Frida and Lite Grand i Orat Your Fave Performance!
Frida had co presented with Claes af Geijerstam a four part variety show Lite Grand i Orat dureing sep-oct 1981 in this show there was amongst other performers two duets with Frida and Tommy Korbeg a cover off Words of love,After the love has gone and Fire and Ice,There was also the songs Aquarius and Tackorkestern,Cry me a river,Cant buy me love,Lets get this show on the road,Dureing these performances there was also a superb Beatles medely with Frida and other performers this medely included A hard days night,She says she loves you yey yey, These beutiful performances with Frida you dont see very often,From this one of a kind show my favourite song that featured Frida was her duet with Tommy Koberg After the love has gone i really liked this performance very much with this particular performance Frida is singing in her raw higher tones a range you dont hear much,My question too you guys is what would you consider your fave performance with Frida from this unique one off show,

When I first got the Frida DVD, Lite Gran I Orat was the first thing I had to watch and listen urgently! It is very difficult to single out one performance but if I had to, that would be Fire and Ice :wink:, followed closely by Can't buy me love and Words of Love. I think this is the best live performance done by any ABBA member. Just fantastic.

When I first heard this song on a cd I had got, I was just amazed at how well Frida handles live singing. I knew before she loved concerts and venues, but THIS.... just left me speechless. It is a great pity she did not make a crystal clear studio recording.

Yes Maxi-saxi Frida did a few great performances on this show, Ivanna i should have known you would love Fire and Ice :wink: Frida does a fantastic performance of this song,Yes i agree ivanna for me also this has to be one of the best shows i have exsperianced with any Abba member singing live with these performances Frida singing live is truly addorable like you i would have loved crystal clear recordings its a shame an album was never produced, I got the screen shots from www.Abbaontv.com
There is a few there and it would be nice if you wanted to post more,I have a few performances from the Lite Gran i Orat if you want these songs including After the love has gone and both the Beatles medely and the Lite gran i orat medely feel free to email me theres no problem :wink: Pam i was also delighted to see these performances on Frida the dvd it was a nice surprise!

Anyway I like all songs.
Words Of Love is close to my heart since it is a The Mamas & The Papas song (loooooooooove them) but the ones I love the most are Fire And Ice (duh) and After The Love Has Gone.

You are very welcome Johnsteven! It is always a pleasure to post Frida caps to fans. I haven't made them larger because I made them myself! :) So in fact I had to reduce them a little. In pristine condition, they are 700x500 or something like that!

I have lots more from the DVD such as young Frida before ABBA and I have started making Djupa period as well but my DVD device is not compatible with my new processor (or whatever on the computer) so I don't have good tools to make more caps at the moment.

My favourite vocal from that period is 'After The Love Has Gone'- I really think she made it her own-the sign of a truly gifted singer, imo. I have copies of this, plus 'Fire And Ice' (she is almost vitriolic on that one, I was quite taken aback) and they're not too bad; I'm just grateful I have the chance to hear such rare Frida! Not seen the show, however :cry:

Of all the members of ABBA I think Frida did the best job of guesting on 'other people's' songs- she seemed to be able to naturally click with her singing partners.

Lite grand i orat must have been great fun for Frida to do. She looks very happy and comfortable in the footage, considering her then recent divorce from Benny. Much happier than in ABBA's videos from those days.
It is also fun to see her wearing some costumes from ABBA videos on stage, f.e. two costumes from the 'When all is said and done' video (one of them the green dress with the endless cleavage). I also remember her wearing that red outfit in a press conference in the 1979 tour.
My favourite performance is 'Fire and ice'. It has been said before, but it's remarkable how good and effortless Frida sings live. This would have been a great song to include on the SGO album.

It is really a pity we can't lay eyes on all 4 LGIO shows.. :cry: (I think there were 4 shows, right?)

I also think it is great Clabbe managed to persuade Frida to take part in it as a hostess (lovely hostess :wink: ) as at first she wasn't that enthusiastic about the whole idea.
