    Favourite songs
We have to get some more discussion going here, and what better way than to start such an obvious topic as this one?

So, simply, what are your favourite songs by Iron Savior? I know it's a difficult choice, but...

I'll list mine as a single favourite from each album.

Protect Atlantis and Conquer the Alliance

For this one I would have to go with "Watcher in the Sky" - with the writing skills of Sielck and Hansen combined, this masterpiece was the result. It was the first full IS song that I ever heard (downloaded it, sorry Piet!) - "My soul has drowned in the tears I cannot cry" is still my favourite Iron Savior lyric.

    Unification

Another difficult choice as always - "Mind over Matter" was the one that really stood out when I heard the album for the first time. The intro features a classic Piet Sielck "Hwauugh!" as the song gets going, which I thought was a great and amusing way of getting in to it. I like the multi-layered chorus as well.

    Dark Assault

This was odd - it was the last IS album I got, and I didn't like it much at first but since then it's grown to become perhaps my favourite. The best among them for me are Seek and Destroy, Made of Metal, Eye of the World and Back Into the Light. I really like the whole idea of Made of Metal, with the Iron Savior realising that it does have a "heart" and combining with the bio-unit - there's just one thing that I don't like about it, and that's the repetitive drumming throughout the chorus.

So I would go with "Back Into The Light" on this one. It's not often that you actually care about what happens to characters on a music album, but this did it to me - I thought that they wouldn't make it because of the start of the song, but the triumphant last chorus "Back! From the void" is brilliant.

    Condition Red

An easy decision for a change - not that the rest of the songs aren't good, but the title song "Condition Red" stands out above all the others, with its great chorus and instrumental section. This was in fact the first of IS that I ever heard, on a 30-second clip from Amazon. And that's what started it all for me.

    Battering Ram

Well, I'll have to wait another month to find out!

    CYGNUS - 09.05.2004, 03:15

Nice topic, like you said before its time to start asking the "classic" questions

Well, here is my analysis of each iron savior album:

    Iron Savior

This wasn't the first album that i heard, it was the second, i have two songs that catched me, Atlantis Falling and Watcher In The Sky, i hearded Watcher in the Sky for the first time in the Gamma Ray's Somewhere Out In Space album, i loved it, then at my friend's house i ask him to put the Iron Savior Album and then i hearded the first track and i loved it. The band itself did a great job on this album, for me the best are: Atlantis Falling, Iron Savior, Riding on Fire, Break It Up, Watcher In The Sky and For The World...

But as I said my favorites still are Atlantis Falling and Watcher In The Sky

    Unification

This is the first Iron Savior that i heard, i remember that i listened it on a friday and on the saturday i was trying to find it on a cd store, the first song that i heard was Starborn, its still one of my favorites, for me its the best track for open a concert, i also love Deadly Sleep especially on the end when Kai gives an emotional way of sing to the song, Eye To Eye, another good track, it really gives the impression of a battle, Mind Over Mater - great song, and the best lyrics of the cd, the album itself has a very good atmosphere, it doesn't has any boring song.

    My favorites: Starborn, Deadly Sleep

    Interlude

Well, this isn't a brand new album, but i like to make some comments about it, only 5 tracks, but good 5 tracks, i love Stonecold and Contortions of Time, the bests of this album for me.

    Dark Assault

This one is a masterpiece for me, i remember that i was waiting for thisealease, i loved iron savior when i started to hear his songs. and the date of release was coming closer, so it couldn't be better, what a great album, i liked the "linking" of the songs, i think that this was the only cd that i listened on the rest of the month, Excellent songs like Seek and Destroy, Solar Wings, I've Been To Hell, Dragon's Rising, Made Of Metal, Firing the Guns (What a cool guitar solo) and the best of all album for me Back Into The Light, the atmosphere of this song really gives to you the impression of the final mission on a sci-fi movies, the time is short, you need to get out as soon as you can, and on the end of the song the classic "Baaackkk from the Void! simply perfect!

