Might be an old topic, but the forum needed something in it.

So are you for or agaisnt stem ell research? Persoally I am for it, anything that can help the human race advance medially is a good thing. And not just advancing humans, but advancing animals too, if a rare species of tiger get liver cancer, we could make it a new one.

I'm all for it. I really don't understand the people who are against it.

Just think of the millions of lives it will save/make better

It's unethical or some crap, but if they legalise it, and regulate it, then they won't have crazy eastern european scientist cloning things.

The company I worked for moved to Irland, and I don't really blame them, for they got lotsa support and tons of free stuff for coming there, courtesy of the Irish government.

For it. It's not like we're using aborted fetuses or umbilical cords anyway.

Exactly, I mean, we don't have to take them all, but if the parents want to donate it to science for the stem cells, then they should be allowed to.

Superman died because we wouldn't allow stem cell research.

Dubya is Lex Luthor.

Reeve is a fucktard. Before he was hurt he couldn give a rats arse about people who were paralysiedf, then as soon as it happened to him, he wanted to find a cure for 'everyone' (him).

Same with Micheal J Fox, before parkinsons hit him, he didnt give any money to them, but then when he got it, he wants everyone to give money to help cure this disease.

That isn't quite so selfish as it might seem ben...yes there is self-interest involved, but also until you have firsthand experience for a disease you don't really think about it. Even if you do, you don't have an appreciation for how serious it is.

I feel the same way. Most of your supporters of charities for certain illnesses or conditions are victims or close family of victims. Experience increases awareness, and you can't expect someone to support every disease foundation out there. Almost all celebrity sponsorship of some charity is at least 50% selfish. Would you march in a breast cancer or testicular cancer awareness march if you had to choose one and they were on the same day?

Sorry, I'd go with testicular cancer.

On the original subject:
Norway and Iran are the only two countries governed by clergy, and of course, our Department of Health is totally against this kind of research. I loved the question asked by a reporter at a recent press conference on the subject:

"Sir, what if it was your daughter who was sick?"
*silence*
