NEWS AND FEELINGS!!!
Dear Ravers,
I received the final master of "Lust Lust Lust" yesterday and it's absolutely brilliant!!! This album's the shit…
We're finalizing all the album artwork today and it's gonna be pretty spectacular and parts of it will be in 3D, yeah, that's right 3D baby!
As you may or may not know our Columbia deal is up. We had a contract for 3 albums, which we fulfilled, and now it's time to move on. Being on a major label definitely had its advantages and a few downs, of course. They treated us extremely well, I really have no complaints but Sharin and I feel it's time to go in a slightly different direction. The major label system sometimes doesn't allow for outside "help" to get involved, meaning that we don't get to choose who we wanna work with. That can be a pretty terrible thing and bad things will surely come of it. Therefore we've decided to go with indie labels around the world and only get involved with people who truly care and people who feel we can take The Raveonettes to the next level. The important territories, excluding the US for now, is basically in place and the release date will still be November 5th.
I'm just as excited now as I was when we first signed with Columbia 5 years ago, it feels right and I'm thrilled beyond belief. I truly think we have the best album and the best live set-up right now so we're totally ready to take on the world. The excitement we feel at present time is fairly hard to describe…Rave On Sune.

The Raveonettes consist of Sune Rose Wagner (guitar/vocals) and Sharin Foo (guitar/vocals), as they have done throughout this new millenium. Born and bred in Denmark Sune now lives in New York while Sharin has relocated to Los Angeles. So they've travelled far and wide have THE RAVEONETTES, the boy/girl duo who made their sleazy name with the leatherclad clampop of the 'Chain Gang Of Love' and 'Pretty In Black' albums. Third longplayer 'Lust Lust Lust' finds them in a reflective mood, but the degree of sonic mischief remains undiminished - stunned opener 'Aly, Walk With Me' sets the scene by imagining The Velvet Underground rewriting the theme for 'A Fistful Of Dollars', whereafter things start getting really quite strange.
Legend has it that these twelve odes to sex, drugs, rock and indeed roll have been carved from a mountain of melodies 100 songs high. Whatever the figures 'Lust Lust Lust' is the result of a band looking both deep inside themselves and far outside their environment for inspiration. Freed from the shackles of their Sony major label deal the dynamic duo have moved on from the greasy rider sound of their first albums and now exist in a world of deadpan eulogies and dead good troublegum-laced pop songs. They still know their history do The Raveonettes - the breezy twang-tastic thrill of the '50s still rings true, but they have their black gaze set on the modern world, too. Indeed, this combination of retropop and lush noise finds its perfect synthesis in 'I Want The Candy', which revisits 1988 by merging The Primitives' 'Crash' with the Marychain's malevolence, and the quite frankly brilliant lead-off single 'Blush'. It's a ball of fun being bounced off a wall of sound, for sure.
