Hey everyone,
A few weeks ago I nominated this site to win ABBA Site of the year on ABBAplaza [I don't know if anyone else did...?]

ABBASite4ever has been selected as a finalist and we can now vote for who we want to win. Currently, This Site is joint 1st along with ABBAontv. I'm glad 'we' made it to the final as it's a testement to all the hard work Johnny and all the moderators here have put into the site, launching it so quickly after the collapse of the official Forum and i therefore think it could be a nice ''thank you'' from the fans if ABBAsite4ever took the prize :wink:

1) abba world charts
(because i go on that site alot, its a great site)

2) abba picture gallery
(i have gotten soooooo many pics from that site, its awesome)

3) Abba today
(they always have good info and pics)

For the people that can't vote :arrow: I've learned from the experience that clearing your cache may be helpful.. Just try this and then you might be able to vote. I remembered this after Johnny had mentioned cookies.

Or it really has to do with cookie settings - which means you should enable cookies on your computer... Don't hold me for omniscient when it comes to computers, it is just something I happened to remember. :P

Clearing a cache is the same as deleting temporary internet files from your computer, I think, but I am not sure.

I think it's ok to ask friends to vote, but stretching the bar too far up by own multiple votes is somehow questionable, I think. It may be other site's supporters do it as well, but I'm close to say I'd prefer to lose in honour in such a case rather than promote a cheating race.

Anyway, I haven't given up the hope we still can win in an honest manner. We're only six or seven full three-point votes behind.

The poll seems to be set up so multiple voting is difficult, and you need multiple e-mail addresses to do it. I first voted from home with my e-mail, and then clicked the confirming link in the message I received. When I tried to vote a second time from home with my wife's e-mail address, I got a message stating I already voted from this e-mail or IP address. :shock: I really wasn't trying to cheat - it was just an experiment to see if multiple voting was possible. 8)

However, I'm traveling over the holidays, so I tried my wife's e-mail again from the hotel in Los Angeles and effectively, my wife voted. :D

Now, I'm at another hotel in Palm Springs, and I have two unused e-mail addresses left. I think my son will vote from this hotel. :wink: From here I go to San Diego - who can vote next? We we didn't take the cat, the dog or the bird. Maybe they can vote in absentia?? But I can't ask them what their choices would be? Such a moral dilemma! :confused:

I think we would all like to see our forum win such an illustrious award as "Site of the Year", but I think all that are contemplating submitting more than one vote for themselves need to also ask themselves something; is an award won by dubious means really an award at all?

Speaking strictly for myself, winning an award by less than honorable means is in fact meaningless. I'd rather see the site come in second, third or even last by legitimate vote than win a thousand awards by illegitimate methods.

But of course, that's just me. :wink:

Hi, I'm Sara Russell, owner of ABBA on TV (older ABBA fans may know me as Sara Barnes) and this is my first post to this forum after receiving a congratulatory message from Johnny this morning which was very welcome and gracious.

Thank you to everyone who helped win this contest this year. I will admit I am very happy to have won after coming 2nd or 3rd for the last few years. This year also, the competitions's creator, Robert has made it more fair and less open to multiple voting which makes me even happier that I have won when hopefully voting was fair.

I was never a great contributor to the ABBA site forum and possibly won't have a huge amount of time for this either but I'm very happy to have been invited to join and make some new ABBA friends.

I may be the one who updates and maintains ABBA on TV but I certainly don't have all the answers - those come from ABBA fans all over the world who together feed me with bits of information and pictures to make the site as complete as it can be (or would be if I could catch up with all the updates!).

So a win for ABBA on TV is a win for all ABBA Fans - since they have made it the success it is! Bravo us! :applause:

Thank you Sara, for following my invitation to join. You're very welcome and don't worry, the number of posts will not decide about the value of your membership. We have a lot of members who post seldom but nevertheless enjoy the place.

I think it's also worth mentioning the bronze rank with ABBA's picture gallery. Another great source which would have deserved a gold medal in the same way.

And I think Bonnie's blog scored a fantastic 4th rank, leaving more famous competitors behind.
