Hi Dave, no, you will not be able to take pictures in the Hotel/Casino. Cameras are not aloud in any casinos in Vegas unless a person has special permission from the casino. If the security guards see anyone with a camer they will ask a person to leave the casino, sorry Ross.
P.S. Are you planing to go to the Red Rock to see ABBA The Tour, I will be going twice 7-13-20-07, Designer

That is so cool. Mind you, you should have asked for a pay rise as well!!!

I agree!
I agree!! You deserve a pay raise for sending your boss to such an amazing and entertaining show! Now he is a believer in the "ABBA" experience.....(at least musically)... :D
I have just a few more days!! I can't wait!!! They serve COCKTAILS at the Las Vegas show...so I may just end up on the stage myself in my black ABBA shirt dancing with the stars afterwards!!! :rotfl2: :boogie:

 I wouldn't recommend it! I'll watch the news this weekend for "Crazy Fan Rushes the Stage During 'Mamma Mia.' " But you can dance in your seat! Have a great time and tell us about it (not that we haven't seen it ourselves, of course...).
:)

I'm Baaaaaack!!!!!!
I am back from my trip to Las Vegas!
I sat on the very front row as I promised you all....first class seating! I wonder if I sat in the same chair as Bjorn and Annifrid did when they attended the Opening Night there???? :rotfl2:
The show was fantastic, the Orchestra/Band was awesome and very LOUD!! I got a bird's-eye view of every actor's face and felt that I was onstage with them. The orchestra pit was right under me, covered by a cage, so that I could not rush the stage and grab Sophie and kiss her head off.....
But, it was a great show, and I am very lucky and happy to have had the chance to "Have the Time of My Life"....and I did. The crowd was great, although I felt like I was the only one wiggling around and singing along!
I was not allowed to take pictures, sorry...I wish I could have. You can check to see who played each part on the official Mama Mia website...Sophie and Donna were fantastic...very lovely and beautiful clear voices.
Overall a very fun evening. I think the show may be closing there in a year or two, so I am glad I went to see it. Even if it is not "ABBA" in it's true form, the music alone makes the audience happy and the story is actuall very poignant and funny....a nicely written musical that keeps you bubbling with excitment, it really is non-stop fun!
Hope you enjoyed reading about my experience. I wish the Mamai Mia Musical lots of luck in it's run over the next decade and look forward to the movie!!!

I'm glad to hear you had a good time, Dave.
I just came back from Las Vegas myself and saw Mamma Mia! too. I saw it Saturday night, 10:00pm showing.
It was a hectic night. I saw The Phantom of the Opera at 7:00pm at The Venetian (my favorite musical). It was a beautiful production and perhaps the most "intimate." The theatre was surprisingly small, but well decorated and closely resembled the theatre featured in the film counterpart. Anyways, the show ended at about 8:45pm. And we had to rush back to the Mandalay to catch Mamma Mia! on time. We got there at about 9:30. The two hotels probably aren't even seven miles away. It gets crazy in Vegas!
The moment we got to the Mandalay theatre, I made sure to grab a playbill. I was real eager to see who would portray the beloved characters. I've seen Mamma Mia! once before (last year, also in Las Vegas and was pleased with the performance). I entered the theatre with no expectations other than to have a good time. Much to my delight, I enjoyed this cast much more than the last one I saw. They were all so natural on stage and exhibited such exuberance. Made the show all that much more lively! EVERYONE was on their feet dancing and singing. The finale was a blast! Walking out the theatre, seeing smiling faces all around me made me proud of ABBA. I don't think I know of any other group that can bring so much joy to the world.
I've learned Mamma Mia! is tentatively scheduled to close next summer. Anyone wanting to see the show, I urge you to catch it before/by then. It will be sad to see Mamma Mia! go, but I'm happy it endured such success in LV. But also...by 2008, the movie version should be released. Now that's something for which to look forward! Am very excited! :)

Me too!
Kristine,
I too have seen the show twice (once in our hometown of Oklahoma City with the traveling show)...but I must say that the cast at the Mandalay Bay show was fantastic, and very upbeat and professional. I too enjoyed every minute and thought Sophie's character was particularly impressive. I saw the show on Tuesday evening at 7:30....so I think maybe the crowd was a little more "tame", and was not quite so eager to get up and dance! Maybe I should have bought into the later 10:00 PM Saturday show. I was in Las Vegas that night too, but I was NOT enjoying myself at that point! Too much walking and HOT HOT HOT!! I was trapped in Ceasar's Palace for hours and could not find my way out!!! Crazy!

Hi all, I am so glad that both of you had such a grate time. Dave, are you going to Red Rock to see Arrival, if you liked Mamma Mia you will love Arrival. I meet Vicky brown hair and Jenny blond hair, I said to Jenny, I do not mean to be rude but you have Agnetha bum, she told me she is about the same age as Linda.

Dave, I totally understand how you probably would have been burned out by Saturday! It did get HOT. REAL HOT. By the time we left on Sunday afternoon, it had reached 118 degrees F. The moment I stepped outside, I felt as though I were going to faint.
The character I particularly enjoyed was Tanya. Tanya was always my favorite character, but the actress who played her this time took the character to a whole different level! She was HILARIOUS. Having that said, I'd also have to say Rosie truly stole the show that night and really shined. She received the most applause during enore and actually interacted with the crowd (something I didn't see from anyone else in both this show and the last).
It was all so much fun. I'm hoping to see it again soon. Or, at least before it closes.
abbafreak - 18.07.2007, 09:41
Tanya and Rosie
Kristine,
I agree with you too! Tanya and Rosie DID interact with the audience and were absolutley hilarious! Perfect casting......since I was on the front row, I actually made eye contact wtih Tanya more than once!! REALLY!! :D At one point she pointed right at me...
Too bad we were not at the same showing, and we could have met! That would have been my first time to meet an ABBASITE4EVER member!! Maybe next year if it is still playing. I will be in Vegas July 14th-19th......
Designer, No, unfortunately, my pocketbook will not allow me to attend the show at Red Rock...ONE trip to Vegas a year is all I can afford!!! I hope you have fun if you attend. I know nothing about this particular show...tell me about it! (Arrival)

Dave,
Abba-The Tour is playing Red Rocks amphitheater Friday July 27th.
The theater is built between huge rock formations in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, a few mile west of Denver (and really close to me). alot closer than Vegas. Then, 2 weeks later we are seeing Bjorn Again a few miles away in Arvada, CO. Lots of ABBA this summer!!

Red Rock
Philzone,
OH! I did not know where Red Rock was...but, now that I think of it, I own a Moody Blues DVD concert that was performed at Red Rock!! Silly me.
That would be great fun to attend. I think living in CO would be wonderful, especially since there seems to be a lot of entertainment there. Nothing much here in OK!! Have fun!
