A little more about me (and about you too)
Hello everybody, here is a little information about me

My name is Diego, I have 19 years, i live in São Paulo, Brazil 8)
I'm a licenced commercial airplane pilot (well actually co-pilot) and a student of the Anhembi Morumbi Aeronautical Sciences and Civil Aviation
    My hobbied are:
Fly (of course :D ), listen to heavy metal and have some fun with girls

Well, i want to know a little more about the other fans from iron savior, i think that is good for the forum

    Greetings from Brazil

    OK then.

My real name's David, 19 years as well, I'm from the UK and I discovered Iron Savior by mistake! I clicked their name while looking for Iron Maiden lyrics, and then went on to Amazon to hear them, expecting just another modern "nu-metal" band... how wrong I was!

I'm in to computers and music writing (though I haven't quite reached Piet's level yet). Unfortunately I can't play the guitar, which is a fairly major obstacle.

I enjoy Iron Savior because of their melodic style and also because of the storyline - very well written, and Condition Red had a plot twist in it that genuinely surprised me. I can't say that about any other album I own. I'm also a fan of Piet himself because he's said that it's fun to pose and look tough and "heavy metal", but underneath it all he knows that it's just an act and has time for his fans. Hero!

Hey, looks like we have a lot of good people here 8)

I like to ask this kind of question because its interesting to know where are the Iron Savior fans..

I forgot to say when and why i listened to iron savior for the first time, i was reading some articles about Gamma Ray and then i saw about the new project of kai hansen with his partner Piet Sielck, then i wanted to hear them, but how? So i went to an very old friend, a true heavy metal maniac, he has about 2000 cds (all they original) so he had the first and the second savior albums, i remember the first music of savior that i listened was the helloween cover "Metal Invaders" and then Starborn and Deadly Sleep, that was enough for me, on the first weekend of that week i went to some cd stores trying to find any savior album, then i bought unification and iron savior, when i came home i put it on my cd player, i was very impressed, i really love and today iron savior is my favorite band followed by Gamma Ray, that's it :P

    Greetings from Brazil!

    Becks - 10.05.2004, 01:27

Remy, 26 years, from Paris (Fra).
My hobbies are mainly music & sport (soccer). I play piano & keyboards. Musically, I'm much more into neoclassical stuff (Malmsteen & Co...). By The way I'm a big Savior fan. Don't remember exactly when I discovered it, I listened to Unification, and was totally amazed by Piet's voice, powerful guitar sounds, catchy melodies and unforgettable choruses I heard. This is the case each time I listen to a new Savior album. So far, my favorite one is Condition Red and favorite song : MADE OF METAL !!!!

Some words about me, the webmaster...
    Hello to all of you,

thanks for joining the Iron Savior Forum! It's great to have you here! I also would like to welcome the first bandmember YENZ in the forum! Be sure that the others will also show up here later!

 It has been very interesting to read some words about other Iron Savior fans and therefor I also want to add something to this topic.

    Name & Accupation
My name is Harald and I come from Hannover, Germany, about 2 1/2 hours away from HAMBURG, the Savior's hometown. I am 27 years young and I am studying special education to become a teacher for children with learning difficulties or difficulties in their behavior. In my free-time I am the coach of kids in a rowing club and futhermore I often take care of children, sometimes even in daycare. http://jugend.rvlinden.de

    Music & Metal
Hehe, there also is another part of me not typical for a "normal" teacher. I started listening to rock-music of the band Status Quo, then it changed to KISS and the step towards melodic-metal came from the Helloween live in the UK CD, especially the song Future World... my first Helloween concert has been in 1996. followed by Gamma Ray in 1997 and many many other bands and concerts. If you want to read more about the bands I listen to you can visit one of my personal homepages: http://www.helloweenie.de or http://www.metal-bar.de.

    Iron Savior
I first met Piet in Hamburg at a Gamma Ray concert in 1997 and later joined Thomas and him recording the drums for the first HEAVENLY release in my hometown in the HORUS SOUND studio. I knew Thomas a bit longer, since he left the Rays and I also saw him with ANESTHESIA, the band he had after the Rays.

    Drums
Last but not least: I play drums myself since almost 10 years now. I do it non-professionally, just for the fun it makes and that is really a lot as I can tell you! It also helps me to forget about all bad things that happen in (my) life.

