New abba4ever forum goes top level domain!
Since the Board Announcement section is "read only", you can leave your comments concerning our new name and dotcom URL abba4ever.com (-> http://www.iphpbb.com/board/ftopic-30652567nx61610-5041.html ) in this thread in the feedback section.
(Thanks to Ian Cole who reminded me the announcement section is locked for replies. I had been wondering why nobody had replied to that breaking news. :rotfl: )

Now that's a name I can remember (instead of the iphpbb-thingy)
Congratulations Johnny and thanks again for all the efforts you and your team put into this great forum.

Congratulations Johnny :)
You've kept the flame of ABBA worship a burning :) and as a Knight on his quest through the land of Tamriel to seek out errant wasps and to shut those pain in the apples Oblivion gates i stop for a moment and raise my sword in salutations :)

Congrats, JOhnny :-) It's much easier to remember. Every time I wanted to open this site at work, I was always using Google - it was beyond my power to keep that iphpb-something in mind ;-)

Last weekend at Roosendaal I spread a lot of banners to promote this site, with some help of Bonnie and Gary. Thanks!
I think more people will join this fantastic site soon!

Wonderful change Johnny! One question: I have the old link saved in my favorites and that's how I get to it. Will the old link continue to work, or should I change it?
johnny59 - 22.04.2008, 07:14
The old link will continue to work. The dotcom is not more than a forward to the existing place.

There is one thing that should be done that doesn't need time to see the daylight: in the forum index, the words "Test Run" next to "Site Community" can be removed.
johnny59 - 24.04.2008, 07:07
Hi Mike,
that's on the agenda but it's more work than you think. If I remove "test run" what indeed is a matter of a minute, the site guideline with the paragraph about miscellaneous topics will become invalid at the same moment.
So an official end of the test run needs a simultaneous guideline update and I haven't found time to do that yet. But since the guideline still refers to the old abbasite4ever name, it needs a refurbish anyway.
ullabba - 24.04.2008, 07:32
Hi Johnny,
This forum has definitely outgrown the old (but good) idea of being the unofficial follower of the old ABBA The Site, so the name change was a welcome and a practical change.
lizelovesabba - 24.04.2008, 10:34
Hi Johnny!
Always doing your best for the forum -
Missing the chats!
Take Care,
Lize.
David Faltskog - 24.04.2008, 10:56
Hey maybe you should change the name of this site too...
Agnetha & ABBA forum :D i don't think that's being used at the moment. :)

johnny59 - 24.04.2008, 11:02
You must be kidding.
David Faltskog - 24.04.2008, 11:03
Yep! :D
Thankfully this forum is a world away from that place :)
