The MLML Introduction (1996)
Gosh... so much good stuff on YouTube!
This time the introduction of the My Love My Life album from 1996. That same intro also appeared on the Agnetha box in 2004. As it is all Swedish I never knew exactly what was said. Now the track plus translation is here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUFm7dry5Wc
Here the spoken parts:
Little Gerhard:
Agnetha was her name, Agnetha Faltskog.
She worked for a car dealership in Jonkoping. Aha then. So I started to call around to all the car dealerships in Jonkoping, and there were quite a few, asking: Do you have anyone named Agnetha Faltskog?
And so I came across her. She was sitting at the switchboard of one of the places. So she said: Yes, I'm Agnetha Faltskog. Yes, hello I said, this is Little Gerhard from Stockholm. Hi,hi, hi, plonk!
Agnetha:
No, I didn't think he was the one who called. It was, you see, it was the world's greatest thing that Little Gerhard called me, a 17 year old from Jonkoping.
Little Gerhard:
So I got to call again. Yes, hello, this is little Gerhard, are you Agnetha Faltskog? Yes-no, is this some kind of joke, she said.
Agnetha:
I thought maybe it was someone playing a trick or such, I absolutely didn't believe it was real. Then he said, then lets do it this way, you call me instead, silly.
Little Gerhard:
Do it because I want to do an album with you. (Clank)
I put the receiver down. So about 30 minutes went by and then (RING) You have a call, Aha, I picked up the phone, then she said, Who am I speaking with? This is Little Gerhard. I see, is it really she said?
Then I said: The song that's on the tape, whose song is it? It is my own, she said. It is very good, I said, It went like this: Now I begin to realize.
So I explained how it was, that I was at a recording studio in Stockholm, and would like to give her a chance. Then I talked with Waldoff and said we must fix up the background, record down at Philips House with strings and such things. Once everything was set I called down to Agnetha and then said: Can you come up on such and such a day. She came up with her dad then and I had arranged to have a photographer at the studio.
Agnetha:
It is one of my fondest memories, when my father and I arrived at Philips House, at the bottom of the stairs there, and one could hear a string orchestra there playing my song. I think that's the greatest thing I've experienced, musically speaking, that is. Exactly as I had, as I had imagined and hoped for, it was. Captured exactly as I wanted it, oweing largely to Sven Olof Waldoff and Little Gerhard!
Little Gerhard:
She had long blonde hair and it was a little like she didn't know where to go. So she got up on stage and cranked out both songs. Then I said: Eh, there's something wrong, can you sing it differently? I can, she said, just like that, immediately too.
Agnetha:
It was quite easy for me to do, I've alway's been good with voices.
Radio Interview (Svensktoppen)
Ulf Elfving:
And in third place today's most successful newcomer and likewise making her debut on the charts. Hello and congratulations Agnetha!
Agnetha:
Thank yo so very much.
Ulf:
Wasn't it fun?
Agnetha:
It was very nice.
Ulf:
17 years old and right into 3rd place. It is probably, yes, I don't really have to ask if this is your greatest accomplishment so far?
Agnetha:
Yes it is actually!
Ulf:
Will there be any more records now after this?
Agnetha:
There will be. I have already recorded one other.
Ulf:
And it's called?
Agnetha:
Without you!
Ulf:
Thanks and continued good luck.
Agnetha:
Thank you.
Ulf:
Thanks.
Agnetha:
Bye
Ulf:
Bye!

A translation of this has been part of the boxset translation on my website ever since. In case of this track it is not made by me, I got it from a friend who found it somewhere on the internet, so unfortunately I couldn't give any credit to the translator. (Though I stated my non-authorship clearly, of course.)

This one on youtube is slightly different in the wording, it's hard to tell whether it's independent or has been ripped from my source with intentional changes to make it look genuine. I have seen other songs appearing on youtube with complete rip-offs of my translations, word for word, without giving credit or source, although the copyright claims in the documents hardly can be overlooked. This youtuber did it as well and when I complained and asked him to ask for permission and quote the source he removed them and replaced them with just slightly altered versions after a short time.
I guess there's nothing I can do about this. I leave it to you what to think about it.

So sorry Johnny! I did not realise that this was the person that was ripping your translations. I did not remember you have this one as translation on your site as well.
I am sure yours is better because I already had to change this one here and there because not all of it made sense.

As said, this particular one is not from me, the translator is unknown. I have searched the net to find an original in order to credit the author but did not find anything.
All other song translations published on my website are done by myself from scratch. There have been a number of song translations on www.agnetha.net before, but mine is the first complete set of all songs from the box-set on the whole net.
I have no objections if people want to use them but expect to be asked for permission and see my conditions respected. (Displayed copyright remark and source quote.)

'CRANKED' out both songs'????
By this did L.G mean that Agnetha sang her song less than perfectly? What a strange word to use.
