Fan-Made Music
Hi
I like to imitate and remix ABBA using MIDI.
(Wiki page on MIDI. It can sound different on different computers depending on what instrument library you have, so keep that in mind.)
My best one so far is my mix of Just Like That.
To make this:
The song is of course composed by B&B :).
I borrowed parts from a MIDI I found (free) on the internet, arranged by Howard R Farrar.
If you listen, you can hear elements from Gemini's version (even the lyrics as a backing track)
It has also been heavily influenced by Jakaranda's version, particularly the loud baseline and drum style.
This MIDI is certainly not finished, but it is unlikely I will make much progress on it for a while (it's been in its current state for about 5 years  ). Please ignore the intro (it's mainly Farrar's - although I have edited it), it's not anywhere near where I want it to be - mainly because it's so hard to find a suitable sax sound. The verse and chorus I am fairly proud of.
If there are any issues regarding the legality of posting this I appologise and by all means, remove the links or get me to do so. This file contains no recordings, simply melodies, and I am the one who arranged it.

Feel free to contribute your own stuff to this thread :)

I like it, too. Wish I could do that too, but it seems to be much too complicated for me.

Thanks guys :)
If you're looking for a good 'editor' I recommend Noteworthy Composer for beginners (freeware last time I checked). That's what I use.
Naturally there are people who think Noteworthy is rubbish, but I find the things that they like too fiddly (Sibelius).

Lately I've been working on Under Attack.
There's a similar story to it as for Just Like That.
I borrowed parts from a MIDI I found (free) on the internet, arranged by Howard R Farrar
Purely for comparison, here is his: HRF's UA
HRF's version seemed lacking in a few areas, especially in that it HAS THE WRONG (chorus) BASELINE! How can one get the best baseline in the world so wrong..? I figured out the real one.
Seemingly endless hours trying to find the right instruments to use
A few other tracks not following the real song at times
Tiresome nights making the song line up with the real one (nearly..)
The things I'm not totally pleased with are:
Instrument for A&A
Mixing of volumes
This and the real song lose sync right near the end
There's an instrument I've heard in the real song that I haven't got. It's very rare, I've only noticed 2 notes from it  so I probably won't bother
In the future I plan to arrange versions from Mamma Mia I've heard on youtube. If Mamma Mia the Movie doesn't have Under Attack  I hope to make a cartoon fan-made "deleted" scene of it. I will of course need to mix real voices into it, which is the part I have no experience in on the audio side of things.

I've made a own mix with Just like that. I've mixed the sax version and the nana version together (and a little bit of Gemini), just download, listen and tell me what you think about it :D
Here's the download link: http://rapidshare.com/files/88791192/Jlt_snv_.rar
(And yes, I'm not good at remixing, but I think it's fun. Sorry for destroying a lovely song)

Thanks Maxi
Pabilla, you didn't destroy it! Yeah ok, some bits are a bit choppy at the start, but that doesn't matter; we can hear what you wanted to achieve and most of it is perfect :D (However I can't hear any Gemini)

A MEGA mix of the ABBA/Agnetha/Frida/Chess songs I like.
Almost 39 minutes, and it's about 10-30 seconds/song.
