Weiland -- who rose to fame as lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots, racked up infamy through drug addiction and clashes with the law, and managed to bounce back -- is moving at a profoundly productive clip these days. He's just now launching his own record company, Softdrive, which has a distribution deal with Sony/RED -- and which, he tells us, will have four records out in 2007. They include: his own second solo record; a country record by Tommy Joe Wilson; a record by Something to Burn, "which is a screamo band, a cross between Emo and metal"; and, due in January, "This is the Worst Day of My Life," the first song off an album from the L.A.-based band The Actual, which Weiland calls "a perfect marriage of power pop and old school punk."

And, no worries, Velvet Revolver fans. Weiland tells us it will be a "spring -- probably late spring" debut for "Libertad," the highly anticipated follow-up to the hard rock super group's No. 1 album of 2004, "Contraband."
