Lyrics to This Delicate Thing We've Made
It's from official forum of Darren

    Fear of Falling Under

    Deep into the water
    Deep into the dark
    Deep into the places
    Stories have to start
    Peel open the layers
    Go in for the kill
    Bite into the onion
    Taste it for the thrill
    [Chorus]:
Got a fear of falling under
    Underneath the dream
    Fears got too deep
    Deep beneath the seams
    Fear of falling under
    Underneath the spell
A Fear of what the truth sees
    Secrets I will tell
    Reach into a top hat
    Reach in all alone
    Reach in for a rabbit
    Come up with a stone
    Searching for pieces
    pieces left behind
    Discarded moments
In the junkyard of my mind
    [Chorus]
    What came first
    Love, Hurt
    Love, Hurt
    (x4)

    Who Would Have Thought

Nobody told you that a heart is like a deep, deep freeze,
So many lies, so much of it broken.
And nobody told you deep within a well so cavernous,
That maybe I could shed some light on...

Who would have thought it could be amazing?
Who would have thought the tiny courageous?
Who would have thought that love so belated,
could save me, and bring me back to you.

And nobody told you there'd be days of silence that no one heard,
A river swells and overwhelms ya,
and nobody told you deep within a heart so ravenous,
that maybe I could spare a beat for...

Who would have thought it could be amazing?
Who would have thought the tiny courageous?
Who would have thought that love so belated,
could save me, and bring me back to you.

I had to find you, had to let you know,
that you aren't alone, we didn't make the the rules,
I had to find you, had to get right back...to you...

I had to find you, had to let you know,
that you aren't alone, we didn't make the the rules,
I had to find you, had to get right back to you...
    It's always been you...
    now, tell me...

Who would have thought it could be this amazing?
Who would have thought the tiny courageous?
    Tell me...
Who would have thought that love so belated,
could save me, and bring me back to you.

    Waking the Monster

    The professor is building
    Something extraordinary
    From the first signs
Well I knew he would hide it from me
    Clang, clang, rattle, and buzz
    There's a helicopter blade
And a bit of a truck
He's got no more quality time
    To be going on adventures
    Spending mornings on black keys
    Using the board
    Or finding him in places
That have never been sorta brave
    Origami full of grace
    The professor is mad
And he's working a feverish pace
    Diabolical delicious things
    Something is bad
    And it's something within me
    Do you know?
    Do you know?
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta see
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta be
    Something destructively daring
Dastardly it's got the best of me
    The professor is building
    All kinds of devilish device
    There's one part
With a singular bit of light
    Bang, crash, glitter, and bug
    There's a phonographic needle
    And a stereo heart
He's got no plans to make an announcement
    No preliminary sketches
Or advice to impart in me
    One ounce of jealousy
    Fifty-seven gallons juvenile delinquency
    Super supremacy
    I've gotta find an answer
    Gotta fashion a skeleton key
    Diabolical delicious deeds
    Something's bad
    And it's shrouded of secrecy
    Do you know?
    Do you know?
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta see
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta be
    Something destructively daring
Dastardly it's got the best of me
    (There are very few dimensions
Three...which we call the three planes of space
    And a fourth
    Time)
    The professor is building
    Something extraordinary
    Behind bars
And a door he won't open for me
Kind words and the barrel of a gun
Will make him come to grips
Make him face up to what he's done
    Do you know?
    Do you know?
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta see
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta be
    Something destructively daring
Dastardly it's got the best of me
    Do you know?
    Do you know?
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta see
What is he building in there?
    Gotta know
    Gotta be
    Something destructively daring
Dastardly it's got the best of me

How To Build A Time Machine

    If I have understood correctly,
Velocity equals the distance traveled devided by time
I've read every word ever printed on Quantum Phisics
Now It is Time To Try.
    I read your book,
    I found your notes
I dusted this thing off and turned on the key
    The Rumbling Motors,
    The buzzing,
    Incredible gadgets,
    The hissing Electricity

And now, the moment has come.
    I'm traveling back in time.

    They're running down the hall
    I've started the countdown
    They want me to stop!
    But i don't think so.
    I'm ready to go.
    Let's get the job done.

    Beyond the Paradoxial
    All the lights are dazzling
Past the Planes and Trains and Satellite Navigation.
Past the time i've spent today
    Through the nearest wormhole
In a stunning ball of white light
That explodes and lands on you.

    And you're five,
Allways running away when i was dying to kiss you.
    And I, I don't want to cry
I don't want to see where the moving van takes you.
    So i travel on
    Beyond the stars
At one hundred and eighty six thousand miles per seconds i can fly.
Forward a few years to Nineteen hundred seventy nine
I caught a glimpse of the sky.

