ABBA the Museum - Update
Hey everyone =]
Just received an email from the ABBA museum which reads as follows....
Full speed ahead!
How are you getting on? everybody is asking us. Thank you for asking – it’s full speed ahead. Soon we will begin the renovation of the hundred-year-old building and we’re now in the exciting phase of planning for elevators, stairs, entrances, the café and a thousand other details related to the exhibition. Joining us on this part of our journey is the Stockholm-based architecture studio Codesign and the architects Peter Ullstad and Patrick Rehnberg.
Peter, on the right, has received awards for his permanent exhibition at the National Museum in Iceland, the Einstein exhibition at the Nobel Museum and he will soon open a spectacular climate exhibition in Norway. Patrick was educated in Stockholm, Milan and Innsbruck. His latest assignment was at the interior department at H&M.
Stig’s Brighton folder has been found!
In an attic we found the folder that Stig Anderson used in 1974 in Brighton. The content you will see in the museum. His name has been written with capital letters in ink on the back. Very, very rare!
Thank you for all mail!
We have received e-mails and greetings from all over the world wishing us the best of luck. Thank you so much! It’s wonderful to learn that so many people have been longing for an ABBA museum and want to visit Sweden when we open in spring 2009. We promise to announce the opening date as soon as possible. However, the date will not be announced until early next year. So be patient, the day will come.
There are also two pictures, One of Stig's Eurovision folder, and one of the two men talked about at the begining of the message.
Sounds exciting, especially as they're finding ''lost'' and ''rare'' things hehe.

Samy,
I get the newsletter too, but it didn't occur to me to write about it on this site so all the other ABBA fans could know about it, too. Thanks for bringing it up.
The opening date keeps getting pushed back more and more, but at least they're still planning to open. I'm going to Sweden this summer. I wish the museum would have opened on schedule. Then I could have seen it this time around. I guess I'll have to go back to Sweden in 2009.

The "spring 2009" opening date was announced earlier this year. It was mentioned in the May newsletter that announced the location, and I think that date had been announced even before that.

You're no doubt correct, iancee. But I simply must go to Sweden this summer no matter what.
Here's something I've been meaning to tell you ever since you posted your picture: you look almost exactly like my friend Jerry! I'm still startled every time I see you.

Didn't you already have that link then?
I mean: I read in another museum topic that you send a mail to those museum people. I assume you got that address from the museum site. And the link is from that very site...
I guess you did not get a responce since there was no update in that topic. Too bad!
