Just Like That (Almighty 12" Anthem Mix)
Released by Abbacadabra "We Love Abba" from Almighty -records :

In my opinion this is an awful dance version of the Gemini version.

I'd agree with you on that point

I'm surprised with myself. I actually liked it

I'll probably quite like it.
I think you can be too purist about some things..

Hmmm - nup! don't like it.
I couldn't find JLT at first and stumbled instead on their version of TDBYC. ABBACADABRA's description? "One of ABBA's last songs and quite sad, BUT NOT TO WORRY! We've given it a great new treatment...etc.
That "but not to worry" bit! aahhhh! :puke:

Not heard it (yet!) but it's probably for disco bunnies who take disco biscuits and wouldn't know the original if they fell over it...

Because this isn't about about the original music and 'Abbacadabra (we love ABBA)' is an artist/group on its own I will move this to "Related Artists".

I like it a bit, although the vocals are bad.
Pabilla - 16.07.2008, 22:49
I think it's quite good actually.
But nothing can match ABBA's version(s) :)

Thank you guys.
The songs sound not bad, a fresh dancing sound.

I really quite like the music, I can't deny it but what a shame they've got such lifeless, soulless singers doing the vocals. They're dead and empty for the most part! :dead:
It just goes to prove how truly rare and exceptional singers like Agnetha and Frida are!!

My copy came this morning. I really like it. Of course the original A8BA classics will never be bettered. But these 7 discs of A8BA tunes have my foot tapping. Its a shame the version of Just Like That wasn't A8BA's instead of Gemini's. But its still good. :D
Anthony.
drimnagh - 18.07.2008, 17:10
Yeah. Foot tapping about covers it. I have the original Abbacadabras and liked them for a change.
Might end up forking out for these, too.
Have they jumped on the ABBA (Mamma Mia and all that) bandwagon or what??!!
Greedy blighters! :x

I guess they can't be blamed for cashing in on the new revival. But it is supposed to be their last release. Its funny, i never used to like listening to any A8BA covers, I don't know why that has changed.
ABBAFANUSA - 20.07.2008, 05:10
I love it!! I think they could easily release this in the US clubs and chart with it. Thanks for the link, I'm ordering it. :D I've always been a fan of ABBACADABRA. I have all of the original CD's & singles that came out.
chancetx - 17.08.2008, 13:10
I too was disappointed they used Gemini's version instead of ABBA's but I find myself really enjoying this dance cover. I actually like it better than Gemini's original and certainly better than the dance version by The Webb from 10 years ago or so. I understand it's not going to please everyone but I'm having a lot of fun with it!
Even better, though, is "If It Wasn't For The Nights". :D
supertrouper - 17.08.2008, 13:36
If It Wasn't For The Nights is great too. I am loving this Abbacadabra set. Like I said before, i never used to like them, but now i think they are great. The new drive time 80 minute non stop medley is fantastic.
:D
