    U.S. fans--Phone Tree Revival
    Hello all,
After recent events concerning tour dates and missed e-mails, etc., I thought I'd make the following proposal. Back in the days of the SRIS, we had set up a Phone Tree in each country to disseminate important information faster as everything was snail-mail out of the UK and we'd miss out on things otherwise. Now, I know we have e-mail these days, but I know not everyone has easy access to a computer either at home or work, and as we found out the hard way, computers do goofy things.

    So...

The Phone Tree would basically consist of one or more regional "hubs" (given how many fans we have, I don't think it would be unreasonable to have one out West, one in the Midwest, and one out East at the least), and each "hub" would have a list of numbers to contact if some good info comes along. Depending on the response, we could even break it down further and have sub-regional contacts who would have lists to call as well. We could set it up to meet our particular needs. We could also get fans involved who may not want to participate here for whatever reason. It would keep us all in the know a lot faster.

Anyone game? You wouldn't have to share your number here, that's what e-mail and private messages are for. I'm just trying to get an idea of how many people would want to be involved...

Good Idea Shannon. I'll leaverage off your posting for now. And if interest exists, I'll create a new posting. :D

If anyone in Australia/New Zealand is interested in a formalisation of the SR PHONE TREE, I'm happy to pick this up again and run with it.

I already have a few people I convese with in Victoria and NSW who don't access the internet at all, or very rarely from thier local libraries.

So, if there is a need identified, The SR PHONE TREE can be a back up to those that have internet access all the time.

Let me know and I'll kick it off again. And this might also give me the incentive to contact my existing phone tree people more often than I do. :-D

Gank away, Pat, I was actually kinda hoping you would as you were part of the inspiration for this as well. :D

If we had maintained the worldwide phone trees we had in the 90's, it would have assisted us to stay together after the crash of the website. And continue to keep us all together. Unlike having lost so many, and taken some time for others to find us here.

But I didn't think we needed to maintain the phone trees. How wrong was I?

    :D

I haven't the time I think to be of the volunteer for this position. I will always try to lend a hand for SR.

let me know what you need on my end.

    Peace Out

If you don't have the time to be a hub, that's cool. Just get in touch if you want to be added to my call list. Doesn't seem like many people are interested. That's too bad, as I know a few people on here have connections to the U.S. fans who haven't made it over here yet...like most of the Chicago 10. Especially with the new album coming up, would be good to get everyone in the loop...

Well, hopefully a link to here will be added to the official website, picking up a few people...*shrug*

You want on? Cool. Will settle up in e-mail. :-)

Michi: Maybe I should put the proposition out there on the new boards? Couldn't hurt, especially with next year being a fresh chance at a U.S. tour...
