Sun 11th Sep - arrived in Singapore after a 12 hour flight feeling pretty ropey. After a relaxing afternoon decided I should get out and see a bit of Singapore before starting the heavy workload the next day. So off we went to Raffles for a quick Singapore Sling in the Long Bar where you can throw the shells from your monkey nuts on the floor! Anyone who's been will know that you really wouldn't dare to throw anything on the floor anywhere else in Singapore! We then strolled down to Boat Quay for a bite to eat. I had a delicious (but messy) garlic and pepper crab. We then jumped on the subway back to the hotel which was fun.

Mon 12th Sep - had a fun time VJing on MTV Asia today on a show called Pop Inc. I had to go out onto Orchard Road, the main shopping street, to get video requests and dedications from passers by. Managed to get a few good choices like Foo Fighters and Northern Star! The only dodgy one was a request for Crazy Frog! Tell you what though, it got a bit sweaty out there in the streets of Singapore!

Tues 13th Sep - today was hardcore. After getting up early for breakfast radio, I spent the day doing various radio and print interviews and sound checked for my 30 minute acoustic performance due to take place at 10 o'clock tonight. The gig finally started at about 10.30pm and the bloody mic didn't work! So much for sound checking! Anyway, it broke the ice with the audience and after the slight technical hitch, it all went well and the audience seemed to enjoy themselves.

Weds 14th Sep - a lovely lie in today and then off to the airport to fly to Kuala Lumpur. We went into Radio Era for the 10pm to midnight show and did an acoustic version of Superstar live on air.

Thurs 15th Sep - Paul and Greg set off by road to Penang today, which is a 4 to 5 hour journey! In the meantime, I did a press conference to launch the album here in KL. The sponsors for this part of the trip are Carlsberg, sponsors of Liverpool!! Everybody in this country is into premiership football so you can basically watch every match on telly, whatever time of day it's being played back home. After the launch, we were back on another plane, off to catch up with Paul and Greg who were sound checking at the Gurney Plaza, a shopping centre there. At 7pm we performed Superstar on the main concourse outside Tower Records then I did a record signing. A couple more interviews then it was time to get ready for another 30 minute acoustic performance at a club called "Chill Out" at 11 o'clock, way past my bedtime! It was funny because all the palm trees lining the streets outside had posters of me on them advertising the show! Penang was hit by the tsunami but seems to have reco vered well. It's interesting that the culture here is so different but you get all the usual Starbucks, McDonaldsl Pizza Hut etc!

Fri 16th Sep - Another flight back to KL today and Paul and Greg got to come with us, much to their delight. We checked in to a different hotel in KL for this part of the trip. A beautiful place called The Palace of the Golden Horses. Managed to get a bit of laundry in at last before my clothes all got too pongy! Greg and Paul went off to soundcheck at 12si, a club we were due to play at 10.45pm while I went to the stadium to soundcheck for Radio Era's award show tomorrow. After that I had a few interviews and a meet and greet with some competition winners inside KL Tower. The tower has amazing views of the city. Anyway, guess what? The performance at 12si ended up starting at 11.45pm! It was a great gig though and the audience was fantastic. Tired tonight though!

Sat 17th Sep - I managed to get the record company to give me an extra hour in bed this morning after last night's late ending. Did a few more interviews with Malay, Chinese and English press this afternoon. Then we all went off to Tower Records for another performance/signing. Tower is in this amazing building called KLCC which used to be the tallest building in the world (until someone went and built a bigger one!). Tonight was the Radio Era Awards and I had to sing on stage on my own for only the second time ever. In fact, I'm the first British artist to ever perform at these awards. I got seated on the front row next to a lovely Malaysian singer called Siti who is a huge star. The show was really enjoyable, despite. Not being able to understand the language. The artists who performed were great.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sun 18th Sep - got up early today to fly to Melbourne today. It was a 7 and a half hour flight, which isn't too bad. Managed to get a couple of hours snooze and watched a Mr and Mrs Smith and a particularly funny episode of Frasier. When we arrived at the hotel we were pretty tired so I unpacked (again!) and got myself off to bed.

Mon 19th Sep - this morning I went in to Fox FM for the breakfast show. Spent the rest of the morning doing radio interviews and then got myself off to the gym for a while. It was at that point that I realised I'd stayed in this hotel before - how funny, recognising a hotel by its gym! We stayed here 8 years ago for one night when we were promoting the movie.

Tues 20th Sep - Another early start only this time Greg and Paul had to get their butts out of bed early too! We went into Nova 100 to perform Better Alone live on air at about 8.15am. Luckily my voice woke up enough by then. Better Alone is the single here right now. During the afternoon we performed a few songs at HMV and did a signing. The crowd was fantastic and I'm so grateful that so many fans have continued to support me when I haven't been here for such a long time. Later on I did an interview on a programme called Rove TV, which is a bit like the Jonathan Ross show. It was so exciting, I met Rob Schneider, Cameron Diaz and some of the guys from Garbage and Toni Collette was there (ow, did something just land on my foot? - just one of the names I was dropping!!). Honestly though, I was so nervous being part of a show with so many big stars.

Wed 21st Sep - after 2 great days in Melbourne we jumped on an early flight to Sydney to continue on our quest to conquer Australia! It was such a hectic day today. After sound checking I had to dash across town to Channel V for a quick interview then back across to where I'd come from to walk the Red Carpet for the premiere of Cinderellaman, Russell Crowe's latest movie. Then I had to hotfoot it to The Eastern Hotel for a performance in front of some select media, retailers and competition winners. I got to meet a few people afterwards but got whisked off to go and get ready for a performance at a gala dinner, which was in aid of a great charity called The Just Enough Faith Foundation in front of Russell Crowe. Tickets for the event cost - £1000 each so it was well posh - I even wore a frock! Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Russell though. Finally I can give my voice a rest - no singing tomorrow.

Thurs 22nd Sep - Last day today and I sm so ready to go home now. Started off the day on breakfast television and by noon, several interviews later, I was taking off my make up, getting my comfies on and packing up my case for the last time. Just a 24 hour journey left to go !!
