the 3 "must be " next official Abba DVD releases:
the 3 1976 TV specials from respectively Germany,Australia and Poland HAVE to be released on Official remastered DVDS:
number one: the iconic late 1976 taped "Muzikladen" best of Abba TV special: 37 minutes,10 songs an wonderful intervieuws: quintessential 70's lightiing, both Frida and Agnetha gorgeous ,young and spontaneous and all the clothes we love
number two: the 45 minutes long march 1976 Australian TV special, almost as iconic as the German one, maybe slightly less well filmed, but still wonderful and historic :Abba's First visit to Australia
number 3: Abba in studio 2,Poland october 1976.It could have been put on the Arrival deluxe edition next to the wonderful Abba dabbs doe Swedish TV special...has some technical minuses but is a great document of the "Arrival" era.
Those 3 specials are much more exciting and better done than the quite boring 1979 Abba in Switzerland from the BBC and of course the quite ill fated "Dick Cavett meets Abba " of 1981.
Don't you agree that those 3 specials could all fit in in one exceptional DVD ,possibly called:?
"Abba in 1976 : 3 legendary TV specials"
Mia Segolsson lready told me after the release of the De luxe arrival edition that she also found it a very good idea to release a remastered version of the whole 37 minutes "Muzikladen" TV special ( after they used "Dancing queen " from it) but still there 's nothing coming yet.
Time to ask again with the "Mamma Mia" hype.
Will you join me?
Phil.

For the Muzikladen" TV special i should have written of course "the early 1976 taped TV special" instead of "late...." . Sorry.

Re: the 3 "must be " next official Abba DVD releas
Well, I actually hope there will be something interesting for the Christmas business and no doubt that I really would like to have all the TV specials you've mentioned anyway, but we certainly won't get them all at once. I wouldn't waste a minute on hoping for this. :D
Some more comments:

Maybe, but remember that this was the first real 'Deluxe' edition, so apart from marketing aspects of course or missing rights perhaps I'm pretty sure it also was a question of money. I don't think Universal wanted to spend too much money on such a project without knowing if it would be successful. And there also always are people who don't like to have the same songs on one disk again.

I don't think there's any conflict between these 5 shows as 'ABBA in Switzerland' matches the 'Voulez-Vous Deluxe' which should be released next year and it's quite the same with Dick Cavett and The Visitors.
But I definately have to disagree about these two shows being less interesting:
- in my opinion the show part of ABBA in Switzerland is great and there are the early mixes of course
- ABBA sung live on Dick Cavett, this alone makes it worth to be released
After all to me it mainly is about ABBA's music and because of this both shows are very important to me.

Segments of the Dick Cavett show have already been released as part of the CSR box set. Aren't they going to give us something new for the deluxe version of The Visitors ? :?

And what about "Super Trouper"? Isn't there any show that could be put on the special edition? I don't remember an Abba special from that era... :?:

We don't have the complete Dick Cavett show yet with interview and all songs. But this might also be released at a later time of course. Apart from this 'Show-Express 1982' (Germany), 'The Late, Late Breakfast Show' (UK, November 1982) and 'Nöjeskmaskinen' (Sweden) are important shows.

To me 'Show-Express 1980' (Germany) and 'Words and Music' (UK) are the most realistic ones.

I don't want to set any limits, Phil - I would like to have all of ABBA TV performances :-)

I agree Just have everything on ABBA released on DVD. I am hoping for clips on DVD from Don Kirshners Rock Concert and also when ABBA were guests on The Dinah Shore Show.
These early TV appearances By ABBA In America were so cool
