    Legendary Weapons
Just a quick question regarding Leg Weapons.

Are they more effective than player crafted? What I mean is, does the elemental damage actually give you a better advantage?

    Thanks!

the elemental damage gives you advantage because of the debuff proc on the weapon -> lower resist against the elemental dmg :)

and for example -> reaver + sorc and cold/spirit weapon (dont know the leviathan dmg type right now...) -> sorc debuffs, reaver uses leviathan -> melee dmg increases because of the low resist and leviathan proc dmg increases too

Right, but their strength is only really used when a whole grp uses the same weapon (damage) type. In solo RvR or random groups the effectiveness is not so high - in my point of view.

Sure, you have the debuff, but you are also dealing dmg against resis with a lot higher value than normal weapons (melee resis caped at 26% (more or less), magic resis can be at 45-50%).

The weapon utility also is lower than the one of a MP weapon.

So all together, the leg weapons are good, but in most of the situations i would prefer a nice MP weapon instead.

Thats what i was thinking Kronos. The idea of the Leg Weapons sounds good but you can run into a nicely buffed group with high resists and actually be doing less dmg than if you were using a normal weapon.

    Thanks guys!

    1.
The best choice would be variability... 2 different leg weapons and a normal mp (28stat and 2x 9% resi possible).
So you are able to switch in the different situations.

    2.
Another point which increase the utility of leg weapons would be, that the whole group choose the same one,
like Kronos said. This will increase the chance of the proc and if the proc is activated the whole assist train will benifit.

    3.
What leg weapon I should choose?
If you focus the variability spirit/matter will be the best choice, because the most ones are resistant to heat.
But a Reaver would benefit more from a cold proc. For my Merc i have choosen spirit/matter/normal.

    4.
Study your enemy... the benifits of leg weapons will turn to a disadvantage if the enemy have resi buffs.
    Hib
    Druid - heat, cold, matter
    Warden - body, spirit, energy
    Mid
    Aug-Healer - body, spirit, energy
    Shaman - heat, cold, matter

legendary weapons are nice for pvm ... nothing else tbh ...

except of course, you use spirit ones and caba debuff assist ... (or body sorc for cold/heat/matter ... but body sorc ...)

but for a working debuff assist, the cabalist must be able to work 'free' ...

and so on and so on

legendary wapons proc not often (with a fast test i saw 1/10)

    so usually it's not useful...

maybe it could be nice for a stealther to kill some target when you watched who is your oponent... and if his armor has bonus against your dammage type... btw you have 2 wapons so you should proc after 5 hits... and often with stealthers you fights versius solo enemies or small groups so the resists are not so high.
and matter debuff could be nice with your dot... mayb i should rebuild my template ^^

i think it's nice for reaver too... your main dammage is not done by your wapon but by the proc... so 25% or 50% resist on the hit wont change a lot... but if you proc your dammage will be amazing (cold debuff)

for casters i am not sure it's a very nice thing to use legendary staves. first problem the skin is a huge lightning bowl over your head that show you in the night. the second point is that you ll have to choose between debuff or 331 DD charge that can save your life.

for others chars... i think you'll have to get a really uber fix group that plays on a specifical way... so it won't be on uthgard

We'll as a paladin im using a legendary cold weapon to be able to debuff for my reaver buddy, my dmg is crap anyways so its just a sweet bonus.

The legendary weapons are to be used as a debuff spell, aka, if u dont need the debuff for anything then dont use them.

    imo.
