I hope they do another film of one of the books, this time I hope it's good AND accurate. I can't believe that Anne Rice actually approved of 'Queen of the Damned', accuracy was thrown out of the window for that film. Even the little things bothered me. Lestat was supposed to be blonde, not dark haired, as he was picked to be made (by Magnus NOT Marius....grrrrrrr) because he was blonde. And from their it got worse. What the hell was up with the whole Marius thing?? Why did they change it so much I wonder?
'Interview With A Vampire' was really good...but I still nitpick on how they made Armand. Antonio Banderas is a great actor and I think he did the character of Armand quite well but they should have picked someone younger and auburn haired. That would have pulled off the innocence thing.
I hope someone does 'Blood and Gold' because I think that would make an interesting movie. I'd say they should do 'The Vampire Armand' (because it is my favourite book) but I don't think it would go down well with a mainstream audience. I'd love to see how they would portray Armand. I'd love to see Tim Burton make it too, he would be perfect for the Vampire Chronicles. _________________ "Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one." - Bruce Lee

She did not! :-O That sorry excuse for a movie could only be made because of dubious legal issues! _________________ "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

I suppose, I did wonder why she seemed to like it. _________________ "Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one." - Bruce Lee

From what I read, she signed a contract when writing the screenplay for IwtV, and in that contract gave the other party hte exclusive movie rights to the characters for a certain period of time.
So just before the contract expired they decided to see if they could get a few more $$$ out of it in the last second. If QotD had taken just three more weeks to finish, it would never have been released, as the rights would have been AR's again. _________________ "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

| I would like to see The Vampire Lestat made into a move but only if Tom Cruse reprised his roll as Lestat. |

I did not like Queen of the Damned.
The book I really want to see turned into a movie would be The Vampire Lestat.
For interview with the vampire, I think that Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt should have switched roles. That's just my opinion. |