Okay, that's all to know about me, thanks for reading and have a cool time in this forum!

    It certainly is.

At the moment I'm a student, so doing very little real work at the moment. Exam time is coming up, though...

    The rejected - 12.05.2004, 15:51

    Ok,

my name is Axel, I'm from Sachsenheim/Germany. That lies near Stuttgart.
My first steps in "Heavy Music" were with the Scorpions, later Metallica, Helloween and Clawfinger and then my Collection got bigger and bigger and bigger...
I first listen to IS on a Sampler from the german Magazine "Metal Hammer". I was blasted away from "Firing the guns", so i bought "Dark assault". My next CD was "Condition red" and I went to the Concert in Ludwigsburg. So cool!!!!
I don't have the other albums, because of the price. About 16€ for the older ones...

    So, thats about me!

    sweet
    okay, well...

My name is Matt Arnold, I live in the united states, more specifically missouri. I have a lot of hobbies, but the 3 major ones are running, weight lifting, and drawing. I have a deviantart website right here: my dev art . It's mostly a bunch of sketches though. I am currently a student at a community college. I love anything action. How did I discover Iron savior? It was recently actually. last summer, I was trying to find some new music, something hard that could fuel my adrenalin. SOmething that would get me pumped to work out. So, i did some searching on amazon and came across 'condition red'. And 5 albums later, I'm in love with iron savior. What a great band. Hardly ever does their music ever leave my car cd player. This band has also introduced me to a whole new area of music, something different from the american mainstream crap. keep on rockin!

    Memento-Mori - 16.05.2004, 15:14

My name is Jared, I live in the US and I seem to be the old fart around here (31). I'm a big Iron Savior fan -- first heard Watcher in the Sky and that was pretty much all it took for me to buy every album (even ordered a Unification t-shirt from France on Ebay!).

I've been listening to German heavy metal ever since Helloween. That segued into bands like Rage, Running Wild, Gamma Ray and the first great Scanner album (later albums not so much but Hypertrace was amazing). The pre-cursor of it all was of course the mighty 'Maiden.

As I said I'm 31 and live in the New England region of the US. I'm a game designer and have published several games myself -- one of my more popular games (InSpectres) was published last year in Germany (check it out at www.disastermachine.com ). I even started work on a game inspired by bands like Scanner and Iron Savior. :)

    atlantis - 19.05.2004, 14:09

    Hey! :D
I'm Parimal Satyal, Age 15+ from Kathmandu, Nepal. It's been over two years I've been into powermetal and December last year I established my own powermetal soloproject influenced by bands like Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Edguy, Helloween and Avantasia. This, I called Atlantis. I just uploaded my new song in mp3 called "Alter our Fate" in the Official Atlantis Website at http://www.metalprovider.com/atlantis. (Lyrics included). Please give me comments on that when you have time.
Ofcourse, with Atlantis my aim is to introduce powermetal here... no one else knows about it or is into it (well, i've made some of my friends listen). I learnt of Gamma Ray by accident on the internet over 2 years ago and it changed my life - made me a happier person, and I would (and will) forever be one with powermetal (lol talk about being dramaitc lol!).
Iron Savior I always knew of after that and first hear Piet's voice on "Watcher in the Sky" from GR's SOIS. At the time, I didn't think Savior was going to be melodic (boy, was I wrong). I saw Unification at a store after a lot of hunting (and it's very, very rare to see something like that) and immediately bought it.
Who knew Piet shared the same love for powermetal and science fiction as I did. Ofcourse, it affected me a lot and I'm sure the name "Atlantis" has something to do with Savior.
My 2 most inspiring bands: Gamma Ray and Iron Savior! :D

    Hello atlantis!!

Wow, looks like iron savior has fans from every place of this planet, Nepal, wow! 8)

Like you i love both bands Gamma Ray and Iron Savior, and i discovered by the same way, the first album that i heard was unification

Your band sounds very good, a true power metal song

Re: A little more about me (and about you too)

    atlantis - 19.05.2004, 18:48

    Thank you Cygnus :D
lol It's a bit difficult being the only powermetal fan (and musician, if I may lol) around. As I said, I feel in love with this music - wish there were more people around into it.

Thanks again about the song  "A true power metal song" is definately a huge compliment! :D

    Wong Chung Bang - 19.05.2004, 19:06

Nice site, Atlantis! I'm impressed with your guitar work and writing - I think the vocals could do with some work, but otherwise well done indeed.

