Oh, short hair all the way. I did like the look he had in Stars ~more so when it was pulled back off his face. But yes, short is my preference.

Yeah, maybe I will NEVER forgive him that he cut his hair right before my first Simply Red live experience :motz ...only a few days before he had these long dreads but on May 18th, 1996 they were almost gone :shock:
With these shorter dreads and that green coloured suit he looked a bit like this famous German guy:

I also think that his hair-do's are indicative of his age at the time. the long fit the youthful energy and blatant sexuality he was exuding. I can't imagine him now with the long curls. He has matured and so has the hair :D

Damn it. Thought I had a decent copy of the one I was thinking of...and on reflection, shouldn't probably be posting it here anyway as it's copyrighted and all.
But for those wanting THE BEST PICS of Mick with long hair--seek out the article that goes with the above. Arena, Dec/Jan 92/93. Troy Word did the shoot. Best photo shoot of Mick EVER in my opinion. Really brought out his sensual side without it getting sappy or over-commercial. Nice threads too. :D
Now, the brothers--this is an older one of Pete but rather nice all the same:

Recent ones of both him and Steve--all the DECENT ones I have were taken by others and passed along to me, so I would need to ask some permissions first. Really, the best I have of the two is the ones Mo posted in that one thread...I'd have to find it again...
I'm not trying to be a pain and not share, it's just that most that I have are 1) REALLY outdated (10 years old +) or 2) taken by myself and/or friends and they came out dark.
I'll pass along just one--one of my faves of Steve, it's from the old fan club mag, released Fall '95. See the next post...ImageShack refuses to host this one for now...

The comic redhead is called Pumuckl he is the star of a very famous children TV series "Meister Eder und sein Pumuckl". It's a combination of real film and comic. Pumuckl is a ship's kobold and can only be seen by his master Eder. I loooooved it as a child... and secretely I still do :D [Pumuckl @ Wikipedia] [and some pics]

As a personal preference, I'm still stuck in the 70's and like men with a bit of length in thier hair. The German TV appearance prior to the tour for LIFE, may just be a little over the top. Or should I say a little too many extenstions. *giggle*
HOME probably a little too short for my liking.
That's why I like the February calendar pic. Had just a nice bit of hair to frame the face/forehead.
That is just my personal preferences. Not a judgement at all. :D :wink:

What we CAN do...Redmick's a registered member of this site, maybe either contact her here or at her Yahoo site, ask her who sent her that pic, and then contact that person!! Chances are it's probably someone who's signed on here!!!!! :wink:
I do know one thing...I got to see both last year's calendar and this year's at a friend's house--they're LOADED with pics that didn't get shared on the old forums...

I had a hard time picking one to put up, but decided on this one as they're both concentrating on the music (Tijn's listening to the Simplified version of "More" and Steve's playing it) and look like they're in their "element"...

Don't get too carried away about the pic of MIck on the February calendar. It is a personal fav. But others might not see it in the same way I do. :wink:
Who ever owns this pic has given Chris permission to post it on the calendar. I'm not willing to post it here without that persons knowledge. :) If someone else wants to post it, there nothing I can do to prevent it.
If I gave someone a photograph I had taken, I would be upset if that person, (I gave the gift of the photograph to) posted it publicly, without my knowledge? But I probably wouldn't have a problem if they cleared it with me first. :)
That's the principle I follow, in this situation. :top
Other people work via different priciples than me, of course.

In the nineties Mick looked very good with dreads. Everyone who saw man with red deads knew that it's Mick Hucknall. It was chracteristic for him. But now I can't imagine him with long curls or dreads, now he looks better with short hair.Oh, and those pictures from Blue...isn't he cute? :-D

ok after reading through your replies here i am writing my view about mick's hair.
i voted for "really long hair" - i loved his long hair during the stars-time not at the life-time. i got a big poster from the "your mirror"-shooting (for the single) from the SRIS and it is still my fave pic of mick! he's looking down and a bit to the left side, wears a wonderful dark-blue-shirt and his famous star-necklase. anyone know the pic as well? i will look for it on the net maybe Ii'll find it - can't scan the poster cause it's far too big.
when i attended a concert in london in '96 i was quite shocked cause he had his hair cut! oh my! but the concert was grand and for the first time (and sadly only time) i heard one of my all-time-faves of sr, "you've got it" (oh wait, didn't he play it at the 2000-convention as well? thinking....)
then i loved his hair during "blue" oh my the pics in the cd-inlet are wonderful....but i also like his nowadays look a lot...
hm i'll search the net now for good photos :lol: :D
