GENERAL TIPS
1. If you are hiding, never give away your position until you have a clear shot. There's no point in sooting if you see a tiny bit of them for just a second. Don't be afraid to leave your hiding place to get a clear shot, but don't run clear across a dangerous street or something.
2. Keep moving, never stay in the same place for more than a minute. If you keep moving, you will be harder to find and thus harder to kill.
3. Don't go to the same place evry round (or spawn if you're in TDM). If you do this, then someone will get wise after a couple of rounds and come prepared to slaughter you. Change it up every round or two. This will keep the other team guessing on where you'll be.
4. Talk to your team. If you know where someone is, and typing for a few seconds wont get you killed, use the team chat button and tell your teammates where that person is. Communication is key.
5. Try to keep as much cover as possible. Make sure you know your covers vulnerable points, before taking up your position, and pay close attention to these points. This is especially true in levels where there is a lot of sniping.
6. If you are hiding, frequently pop your head out (make sure you don't keep doing it in the smae place). This will help you pay attention and know where people are so you dont get owned / ambushed from not paying attention.
7. If you see a teammate in trouble, help him! Don't just sit there and wait for him to die before shooting. If its obj, even if you get the guy your teammate is still dead. Calculate in an instant whether you'll get owned or not by helping, then save him.
8. Don't croud doors! If there's 3 or 4 people crouding around one door, and a nade comes flying down the hallway, the guys in the hallway will try to run but can't because you idiots are blocking the doorway. Stay a litte clear of it so people can run past you if need be.
9. Listen. If you hear doors open or footsteps, GET READY! I know this seems like common sense, but I can't tell you how many times I have seen people get destroyed because they didn't listen for those things.
10. When leaning out around a corner, don't lean out too long or do it too many timesin the same place. Both are invitations for a sniper--if thy predicted when and where your head will repeatedly come out, or you linger long enough for them to sight in and put a bullet in your face, you're done. Look around QUICKLY, then lean back in.

SNIPING TIPS
1. Find a place where you are well covered. Also, do not go to the same place over and over to snipe, because after a few kills someone will realize you always go there. Move around a lot to keep them guessing.
2. If you're going to snipe through a window, its a good idea to ppistol whip the glass until it shatters so when you fire your weapon, no one hearsthe bullet hit the glass and so can't narrow down where you are as easily.
3. Make sure the plac you are sniping from has more than one entrance/exit. If it does not make sure someone with an SMG/MG is protecting that one entrance/exit, so noone suprises you while you are sniping.
4. If you are shooting through windows, stand a few feet back. This makes you harder to see, and you als run no risk of sticking through the wall.
5. Don't linger too long out of your cover too long to snipe or a sniper will soon notice you and take you out. Also, another player might score a lucky shot an shoot you in the face.
6. Practice hitting moving targets in the scope, as well as shooting people in close combat. If someone if an MG comes rolling over you, and you cant snipe him, you better be awsome at close quarter sniping (no scope) or your screwed.
7. Don't fire until you know you have a decent chance of hitting them. Don't be afraid to shoot; just make sure you don't waste ammunition since the sniper rifles take crucial seconds to reload.
