I'm sorry but i only have enough time at the weekend .. hopefully the most of u too .. so everyone who likes the idea of a cw ORD agains KoNL can post it here .. and ofc the guys who wanna play in the cw can post this here too .. so enjoy thx guys

Well... here's the problem.
If an ORD guy hosts, we lag to all hell.
If a KoNL guy hosts, you lag to all hell.
Either way, one of our teams is going to lag because of the geographical distance involved. Any ideas?
Also, if we do this... I have a proposal. Sure, we play a game of 0.85... but we also play a game of 0.7. Oldschool SL, the version that's tried and true and we're all good at. _________________ Clan KoNL Co-Chieftan;

It should be ok with Hamachi.
About 0.7: Donīt think many ORD guys even know the older versions, and those who played 0.7 switched to 0.8 as soon as it was out |

| Hamachi might help a bit, but it doesn't remove the geographical distance so there will still be delay. |

KoNL has played 95% 0.7 We like it.
When 0.8 came out, the balance issues made us go back to 0.7..
When 0.82 came out, the shinobi lag bug made us go back to 0.7...
Now 0.85 is out and we're playing it, but it's only been a couple of days.
To note, I actually experience MORE lag on Hamachi than on battlenet. Go figure. _________________ Clan KoNL Co-Chieftan;

Most of the clan ORD is GMT+1 or GMT+2. I'm voting for saturday, as its the day I will most likely be able to play late if necessary. Shouldn't be this week's saturday though, as next week is full of exams and I'll have to study for them. (if I bother :p) |

| Hm. I have no clue when would be best, exactly. If I can manage to go to a friends house, I could host it if need be. It shouldn't lag bad then. But I'm not promising anything. |

As far as I know, Hamachi and GGC do the same thing. GGC just has more gaming oriented interface, chat functions and so on. Hamachi is easier to use in my opinion, so I prefer it. |

GGC also gives you slightly better delay. Usually there's a 0.3-0.4 difference between the two. Also, you have the tunneling option that you can use if you can't find the host, and this function will usually take care of that. In hamachi you just have to change host.
Take my word on this one, I'm a quite active DotA player and by spending time in the DotA community and playing in serious games, you quickly get to know how to get the best gaming conditions possible. Only problem is that GGC has more compatibility problems than Hamachi does. So, my suggestion is this:
All of you get GGC. First off check if something has changed on your comp. Is the internet acting up etc. If you are good with comps you can prob fix it, but most people are sadly just forced to uninstall it. If you are not experiencing any problems though, go on and test it with a friend or some random guy you find. See if you can join a game, and you if got the time, play it through if it's a game you like, hehe. If maybe just one of you are having problems with GGC, you could connect to the host by using Battle.LAN, though I will not go further into this before it is needed.
Still, it is like Omerta says. Hamachi is slightly easier to use, and it also has a better chance of being compatible with all of the systems on your computer. |

Yesterday, on christmas eve RoboFerret, Skirn and another guy stopped by at Northrend and played a a game with me, subidubivappap and Pheonix[Fire. Ferret was the host. At least for me there wasn't significant delay, only lag there was to be noted, was occasional lag spikes, that Ferret always has when hosting, according to Skirn. I think this "clanwar"/funwar could be doable even without Hamachi etc. _________________

Make someone create a network in Hamachi that you and your friends connect to, then open WC3 and go to local area network. Games hosted when connected via Hamachi should show up there. |
