    The weekend of pain
Well, honestly it startedin thursday, when I crashed together with a guy (two times of me), who had been in the USA for a year and had been a professional rugby-player there. My face was swollen and my lower back still hurts. Then we played hockey (school sport) and my feet were always between the ball and the sticks, so at the end I couldn't actually walk anymore and I couldn't do vaulting :(

Then this weekend we had a vaulting-trainin-weekend. On saturday I strained my right leg during the first part of training (on our wooden trainigs-horse) and I couldn't do my stuff on the real horse, because my leg hurt so much. And when we made pizza for dinner I burned my fingers of my right hand I couldn't touch anything anymore. Great. Evereyone was worried what would happen to me on sunday, not to forget about me being thick (I finally caught the cold my parents and my sister brought into our house :x )

Well, sunday morning came and everything was fine. My fingers didn't hurt and my leg was ok, too.So I went to training totally happy and everything was fine during the training on our trainings-horse, but the we did a warm-up round on our real horse and when I jumped of the horse my leg hurt so much I nearly fell down. I couldn't even sit on the horse after that. And I still can't make my leg straight. I can't walk without pain, I can't sit on a chair without pain and I can't lay down without pain.
Training was finished for me
When the others finished and we cared about the horse I cared about that piece of blanket we put on the horses back, so we don't hurt it. What I didn't know: someone forgot a needle in the blanket and who graps in it? ME! So my hand started bleeding really bad.
When we made lunch I burned one finger of my other hand. After that the others told me to sit down and not to move anymore. :?

I see, I'm bad at explaining again, but I hope you can imagine what happend. It was a pretty painful weekend. My fingers are ok now and don't hurt, but my leg and my back do. I don#t know how I shall get to school tomorrow, because I surely wont be able to use my bike and I can't walk, so I can't use the train. :(

Oh dear - what a weekend! You need to take a day off to just relax and chill and recover from it. Hope you're feeling better and no more accidents happen. Rest that leg.

Yes do take a day off.

I do have an update on my friend who died last Wed. Her funeral will be Wednesday at noon. She'll be viewed from 4 to 8 tomorrow night and then 2 to 8 on Tuesday. Her husband is bringing her in her coffin back here in their van. He had her funeral in Richmond yesterday. Why he didn't want a herse to bring her back is beyond me - unless he just wanted this to be their last trip together. I saw Robin today and she is holding her own. I didn't know that someone could be showed 6 days after they died. She died last Wed and will be buried this Wed. I know embalming is great but it just makes me wonder.

Can't take a day off. It's my final school year. I can't take a day off.

It's always sad, when a person dies, but six days is really a long time. It might sound heartless, but don't they use some kind of mixture to make the dead bodies look good for a while? Maybe they used a bit more for her... :?

no you don't sound heartless we've been wondering ourselves. They do embalm the bodies and this am someone told me at work that she make look real dark since it's been so long....too they might decide to have a closed coffin. ..just open it for her immediately family here (her sister, aunts and uncles) and keep it closed for the rest of us. When she died last Wed she was taken to the coroner's for a autopsy so they probably did not get her embalmed till Thursday but still. Also something about Linda is this she always had a problem with her weight. She was over 475 lbs. when she died. She's dropped weight and added it back on over the years but she was a rather large person but a sweet one.

so there is still no word about what was the cause of her sudden death?

almost forgot and I'm drinking my coffee - maybe I'll have 2 cups this am instead of one.

Robin told me yesterday that they said it was hypertension of some sort - she could not understand that but she said the rest of the test won't be back for a while. She had been sick at her stomach for a few days. Maybe when I see Rick he'll be able to fill me in.

Robin is holding up well however I hope this doesn't put her back in a sprial down and cause her to have another melt down.

hypertension? well, it may have caused a heart attack - you don´t die of hypertension itself, but of what it can cause. Heart attacks and strokes ...

I know that is what I thought when Robin told me yesterday - I bet she had a heart attack - a sudden death one. I mean sure everything was fine when she had her check-up but who are we to say when it's time to make the journey home. Why does it seem so many young people are dying today from natural causes.

    Re: The weekend of pain

It´s because we are all stressed out somehow ... we have to worry about keeping our jobs (to have a job at all), how to pay our bills and stuff and we forgot about how to relax and although we are lazy sometimes, we have all our problems on our mind ... so you are always put under pressure. That´s why so many people do get seriously ill or die in an early age. To be honest, it scares me and taking a look at my life I have to say that I´m not on the safe side ... I´m totally stressed out and don´t know how to relax anymore ... I have always things going on and even if I sit down to relax for a moment I have something important on my mind ... I am always worried about my children, about myself and about our future. As a single mom I always do take care of my family first and only when they are doing fine I have time left to care about me ... I know what I´m talking about and once you start to feel sick and the doctor can´t tell you what´s wrong with you, you are lost. All I can tell you is, go and see your doctor when you don´t feel well and don´t wait "just another day". Sometimes we are too careless and trust in "God" that we´ll be fine too easily!

this is so true.....I know exactly what you are saying - we make sure our families are ok and then we find time for ourselves. We take our kids to the doctor at the first sign of a sneeze but ourselves we wait and wait.

Life is too short to be stuck in a rut. That is why I try to do things for myself - even if they are small things....but that's not always easy.