    They're coming down the road
    They're coming to get me
    I never should have come
    I hide the time machine
    I'm running down the hall
I think i'm in my own house

Past the place where I grew up,
    Number Nine Lale Road
    Past the swimming pool
    And marbel park
    And past troy Clifford's house
    To the to the argonaut
To the fish and chip Shop

Out the back and down the road
To the place i got beat up

    Hey! Put That Rock Down!
Can't you see he's half your size
    Hey! He look's familiar
    Oh My God it's me!aged 9
    Put your shoes on and,
    Run away from here
    I can't get involved
    This is all so weird
    I am meeting myself,
    This is all so clear.

all the things i lost.all the people i hurt.
all the times i lied.all the moments wasted.
all i never did.all the dreams i had.
all the things i would change.i can change.
all the things i lost.all the people i hurt.
all the times i lied. all the moments wasted.

im gonna make it right what i did wrong
and change how the future has gone
through the appliance of science ill take hold.
    of my enemies.take their obsancities
kiss them and leave them like the lovers who have gone.
ill call my dad and tell him imiss him and tell my reflection thats its not your fault.
and now the moment has come.
    im traveling back in time.

    there running down the hall
    ive started the countdown
they want me to stop.but i dont thinkso
im ready to let go.lets get the job done.

put your shoes ona nd run away from here
icant get involved this is all so wierd.

oh my god its me aged 9
    lets get the job done

all the things i lost.all the people i hurt.
all the times i lied.all the moments wasted.
all i never did.all the dreams i had.
all the things i would change.i can change.

    Beyond the Paradoxial
    All the lights are dazzling
Past the Planes and Trains and Satellite Navigation.past the time i spent today through the nearest wormhole.
in a stunning ball of white light explodes into another moment

    Casey

    Driving in your car
    With the windows down
    And a beat-up stereo
    Struggle with this town
Cause you love to hate it
But hate to let it go
    And we’re all alone
And so tired of being underrated
    So don’t take me home
Cause I feel life when you come and save
A yellow car speeding down a south-side freeway
    When you write this movie
Make it end like we wanted to

    And Casey, when you go
Can you come and find me?
I wanna be beside you when you leave this town
I’ll be waving goodbye pretending not to cry
    I wanna be someone
If you take me away all the pain will change
    Into a memory
    When we were amazing

1989, somewhere had hit but it was not moving
What is it with this town?
Everytime I win it just feels like loosing
We would never gonna fit in
    I was a mixed-up kid
    And you were my sanity
    And a yellow car
We don’t even have to go far
    Cause that song you’re playing
    Soundslike peace on the radio

    And Casey, when you go
Can you come and find me?
I wanna be beside you when you leave this town
I’ll be waving goodbye pretending not to cry
    I wanna be someone
If you take me away all the pain will change
    Into a memory
    When we were amazing
    When we were amazing

    I know things will change
    Can’t you stay the same?
    Take me away
Ohh, we don’t have to go far
We don’t have to go far
    I know…

    Ohh
    Casey, when you go
Can you come and find me?
I wanna be beside you when you leave this town
I’ll be waving goodbye pretending not to cry
    I wanna be someone
If you take me away all the pain will change
    Into a memory
    When we were…
    When we were…

    Casey, when you go
Can you come and find me?
I wanna be beside you when you leave this town
I’ll be waving goodbye pretending not to cry
I wanna be someone (I wanna be someone)
If you take me away all the pain will change
    Into a memory
    When we were amazing
    When we…

    Driving in your car
    With the windows down
    And a beated-up stereo
    Ohh…

    I wanna…
    I’m gonna…
    I wanna be someone

    I wanna…
    I’m gonna…
    I wanna be someone

    I want you
    I will come to you
    I want you
    I will come to you

    Just come and get me
    Just come and rescue me

    I want you
    I will come to you
    I want you
    I will come to you

Coming throught the sky like a satellite
    Like a radio wave
    A meteorite

    Step Into The Light

I have turned away from you,
    and I am god-less.
    A wasteland of poison;
    a hidden fortress.

I have blackened out the stars,
    and hidden frequencies.
I have silenced all the waves,
    and forbidden secrecies.

    Chorus:
    Just step into your light.
This dog doesn’t bite - no.
I just want to be your friend,
you know, I’ve never been in love before.
I’ve never been in love before.

    -Ohh ohh ohh-

There is nothing of you, now,
No ghost, no, not a trace.
No flower, not a seed nor perfume, in your place.
I have searched amidst a barren plain of emptiness.

    And I am worthless.
    It is futile.
    You’re invisible.
    I am infantile.

    Chorus:
Step into the light - oh.
    This dog doesn’t bite -yo.
    Just wanna be your friend,
You know, I’ve never been in love before.
I’ve never been in love before.

