In order to pick mod candidates from most of the time zones, to increase the probability that some of them will be around at any point in time.

It's far too early to say, Dave. We know nothing about how active the site will be, and only time will show how often the mods are actually here (I suppose most of them have other things to do as well).
A more or less intelligent guess would be maybe 4 or 5 appointed for each 6 hour time slot. That way there's a fair chance that at least one will be online at any given time.

But just to please you, Australia GMT +9 hours. It's normally 10 hours, but this site doesnt seem to recognise daylight savings times, so I had to put it to GMT +9
That totally pisses me off how on some sites Melbourne isn't recognised ... not all aussies live in sydney ...

I'm in the EST time zone, but I'm a third shifter, so I'm usually online from 4am until 10am EST. That's probably afternoon for you Euros and late night for you Aussies.
I wouldn't mind modding.
