These parts were recently found at a Focke Wulf 190 crashplace. For me it's not clear if these are parts of the parchute harness or simply from the seat belt of the pilot. I couldn't find any pictures of such equipment and so I'm thankful for any help. - Kurtl

Additional I want to show this part in detail. It's some good material without rust and was found close by the other parts shown at this theme.

i have one of these as well.
i have no idea what it is but mine is from a B17. :???:
it looks as though it was sowed onto something using the small holes around the edge and perhaps a chord went through the top hole.
i have always thought it might be a part of a dinghy or life jacket
i will be interested to see if anyone can ID this for both of us. ;)

On photo #1 you can see the belt clips from "Gurtzeug" (see below photo).
The little clip was fixed on the pilot oxygen mask.

@ Nils: Were there only there clips at the round thing with "Gurtzeug ablegen..." on it? I think it should be four but I have found only three of them.
Do you have a picture of the pilot oxygen mask?
@ WNF: do you know from which part of the parachute your picture is?Would be interesting to know what function that tiny little piece had.

Mig Man,
i thought i would never find what this part was.
you photos give a perfect answer.
the cable is part of the rip chord. pull the handle and it releases the parachute from the pack by pulling the clips from the fastner:cool:
thanks for solving the mystery for me and Kurtl :D
Cheers

Very good detail photo from parachute pack !
When you have a collection, maybe you can show the parachutes here in the board under "Crew Equipment" !?

Gentlemen, today I got to see the remains of a german parachute. Actually it isn't the chute itself. What you see at the pictures below are the remains of the bag where the parachute was in. It was found at an FW 190 crashplace about 40 years ago. Regards - Kurtl

Kurtl,
perfect photos ! Do you know more about the crash and the fate of the pilot ?
Maybe you can show the photos (no links) to our "Equipment" thread ?
Regards

It was told that the plane was digged out by the "Black Cross" (like VDK for Germany) at Austria about 40 years ago. The pilot was still sitting in there. I could make the pictures at the house of one that helped by this work. He told me that they was going to through all the stuff away and so he saved some. He could not remember the name of the pilot, sorry. - Kurtl
