Unknown part found on Parham airfield
Hello chaps,
A friend found this while metal detecting around one of the hardstands at Parham (Framlingham) airfield in suffolk. The airfield was home to the 390th BG(H) with B-17's.

Hi Denis,
Found similar ones i.e. smaller at a Mustang crashsite. If there's a thread at both ends they were used to adjust the tension on cables/rods for instance..I'll try to find it back in a Mustang parts catalogue I have.
EUREKA ! It's called a Turnbuckle
Regards,
Paul

Brilliant! well done lads, I just phoned him and told him it had been identified. I had a feeling it was one of these, although I couldnt remember the correct name either. I have found similar items in the past on crashsites.