I notice you have a song called "When The Machine Stops" - was that based on the short story by E. M. Forster? Because I'm in the process of writing a song about that at the moment!

Re: A little more about me (and about you too)

    Rocky Balboa - 19.05.2004, 20:41

Wow Atlantis, it's a very good song!, the solo of guitar are incredible and the intro of the song are very good, the worst is the quality of the record but I'll wait for a better record, please notice here if you make another song, you're band are great!

Re: A little more about me (and about you too)

    atlantis - 20.05.2004, 07:50

Thank you, both of you! :D

@Wong Chung Bang: Thanks again! :P (Yes, "When the Machine Stops" IS about that short story and it actually was school project. So for that, I wrote the song in the pattern of another song "Dawn of Creation" and did the vocals over MIDI (lol it was for school lol so...). I've still got the mp3 if you want it sometime.
You're song will be great, because you're already into science-fiction writing!! :D (Hail to Savior!) lol

@Rocky Balboa: Thanks! :D The solos of the song were 'altered' a bit on the day of the recording! lol... Oh and the quality, that was a problem (and the vocals). I used my P3 Computer around 1Ghz with some strange sound-card and lol a cheap mic. You'll hear a better version some time in the future . Thanks again, I really appreciate your support :D

My complete name is Rodrigo Victor Mauricio Gómez Muñoz.
But everyone has called me just "Rod" for the last 17 years, so... Rod is more like my real name now. I am 28, been into metal since was like 17, loved Savior for quite a time now. I am a professional Illustrator, but work 7am to 3pm as an Editor. Live in México D.F., biggest city on earth, but not the best to be in... I like things well done, and people with well based opinions. Love to be alive, and the feeling of a good first row metal concert. Long Hair, lightly brunette, 1.75cm, 73kg, sometimes bearded, sometimes shaved, thin to athletic complexion, (some say I look a little like Sascha Paeth) always wears boots, have nice metal girlfriend for 6 & !/2 years by now, no smoking, no drinking, much fu+++ng, metal is my life. Hate average american concept of metal and aberrations like "nu" metal, love very much chinese, italian, and of course, mexican food, live alone, love animals, but lousy at taking care of them, hate onions... Pretty much it!!

    Hi!
Thanks for the good vibe everyone!!
    Hi Rocky and Atlantis!

    Editor of books.
My job is to correct orthographical and grammatical mistakes of teaching books about how to use software. Is as fun as it sounds (sarcasm).

And Atlantis, about the part you didn’t got a word of:

"Aunque entre nosotros podríamos hablar en español no?"

    Means:

Though we could speak spanish between us, couldn’t we?

"¡Pero por supuesto, a mí me encanta mi idioma! Sólo que creo que acá los demás se van a sacar de onda cuando no entiendan ni madres de lo que estamos escribiendo. Pero como luego "otros" no me traducen su alemán, pues je, je, je..."

    Means:

Well, of course, I love my language! The only thing is that the rest of the guys here are going to be disturbed if they don’t understand anything out from what we’re typing. But hey, there are “others” who do not translate their dutch, so he he he...

It was a joke, but we won't type in Spanish anymore, because everyone has the right to read.

Re: A little more about me (and about you too)

    atlantis - 01.06.2004, 14:06

Ah, things are much more clearer now lol Thanks for translating ;) Wow, software guides. Which software? :D

Re: A little more about me (and about you too)

    Observador Celeste - 01.06.2004, 14:39

Common software. Is a school. We teach how to use from Windows and Office, to Dreamweaver, Photoshop of Freehand, even teach how to use national developed sofware such as SEA, COI and NOI, but have to develop our own books for that purpose.

Any books I'd know? - I have 'Adobe Photoshop 6.0 - Classrom in a Book'. (Ahem, Low Price edition).

Re: A little more about me (and about you too)

    Observador Celeste - 03.06.2004, 19:05

Well, in my opinion, best way to learn is trial and error. I find it less boring to go and discover results by yourself.
Personally, I haven't read any books, somehow I'm more of a "tutorial" + "practice by yourself" + "exchange tricks with friends" kinda guy. (I'm sooooo lazy  )
Tutorials are just like resumed books, so is not that different anyway. I love shortcuts, in any sense!
