Balboa,
Yenz Leonhardt here, I thought I'd give you quick run-down of some of the things I've been up to so far, before my days with Iron Savior.
My first album dates back to 1980. The band was called "The Brats" and kinda started the whole HM movement in Scandinavia. The label was CBS, and the band featured myself, Hank Sherman and Michael Denner. Brats was really the beginning of Mercyful Fate and several of our songs was later released on the first two MF albums. Songs like "Into The Coven", "Curse Of The Pharaos" and "Dangerous Meeting" for instance.
I later formed a band called Geisha, you can check out the album called "Phantasmagoria" from 1987, if you like. The founding members of the band were myself, Pete Blakk and Hal Patino (both later joined King Diamond's own band) and Mikkey Dee (from Motörhead) on drums.
After that I had a band called =Y=. The line up was myself, Oliver Steffensen (Freak Of Nature/ Mike Tramp), Hal Patino again and Tony Reno (real name Niemistö) from Europe. We did a couple of albums and europewan tours back in 1991-1995.
I also did the vocals on Hank Sherman's (of Mercyful Fate) Zoeser Mez. The album is called "Vizier Of Wasteland (1991)"
1996-1998 I decided to get married and start working as a producer, which is how I met Thomas Nack. I produced the 1996 album with his band "Anesthesia", shortly after he left Gamma Ray.
In 1999 I joined Electric, we did an album for Universal, which was released in 2001, which is how I met Piesel, who often did the live sound for us.
2002-2003 I've been a touring member of the Kingdom Come and Lacrimosa bands, before I decided to join Iron Savior.
All the best,
Y E N Z

Wow Yenz, this is awesome!! And I thought you were 'new'. Wow, I know I should have completely checked out Sleazy's site (poor connection here). You've made a LOT of contributions to metal (started HM movement in Scandinavia, that's big, Yenz!) :D
Well, sorry again for thinking you were new lol
Oh, and Time Will Tell is amazing! :D

Not to worry, Atlantis
I guess that when it comes down to delivering the goods, the past is unimportant. You're only as good as your last gig.

Well, yes.... it's basically a new audience (well, some) and a new beginning to some extent

Thanks, yenz! wow you wrote all your life here.
You really have experience as a bassplayer, I just knew that you're great, like all the others...but....why the others never respond? thomas and piesel, where are you? I would like a post with your names
C'mon respond! 8)

OK, just for the history: I never played together with Kai in Helloween. Here's the history:
Kai and Piet formed GENTRY
Line up:
Kai - guitars and vocals
piet - guitars and vocals
christian haverland - bass
michael lott - drums (this guy today is a TV actor in germany!)
renamed it to SECOND HELL:
Line up:
kai and piet - guitars and vocals
ingo - drums
kai and piet - bassguitar (the one who wrote song was allowed to play guitar and sing... the other than had to take the shitty bass...)
renamed it again to IRONFIST
Line up:
kai and piet - guitars and vocals
ingo - drums
markus - bass
piet left the band and kai formed HELLOWEEN with the known line up.

Heh, I wonder if Thomas and Piesel did any producing?
It would be quite interesting: a former (and actual, of course) producers band.

atlantis - 25.05.2004, 15:12
 Interesting question, Aieel :D
lol even in our small little gigs (just a few friends, not Atlantis), there's always this thing for playing bass lol :P Since I'm the drummer mostly, I'm safe. lol
I wonder what happened to Christian Haverland  I found this, but it's in Czech language (?), so lol if anybody could read it http://www.casq.cz/player.php?player_id=1100

I wouldn't write off playing bass too much - there's a great bass bit at the start of Coming Home, for example.
Re: A question for the band
atlantis - 25.05.2004, 17:06
lol Yes, you're right,
In the end I do play the bass as well in Atlantis and for another band called Kadaver  (just discussed yesterday)