    -Ohh oh ohh-

    I have murdered the divine in me;
    set the godness free,

    I have squandered it all.
    Like less than the sum,
    I am parts of a whole;
    there is something missing,
    There is something I stole
    (There is something I stole…)

    Why have you forsaken me?
    Where do you hide?
    I feel the betrayal
    simmers, it blisters,
    it digs downand burrows,
    deeper inside,
    the more that I try,
    I cannot deny it.

    It feels like
    It feels like
    (I’ve never been..)
    It feels like
(I’ve never been in love before..)
I’ve never been in love before.

    It feels like
(I’ve never been in love before..)
    It feels like
(I’ve never been in love before..)
    It feels like
    (love..)

Step into the light - oh.
This dog doesn’t bite - no.
    Just wanna be your friend,
You know that I’ve never been in love before,
    (love before..)

Just a step into the light -oh.
You know that this dog doesn’t bite - no.
    Take hold of my hand
You know that I’ve never been in love before,
    -Oohhhhhh-

    Sing To Me

    You step behind a curtain
    In a moment you're gone
    And nothing's ever certain
And it's hard to carry on

This is not what we planned
And I know it's hard to understand
But if this is what you want then
If this is what you need
Pry my fingers from your hand

    Chorus:
Maybe it's just meant to be
Maybe you'll find a way to haunt me
Come back and sing a melody to me
Maybe we're just lost at sea
Maybe I'm holding on to driftwood
And I'll be alright if you could sing to me
    Oh oh ooh
    Sing to me
    Oh oh ooh

    You step beneath the landslide
Nothing feels right when you're wrong
And try to find an upside
Try to sing without a song

This is not what we planned
And I know it's hard to understand
But if this is what you want then

    (Chorus)

I keep seeing flashes of your hands
When I close my eyes and I don't know why
    And I don't know why
Well help me make sense of what I don't understand
    'Cause I gotta know why
    I gotta know why
Tell me why do you sing to me

Maybe it's just meant to be
That you would sing to me
Maybe I'm just lost at sea
Could you come sing for me

Maybe it's just meant to be
Maybe we're just lost at sea
Could you come sing for me

    Oh oh ooh
    Sing to me
    Oh oh ooh

    A Conversation With God

    We're driving
    Just me and God
    It's raining
    It's raining hard
    The windows are steaming up
    The bridge engulfed by fog
    The rust of
    The metal bridge
    It beckons
    It blows me in
    I argue
I scream at God and what he's offering

    [Chorus]:
My hands fly off the steering wheel
    Can't recall getting here
If I could I would reach behind and turn my light on
My thoughts run off the beaten track
    There's no light
    How's the way back
    Take the hand of God
    And bite the feeder
    No more lingering

    I'm driving
    I talk to God
    He's screaming
    I only nod
    I need to
    Be where you are
The leaves and trees are shaking
    It's raining

    The bullets melt
    The hunger of hunger itself
It's draining but pain hasn't reservoirs
    It keeps for itself

    [Chorus]

    I'm falling
    I'm not myself
    I'm diving
    I'm underneath
    The huddle of
    A mighty ship
    That steams away from here
    The bubbles
    The surface waves
    They're shining
    They replicate
    I hear it
The voice of God is laced with sarcasm in your head

My thoughts run off the beaten track
    There's no light
    How's the way back
    Take the hand of God
    And bite the feeder
    No more lingering

My hands fly off the steering wheel
    Can't recall getting here
If I could I would reach behind and turn my light on

The Sun Is Always Blinding Me

From the top of a church on a hill,
To the tip of a dragonfly wing.
From the shine off the hood of a cab.
To a shimmering diamond within on a ring
That was worn through two world wars.
From a smile that soars through its old and worn
And two blue eyes forever seeming cold.

    (Chorus)
The sun is always blinding me with her light
The Day is always hiding behind the night
And one day everybody will be alright
Go on blinding me with her light

From the glare of a red traffic light.
To the blur of a bicycle wheel
From the flare of a camera lens
To a fluorescent light that ignites and displays
    Someone leaving a goodbye note
From a pen made of steel and the reflection of hope.

And to some words to stir an aching soul.

The sun is always blinding me with her light
The Day is always hiding behind the night
And one day everybody will be alright
Go on blinding me with her light from a fire that burns in the darkest well of a cave so enslaved
    I can hear her yell
I can tell this bird just wants to be free.

    So set her free

And if this world should ever leave you cold.

