The KoD
Well, now that I've read KoD, well some time ago but still, and I hope someone has read it too, I wan't ppls opinion how did you like it??
I think it was good, but somehow I just expected more :look. Can't say yet what but when I've read it through another time maybe I can tell then. Maybe I just had too high expectations for it

I thought it was great, I mean, Perrin finally rescued Faile!
I was waiting for that moment for so lang... so that he finally would stop thinking "nothing mattered more than Faile"... dude, that has been getting on my nerves, ever since it began :p
but the book was imo very, very short
Not that I expected more, but I was missing a lot of people :arch
And for a sidenote, I won't be satisfied with RJ to leave some plot-threads hanging loose :|
Toumas Al'Ahari - 27.10.2005, 02:26
Yeah, Perrin rescuing Faile was pretty cool. And Faile killing that goofing around Roland was even more cooler :p ...hah, that's to you all saying Faile would be better of with Roland :look
:p
If RJ leaves the plot-threads hanging loose that I want answered I'm going after him and making him to tell the answers to me :|
:p

What-? Faile didn't kill Rolan... he was smashed by Perrin's hammer :p
Oh yeah, if you do so, would you mind passing the answers to me then, too? *g*

*smites RJ for letting Egwene hang loose* :|

Toumas Al'Ahari - 31.10.2005, 15:40
:o ...yeah, right it was that way. Me and my stupid head :|
But the point was that he was killed :p

Yeah, somehow everything in the book was done and finished and noone questioned it afterwards

I think on of the best chapter was "honey in the tea". I read it at the work und my friends ask me why i`m giggling :lol but Egwene was only wonderfull in chat chapter . Two other chapters i like are the battle with Rand at the manor house and Tuon married Mat, another part i must giggle :p. It was the first book i read in english and i think i will buy the other ten if i have the money sometimes
:arch

my first book of the series I read in english was TDR :p
from first to last they are all worth buying in english, then you can also be certain noone messed up with the translation...
I read in the German version of the BWB that balefire "burned the object it hit to ash" :arch

Yay! The Dutch version of KOD will be April 19th ^-^ *immediatly ordered it!*
Jerhyn Lekar - 23.01.2006, 19:27
I just finished it (yesterday sunday the 22th 7.40 pm :P) and I loved it!
Edit: What made me most satisfied was that Perrin finally found his bloody Faile...
What I found amusing though, that was Egwene. She's so great and strong in this book! :D
Ereleyn Aviar - 27.01.2006, 12:33
had some difficulties reading the first parts, but as soon as Egwenes honey in the tea came up it got really exciting and fast and good! So much action, so many things coming nearer to an end! Really looking foreward to the next one! Hope it is even faster! (Well, with the last battle coming and stuff it should be...)
Lythnia Roylin - 19.03.2006, 05:25
the next one will be the last one...RJ has announced that, and that it will be called "A MEmory of Light". He PROMISED its the last one...cant wait till tarmon gai'don...
Kyria d'Oreyn - 19.03.2006, 12:11
I want it to be a 3000+ pages hardcover :cry
Lyuna Sedai - 19.03.2006, 18:03
I so second that... :cry
Aeiryn Cathe'Amon - 19.03.2006, 18:10
the thing about books... at least with me... is that when I'm reading them, I want to finish them, find out how it ends, but once I've finished I wish it never ended. and... yeah.
Jerhyn Lekar - 19.03.2006, 19:08
^ what he said actually.
Lythnia Roylin - 19.03.2006, 21:24
same as jer...but the thing is, i have kind of a love/hate thing with rand...hes annoying, but...theres something...dunno whether i want him to die in tarmon gai'don or not :look
Jerhyn Lekar - 19.03.2006, 21:29
I don't care who dies as long as Mat survives tbh. He's hilarious imo. :p
Kyria d'Oreyn - 19.03.2006, 22:47

Second that, but it depends on the book :rolleyes
Well, if Rand manages to be brought down a few rungs I wouldn't mind him living; but if he still is like "omg, I killed a woman (never mind all the guys)" *trouts Rand*
Lythnia Roylin - 20.03.2006, 05:19
i tooooootally agree about mat. im a hopeless mat fangirl...hes just so funny, and witty, and - well, hes a great guy. besides, hes got all those brilliant battle plans in that mind of his, and he speaks the old tongue impeccably. I just cant imagine him married to Tuon and settling down to married life. He'll probably be something like han Solo - married to Leia, but still acts like a carefree bachelor smuggler...
and Rand had better become a man. I mean, hes the car'a'carn and the cooramoor and the dragon reborn, and he acts like a 10 year old sometimes
Jerhyn Lekar - 20.03.2006, 10:56
Sometimes? :eek I think that he's acting like my brother most of the times... He seriously needs someone to box his ears, unfortunately he doesn't really let any Aes Sedai nor Amyrlin Seat (*cough Egwene cough*) get near him...
Kyria d'Oreyn - 20.03.2006, 15:16
That's where Cads comes into play :joy
She'll teach him manners :p
Lythnia Roylin - 20.03.2006, 16:08
actually, cadsuane pisses me off...she is just so full of herself, and she respects no rules (not that i do :p )
but honestly, nynaeve is still pretty honest and tough with him, and lan is good too, when he's around. them, along with mat and perrin and co. are the only ones who dont grovel in front of rand...
Jerhyn Lekar - 20.03.2006, 16:13
Cadsuane is cool AND annoying. She can be a real b!tch sometimes and like er, yeah, cool others. :p I wonder how old she is. O.o
Lythnia Roylin - 20.03.2006, 16:18
seriously...shes probably as old as some of the knitting circle...the woman's been around for like ever.
Jerhyn Lekar - 20.03.2006, 16:22
Yeah, or maybe she's married to the creator :look That wouldn't surprise me at all to be honest. :P Or she could be the oldest if she joined the Knitting Circle, I doubt we'll ever get to know that though.
I don't remember any hints saying how old she is either. Except that her hair is grey but what the hell..
Lythnia Roylin - 20.03.2006, 17:35
it must take a lot for an aes sedai to have totally gray hair... do you think there's even a sliver of a chance that she might be a darkfriend? (she might even be older than the creator :look )
Kyria d'Oreyn - 20.03.2006, 17:43
Cadsuane is about 295 years old, the oldest of the Kin is more than 500 years old I believe.
Alanna acts as if Cads were the Creator's sister (not married to him :P)
And no, she is no Darkfriend, she tried rooting out the Black Ajah herself, but failed, which bugs her (understandably, I hate the BA :|)
Lythnia Roylin - 20.03.2006, 17:51
but she really acts terribly at times...youve got to admit that much, at least
Kyria d'Oreyn - 20.03.2006, 18:01
I never said the opposite :p
Lythnia Roylin - 20.03.2006, 21:32
didna say you did...i just cant stand her. especially once you read about her in New Spring....yech.
