OK, I'm starting a new topic here.
What else do you like to do in your free time when you're neither listening to Simply Red nor sitting in front of your PC??? Power-Shopping? White-water rafting? Tatting? Extreme-Ironing? Gardening? ...

Nice topic, Michi!!
I like to sing, play drums, play tennis, write poetry/stories & read horror novels, not to mention bike riding & going to the movies. Geez....no wonder I'm so tired!!! _________________ J'attends l'amour qui m'attend (I wait upon the love that waits for me) |

Good topic idea Michi!!! That Extreme Ironing Web Site is a hoot!!!
OK I've got a few. I'm into all sorts of Paper Crafts from Scrapbooking to Card Making. Currently I’m starting to work on a Scrapbook of all the vacations I went on over the past few years. It’s a fun but expensive hobby because I keep buying all sorts of rubber stamps, inks, pens, die cuts, paper, tools, stickers etc. It’s an addiction!!!!! LOL!!! I love to make my own cards, gift tags and wrapping paper and give them to family & friends. They really love it when they get a homeade card instead of a card from a store. It’s one of my favorite things to do because I can really relax & enjoy myself when I working on my paper craft projects.
I also love to Garden, cook, go hiking, and of course SHOPPING for anything…food, clothes, cd’s dvd’s, cosmetics, books so on & so on!!!!! Now this is my true addiction!!!

Nice topic, Michi! And that Extreme Ironing--what a riot!!! You find the craziest, most fun stuff.
Spare time--erm, what is that? *laughs* Main hobby right now is bass playing--and I'm feeling enough confidence in it to get what the boys over at TalkBass call GAS--Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Would like to, by the end of the year, maybe, get a Jazz bass (my current is a Precision--long story as to the differences and why one would want both!), and maybe in a couple of years snag a fretless and try learning that.
Also enjoy reading, beach bummin', the occasional crossword or jigsaw puzzle. a few video games, interior decorating, and, like any female, SHOPPING. Weaknesses are used CD shops, music supply stores, bookstores, craft stores, home furnishings places--just dropped $50 on a wall clock at Bed Bath & Beyond that I'd been eyeballing for a year. (It's spring. I'm getting the "refresh the abode" bug.) |

TAKING PICTURES WHEN I HAVE A CAMERA, WHICH I DON'T AT THIS TIME.
DANCING FOR HOURS TO LIVE OR DISCO MUSIC SUITS ME JUST FINE.
SEEING NEW PLACES AND COUNTRIES AND LEARNING HOW OTHER CULTURES LIVE.
DRESSING UP REAL PRETTY, WITH THE PERFACT OUTFIT, JEWELRY AND

Yash, the Diva has a good eye for footwear. Just tell da hubby to leave you on Bond Street should you two ever go to London together.
*giggling madly* I still remember what a certain gent had to say about that hobby of yours though...
*pokes and runs*
It's spring. I'm feeling mischevious. |

Hi,
Good subject Michi, I was only thinking a few days ago about what other hobbies some of us have so it's interesting to see your post. It's great to know that some are musically gifted, sadly not me, my only attempt at music was recorder classes at Junior school. As for extreme sports, no way Jose, I hate lifts - elevators for those of you on the other side of the pond - the occasional game of 10-pin bowling is about my limit when it comes to sport. My hobbies are keeping in touch with SR friends (although this involves the PC and you asked for things away from the PC). I mostly do handicrafts - knitting, crochet and have recently taken up cross stitch embroidery. I joined a few forums for hints and tips on improving, so set up an on-line photo album as most members have, to display work done. (click www at the end of my post if you're interested in viewing the albums). Just basic level skills really but friends tell me I'm better than I think I am. I've dabbled with card making but I'm not very good so gave it up. Think that's about it really. _________________ That's all I have today, it's all I have to say.

Wow, you're all absolutely creative! I'm just too lazy for all of that Really don't have enough patience for handicrafts and sport is a foreign word to me - what does that mean?!
So, what do I do when I'm not online?!
My favourite hobby is playing the saxophone. I really enjoy it but unfortunately I tend to do other things instead (like watching TV 'till I fall asleep). I resolve to practice my saxophone a lil more and I hope I'll do so!
And then there are other things I like to do which are hobbies only in the broadest sense:
for example sitting in a sunny place in the garden, listening the birds singing while eating ice cream ... or eating chocolate (YES, I am a chocoholic!) ... or meeting with friends. |
