I am sooooo pissed! Our vaulting horse got hurt by that thing he carries around his had during horseback riding. The whole hair under his ear is chafed off and the skin is hurt, because the lether went dry and sharp. I was talking for weeks we had to change this damned thing but noone listened to me! And now it happened! AAAAAAAAAARG! I couldn't do vaulting with my children today, so I just made a game-lesson with them and the horse which is also good for the horse. But now it will take days, maybe even weeks untill we can't use him again without being afraid to hurt his wound. I am so angry! Fitchy is having problems with his skin for a bout a year now. First at his tummy (the hair gone, skin was hurt, but the skin is allright now, but there is still no hair), then his nose, then his fronhead, then he lost hair at his front legs (which might be, because he had an accident when he was younger. His frontlegs are covered with scars, but he has no problem with walking and jumping) and now his head again! I'm going crazy! I always said give him time to heal, let's change his food or buy something to protect the skin and make it stonger, but noone ever listened to me. And now that thing with his ear. AAAAAAARGH! I am so pissed! I really talked about that for weaks. We had to change this thin but noone listened to me and I can't just go and change everything for this horse, because it's not my own horse.
Also I would love to buy some oils to make his feet stronger, because everytime I clean his feet I have to be so careful not to hurt them, because his feet are so soft.
Damn, this horse is suffering! One day we wont be albe to use him for anything anymore! I'm so pissed! _________________

| Awe...Idril, give Fitchy a big horsey hug from me and my daughter. She loves horses- she calls them neigh-neighs, so cute- and I was around them a lot when I was younger. Does Fitchy have problems when he is shot? The blacksmith or whoever shoes him may be the one to tell about the weakness in the hooves. I'm sure it's something they know about, but they may just be neglecting him because of his age and responsibilities. You just need to find the right person to bitch too- then something will get done. Who is the owner? I'm sure this person will want to know if their money-making animal is not being taken care of. |

I guess this special oil you are talking about is already to make the hooves stronger - right? Well, I know when I still had my horse, we had such problems as well.
If that wouldn´t be the place for you to go to for your training and stuff, I would say that you should call some animal rights campaigner because this is cruelty to animals !!! It should be one of the basic things to do for the owner of a stable to keep the saddles and all the other leather stuff smooth and soft - damn it, it´s taking you only a few minutes - I did that so many times ... on the other hand once the leather is broken you can´t use it no more and need to buy a new one ... so they could save on lots of money by taking care of their stuff ... that is my point of view, if I would be the owner of the stable or the horse ... then for the horse it´s torture !!! I told you the story about my horse and it´s hurting me to hear that Fitchy has to suffer ... I better stop now, because it´s making me very angry and if you tell me more details, I´m gonna be the one to make this phone call ... _________________ Thanks for being a member of the NewNativeSpirit-family! |

Yeah, I'm still pissed. I went on a walk with him today and put some cream on his hurt parts.
He belongs to our riding club, but he's more or less treaten like he wouldn't belong to the club, because he isn't that good for horse-back-riding. Right now we have three people to take care about him. Me, my trainer and another girl. The other girl said she wants to take care of the saddle and stuff but it seems like she didn't or cared only about the saddle. She even bought her own head-thing for fitchy, but she's not willing to share it with us.
About the oil for his feet and maybe some creames to make his skin stronger I will take some time (probably next weekend) and buy that stuff. The bill will be for the club. It's not that I can't pay that stuff, I have enough money at the moment, but he is not my horse and I can't give my money for him, which I should use to by gifts for friends and family.
Well, the only good thing is, that his head is getting better, but I fear that wont stay long... _________________

Hearing about people who neglect animals makes me so angry. Honestly, if anything could make me seriously hurt somebody it would be animal cruelty. I love horses. I desperately wanted one when I was a kid but that dream never eventuated. _________________ "Death is just another path, one that we all must take" |

It's not that they torture him. They just don't give him what he needs.
His head is getting better. We made some upholstery between his wound and our trainingmaterial and afterwards nothing was hurt. I'm pretty happy about it. _________________

I hate when people torture animals. All kind of animals.
I read in a magazine today that a young boy was cruel to his dog and a cat. First he did not feed the dog and when the dog become really hungry he feeded him with a living cat.
It was only the neckles left of the little cat. People liks that should not be allowed to have animals. Why do they do that to animals? Is it for fun? |

I agree with you and my begal was a rescue dog. He was so skittish when I got him and his tail had been broken. He has improved greatly in the almost 3 years I've had him. I know here in the states if you are convicted of abusing animals - you are not allowed to have any more. _________________ Enelya |