The bests for me: Solar Wings, I've Been To Hell, Back Into The Light

I think its probably my favorite Iron Savior album too

    Condition Red

I must admit that on the first that i heard it i was dissapointed with some songs, but after some listens this album became very good for me, the only track that i really don't like is No Heroes, i think its a confused song.
I love the atmosphere of Warrior, it gives to me the feel of a soldier's thoughts on the battlefield, Condition Red is another excellent song, the guitars are well putted, Ironbound is another good pick, Walls Of Fire is very similiar to Firing The Guns, but i like as much as i like firing the guns,
    Great album indeed

The bests: Condition Red, Ironbound, Warrior and Tales Of The Bold

    Battering Ram

I can't wait to listen to it

Ufff, the decision is veeery hard to me....

    Well,I'll try:

    Unification:
-The first Iron Savior album I heard. At first it didn't like it much, but after hearing it completely in privacy I began to love Iron Savior. My favourite track is....very difficult to decide, but maybe Coming Home,it's simply awesome,I love begginings, and this is an awesome beggining. 8)

    Iron Savior:
-The second and it really impressed me.Kai and Piet together are simply unbeatable. Almost my favourite disc(if there can be only one).My favourite song is Iron Savior. It consolidated Iron Savior as my favourite band forever. :D

    Dark Assault:
    - Another Iron Savior big hit,totally awesome.Favourite track?....Maybe Solar Wings,it's so difficult that I can't decide(as always).

    Interlude:
    - What can I say? Another masterpiece.I specially love Contortions of Time.

    Condition Red:
-For me this is the best music album in this world, all songs are perfect.Powerful, with speed....The best song in this world is included and it's my favourite,of,course: Titans of Our Time. 8)

    Battering Ram:
-We'll see in a month, argh, what a long wait! If it's better than Condition Red it will be simply unbeatable.

Favorite iron savior's pieces of true metal
Well all the albums are so cool and with so much great songs, the choice has to be a difficult thing to do but well i'll try. :D

For the first album, i would probably talk about " atlantis falling", "iron savior", "brave new world" and "watcher in the sky".

The second one is one of my favorites by far, it contains powerfull songs like "coming home", "deadly sleep", "brothers of the past", "eye to eye", "prisoner of the void" (in the priest tradition!!), "mindover matter",..... well well all songs!!!!!!! :D

For the "dark assault" album, my favorites are "never say die", "predators", "eye of the world", "dragons rising" and the mighty song "made of metal". The priest cover is cool too.

The last "condition red" would have the same treatment like the unification record. It means that all songs are great. No way!

Fight for true metal and keep it alive!!

i'm pretty much right along side what all of you said. Although I also enjoyed no heros on condition red.

    Re: Favourite songs

    Wong Chung Bang - 13.05.2004, 11:11

"No Heroes" is rather an odd song, because it's the opposite of what many bands would write about - saying that they aren't heroes or warriors. It's not one of my favourites from the album, but it's still a good song for that.

    indeed.

The title "no heroes" is also one of my favorites. It reveals Piesel's talent in composin' great songs cos' it was composed by him and not Piet. The solo in the middle of the song is kickin' asses too. Agree.... :D

    Re: Favourite songs

    Rocky Balboa - 16.05.2004, 23:00

Well anhother hard question but I'll try to answer.

    Interlude: Touching the rainbow

    Unification: Unchained

    Dark Assault: Solar Wings

    Iron Savior: Riding on fire

Condition Red: Tales of the bold or Paradise

    Wow, it was hard...

    Re: Favourite songs

    alxfzero - 09.12.2005, 13:31

    Re: Favourite songs

    Kamil - 12.12.2005, 17:33

All songs are great, but i most like: Prisoner of the void, Tales of the bold, Brave new world, Tyranny of steel, Riding free, Never say die.

    Re: Favourite songs

    Stereo_pl - 30.12.2005, 14:16

I love almost all of their songs, but if I had to pick one, it would be Starchaser, with amazing lyrics and one of the best guitar solo in the world

    Re: Favourite songs

    Iron & Metal - 08.01.2006, 21:36

As far as favorites go, I keep jumping from one album to another:

When I first heard the Savior it was Condition Red's Thunderbird.

Then I immersed myself into Battering Ram and it became Starchaser and Wings of Deliverance.

Once I got my hands on Dark Assault it was After the War.

Now that I'm rummaging Unification I'm finding myself glued to Coming Home and Eye to Eye.

--It's exactly when I think I've found my favorite song, I'll go back to a different album and discover a gem that I didn't realize was there.