The sun is always blinding me with her light
The Day is always hiding behind the night
And one day everybody will be alright
Go on blinding me with her light

    It’s going to be alright

    Listen All You People

    Listen All You People
    Listen all you people
    All you lonely and deserted
The departed and the broken hearted
    I’ve got time for you
    You can call your friends
For we’re heading on a journey

    All the lonely, the mad
All the bad and the sad, got a message for you
    Nothing’s peaches and cream
    Nothing’s quite what it seems
    They’ve been lying to you

All you unhappy wives, all you pregnant brides
All you geeks and you queens
All you sick and you poor, all the drunks on the floor
    Well I’m calling to you

    Oh, listen all you people
    All you lonely and deserted
The departed and the broken hearted
    I’ve got time for you
    You can call your friends
For we’re heading on a journey
    We’ve been held down
We’ve been pushed down now we’re through

All the freaks, all the queers
All the phobes, all the steers
Well its time to give in
There’s a crack in the door
    It’s ok to want more
    You’ve been dying for years

    All the races you lost
All the loveless that cost you the heart on your sleeve
    All the stifled reactions
The screams you’ve been acting like no one can hear you

    Oh, listen all you people
    All you lonely and deserted
The departed and the broken hearted
    I’ve got time for you

Sending out a message gotta get to you
Sending out a message is it coming through
Sending out a message gotta get to you
Sending out a message is it coming through

    Listen all you people
    All you lonely and deserted

    Listen all you people
    All you lonely and deserted
    We’ve been held down
We’ve been pushed down now we’re through

    The Only One

    In a world so cynical
You came in and changed the ball
    From black to white
    And made me alright
    This is all so typical
No one else has had the time to read the signs

    [Chorus]:
    You are the only one
And no one else can keep me from
    The danger of myself
    You keep me stronger
    You are the only one
And now I love you even more
    Than I did before

    After such a jealous side

Reaching out I tried to hide
    My infant strive
And in my mind this is all so prototype
I make it wrong to make it feel right
    Don't deny it

    [Chorus]

And when they make the call
    For one last drink
    When my self-esteem sinks below
    When no one knows it
    When the colors all collide
All inside I can barely hide

    [Chorus]

    Bombs Up In My Face

    Everybody's beautiful when they're young
    And I should know
I've had more than my share of fun
    There's all this fascination
    With the impossibly thin
    With the surface of things
Airbrush. Photoshop creation. And all that we are losing
    Aren't we just confusing
    Youth with beauty
    Truth with duty
There's something on the telly about North Korea
Some war broke up don't trust the media
I'd like to get a suntan
Some dude was shot in Pakistan

    The tracks got nod-age
    Move my bod-age
    Tracks got nod-age
    Tracks got nod-age

    [Chorus]:
They got them bombs up in the planes
They got them bombs up in the trains
They got them bombs up in my face
Don't want to talk about it
    (x2)

I was walking through the city
Passed a phoneshop and a homeless man was lying there
Looked almost dead and no one seemed to bother
I ran into a rock and roll band
Two or three of them maybe four
This one punk just nineteen years old
    He gave me his persuasion
He stared at me with his one black eye

Looked down at me like I didn't have a life
And he was right. Least not the kind of like he'd been parading
Same sex union (ooh) change the Constitution
You can carry a gun but you better not fall in love with someone
The President who f**ked the world for every future boy and girl
Is golfing in Aruba with a suntan and scuba

    The tracks got nod-age
    Move my bod-age
    The tracks got nod-age

    Move my bod-age (x5)

    [Chorus]

Now everybody dies or fades away
    Of permutation white and grey
A synergy of light and dust
    And stem cells constant liaison
You fell in love with the dream to f**k forever endlessly
But you don't and that's okay
    The rest is better anyway
Botox, bundles, CNN, infomericial, count to ten
Change the channel, VCR, something on my radar

    The tracks got nod-age
    Move my bod-age
    The tracks got nod-age

    [Chorus](x2)

They got them bombs up in the planes
They got them bombs up in the trains
Don't want to talk about it.

    The Great Big Disconnect

You got God if you pay for it
You got sex if you pray for it
And those ever elusive weapons of mass destruction
You got Jesus with a paler skin
You had Lennon but you wasted him
I got sleeping pills that'll make you wanna call your momma

    [Chorus]:
'Cause everyone's keeping their love far away
Everyone's keeping their love far away
    Keeping their love far away
Everyone's keeping their love far away

You got phones with 3-D eyes
And you're lonely but you don't know why
    Somebody just killed a man
    And I forgot to moisturize
    You got AIDS in Africa

You got Paris in a new sports bra
    You got therapists
    To justify your behavior

    [Chorus]

    And I loved your company
    So full of generosity
I had something else to say
But it must have slipped my mind
It must have slipped my mind

    So write another love song
And pretend that there's nothing wrong
And if the feeling comes then just call me in the morning

    [Chorus]

25 tracks... We've got some serious listening and reading to do if we want to be prepared for the tour... Lol. I reckon we don't get any info on what songs Darren will play until the first show in Sept.

No they sent it 2 days later 'cause I had problems with payment. So I think I will wait for about 2 days more, I hope ;-)

But still, not all the lyrics are available yet. Anyway, I guess most of us know half the record by heart already
