Spanish Press: Cesc Would Accept Barcelona Move, But Not Madrid Switch
While Francesc 'Cesc' Fabregas is thought to be in no hurry to go anywhere, should there come a time that he's willing to leave Arsenal, it will be to join Barcelona and not Real Madrid, at least according to Spanish daily Sport...
zoom - galleria Pro-Barcelona daily Sport believes that Francesc Fabregas has ruled out a move to Real Madrid in future, but would be interested in a return to FC Barcelona.
The Arsenal midfielder is thought to be more than happy with life in London at present, but the paper contends that he's mulling over the prospect of a switch to Camp Nou later in his career.
Indeed, so strong are his feelings for Barcelona - ahead of Madrid - set to be that Cesc has already told his inner circle that, in years to come, he may return.
At least, this is according to Sport, who are known for being very strongly in favour of Barcelona. Still, they back up their assertions with reasons:
They are quick to point out that this will not be immediate. Cesc is focused on Arsenal, the Champions League and the Spanish national side.
There is not thought to be a minimum release clause in his Arsenal contract, meaning that a huge offer could force the club's hand.
Cesc would be eager to reunite with former youth team-mate Lionel Messi, among others.
Nike's sponsorship deal with Barcelona would be highly beneficial to Cesc.
As for Real Madrid, president Ramon Calderon's interest in the 20 year old has been reported in the past, but Cesc is not thought to be keen on a transfer to the Bernabeu.
Sport rather fancifully claims that Barcelona could acquire him as early as next summer, pointing out that nobody expected Thierry Henry to join so quickly, but for now it remains paper talk.
