Christmas Day Top Of The Pops 1978
Hi everyone - thought you might be interested in this. In the UK on BBC4 tonight, they have just shown the christmas day TOTP special from 1978 which shows all the big hits of the year and featured the likes of Darts, Showaddywaddy, Kate Bush, the Bee Gees, Boney M (3 times!), Rose Royce, Legs & Co dancing to something from Grease and of course ABBA with TACOM (video) - it's been fab!

But the real treat was a tiny clip of ABBA dress up in the outfits from the Mike Yarwood christmas show saying 'Hello Noel (Edmonds who was presenting the show) - Merry Christmas and (singing) a HAPPY NEW YEAR!' with Frida doing a little operatic flourish at the end.

I know I watched the show when it was on 30 years ago but I had forgotten about this and don't recall it being mentioned since (or is it recorded on AbbaonTV?). Anyway thought you might like to know...

Perhaps someone will put in on Youtube soon? Although it only lasts about 6 seconds.

I honestly hope so! Does it really matter if it is only 6 seconds? :wink: Every second of ABBA is worth it.

Just to let you know, that part with Frida doing a little opera is like waving a red scarf in front of bull's eyes. :D :lol:

I hope this turns up on youtube!!!!!! As a result of this being shown, we know it's in the archives :lol: :lol: And hopefully more are!!!
