Another Town, Another Train
Darn! There is a sound in the verses of Another Town, Another Train that I never noticed until now, and now that I've noticed it, it's a distraction, like that sound in Nina, Pretty Ballerina that Joachim mentioned in another thread. I don't know how to describe this sound. It's in the German version, too, but it's not as noticeable as in the English version.

Re: Another Town, Another Train
Can you give us some further hints about the time? What are they singing when you notice it? I can't listen to it right now, but I would like to check it later. I love these little things. ;-)

The sound occurs repeatedly throughout both verses. I wish I knew how to describe it.

Is it the sound of the station whistle or something? I'm baffled.
Love the song tho. Always have. My fave Bjorn lead.

Is it a sound of an instrument or vocal you never noticed before or are you implying it's a technical glitch in the recording or remastering?

Throughout the verses there mainly is the piano and a little "scratchy", slightly metallic sound, a guitar I guess. I've also listened to the English version in OOPS, but couldn't find anything else. In the chorus I can notice a similiar effect as in "Nina, Pretty Ballerina", but this sounds like a flute (or even a certain guitar?) to me this time.
I guess I need more input. :D At least I know now how some of you must have felt when I tried to describe the sound in "Nina, Pretty Ballerina".

I can't understand what sound you mean...
Anyway, Love this song! My fav Björn lead for sure!

Thats interesting I'll have to have a listen to the German version and see if I can hear anything that shouldn't be there.

It's in perfect time with the music, so it must be an instrument, not a technical glitch. It begins between "is" and "dawning" in the first line. It's not in the chorus, but it begins again when Bjorn sings "I" in the first line of the second verse.

Debbie, you should listen to the English version, because, as I said, the sound is not as noticeable in the German version.

Oh, that's just Bjorn singing. He's often been described as a distraction ... :innocent:

I won't comment on this, Bruce! :D
I've tried again and yet again I can't find anything unusual or so, neither in the normal English version nor in the OOPS one. Sorry. Maybe there's a slight hall effect on the bass. Is it this what you mean, Zeebee?

What Debbie is saying is that she cannot hear anything strange so she will listen to the German version to see if that is different. The difference might be the sound that you say you hear and none of us (me included... lol) can pick up on!

I listened to both versions with ear phones and can't hear anything. The only difference is on the German version, Björn's vocals are echoey. Which CD version are you listening to; 97 remaster, 2001 remaster, CSR or something else?

I've been listening to CSR, but I hear the sound in the TYFTM box set and on the Ring Ring album, too.
Maybe you all noticed this sound long ago and now you're looking for something you haven't noticed?
