Midsummer parties
Hej!

Tonight's "midsommar afton" (Midsummer evening) in Sweden with a lot of midsummer parties and festivities.

We had our "midsommar fest" yesterday and celebrated it with a couple of friends who love Sweden and have been on various Sweden holidays with us.

Swedish "smörgåsbord":

Salmon and crab sandwiches (Gravlax och räksmörgåsar):

Cinnamon buns (Kanelbullar)

A must have: Swedish flag

Another must have for a mittsommar party:

How did you celebrate midsommar?

What a great idea! Will you invite us all next year? And what about swedish music?

Yesterday we should have had a mittsommar event organized by my children's school, but it was canceled because of the weather...:cry:

Every year it is a very nice event at the end of the day with picnic and lots of games for the children. After playing games a teacher tells a nice story and at the very end all children will jump over a fire-place!

I see the liquor says Distilled and Bottled in Norway. Perhaps that's close enough to Sweden. The food looks good enough to complement some good German beer. :D

Tack för de fina bilderna! It looks like it was a wonderful midsommarfest! :)

We had a really nice midsommar party at my Swedish class too! (I found it difficult to make the midsommarkransen though! LOL!)

Johnny, did you play "Hemma" at your party - that would be an appropriate song for midsommar! :)
