IIIHR- Culture+Language Programm for Overseas Adoptees
:: What Is IIIHR? :::
In 2001 Professor Kim Young Chol, inspired by a program for Jewish people in Israel , took the inititive to found the Inje Institute for International Human Resources. After meeting American families with adopted Korean children and discussing the topic of foreign adoption in Korea he decided he wanted to help overseas Koreans with learning the country of their origin. He developed the current program and with a lot of support from Inje University and his colleagues and friends he founded the IIIHR. Since the first semester the program started many adoptees and overseas Koreans have joined and the program is getting more developed and successful every semester. More students join, more supporters sponsor the Institute and the program gains more popularity worldwide.

1. Education of the Korean language, history and culture for the young overseas Koreans
2. Promoting mutual understanding through mating the young overseas Koreans with Korean families and nstitutions
3. Encouraging affection for and understanding of Korea by visiting cultural or historical sites
4. Broadening relationship and exchange between parents and Korea
5. Advice to the policy making for the overseas Korean
6. Sponsorship for the education and support for the overseas Koreans
7. Improvement of the global role of Korea through overseas Koreans
| Programs and Fees |
The spring program starts at the beginning of March each year, and the autumn program commences at the beginning of September.
All participants admitted to the program must pay a registration fee of U$ 6 00. They are also required to teach English conversation classes for middle or high school students for a few hours a day, five days a week. The University will cover room and board including meals . The students can freely enjoy facilities including PCs, weight training gym among others. They can enjoy either free weekends on their own or home stays arranged by the IIIHR.

f you are a Korean adoptee or overseas Korean older than 17 then we welcome you to join the program and sign up now. The tuition fee for one semester is 600 USD. It includes room & board, field trip expenses and a student card that allows you to make enter the library, various facilities and gives you discounts on train tickets, plain tickets or tourist attractions all over Korea .

Daily Activities (2005. spring)
More detailed activities will be announced.
During your stay at Inje University room and board will be provided. You will live in English Town , a special Dormitory where students are expected to speak English only. All meals can be used in the campus cafeterias. You will have a variety of classes in the morning and you will be required to teach some English conversation classes to Korean students in the afternoon and early evening. Since the schedules are always announced at the beginning of the semester we cannot give you a definite idea of your time schedule now but in general it will look a little bit like this:
