Nice. Meryl Streep is a pretty elegant lady and talented too, so I think she's going to make a good Donna in the movie. Who else was there in Stockholm to meet for the movie?

That is most certainly not true since Görel is not that tall. She is a tiny lady (at least compared to the ABBA's) which makes me pretty certain that she is not in the pics here.

This is sheer speculation on my part.

For those who detest these things (and there are some here who claim to), pls skip the following. For the rest:







Meryl Streep doesn't need to do the recordings in Stockholm. No other stars from Mamma Mia has found the need to go there, so far. I suspect there is an ulterior motive for the trip. Perhaps a secret rendezvous with an elusive diva. Perhaps to persuade her to make an appearance in the movie. They couldn't have chosen a better messenger - the grande dame of Hollywood plus she's also an actress admired by our elusive one.
Furthermore, the silence on Agnetha is truly deafening. Who would go to Stockholm to meet Benny and hopefully Frida and yet, fails to mention about "the one who flies out for noone" - obviously the reason for the trip is Agnetha. Since it's mentioned that Streep hopes to meet Frida, does it mean that Frida will be flying in? Doesn't it lead us to the conclusion that probably Frida, Benny, Bjorn and Streep as a persuasive group, will hope to work their magic on Agnetha?

Interesting, skm, but I have my doubts.

It's not really odd for Frida to be in Sweden; she's made many public appearances there as of late. Perhaps Streep didn't mention Agnetha because there were no plans to meet with her.

Björn wasn't mentioned either, which I find more conspicuous than Agnetha's absence.

Frida and Agnetha never worked on Mama Mia!. Frida though made clear she definitely was intrested in the musical, but not as a producer. Agnetha too, in her own way, because she obviously enjoyed the preformances she went to see. There's no need for both to support Mama Mia! the movie since they're not involved in the whole project. Anni-Frid might turn up just because she likes to turn up every now and then and that's what she does nowadays. Like some others I'm more suprised Björn was not there in Stockholm to meet Meryl Streep actually. It always came to me he was much more invloved into the whole Mama Mia!-thing. But don't forget this was just one meeting: I'm pretty sure more of those will follow soon.

Agnetha once mentioned that Streep was her favourite actress... And I do believe the lady in the picture is Görel. I know she is small, but she could be wearing high heels or something.

I have to agree with Carribean here. She's tiny! And as a fellow short person I can attest to the fact that heels won't make as much difference as we see in that picture.

Maybe Meryl just wanted to meet Agnetha and have the opportunity to be a true lady and express an interest in Agnetha as a musician who sang the songs Meryl will be singing! Maybe Meryl was in desire to get a "feel" for Agnetha so that she will be more comfortable singing the songs?

I agree with Maxi, Meryl probably wanted to meet Agnetha and we all know that Agnetha already was a Meryl fan....mutual aquaintance and just a meet and greet opportunity likely.

If such a meeting should take place, I wonder who would be more nervous? Agnetha, meeting the legend from Hollywood or Meryl, meeting the "angel" from ABBA and having to do justice to her songs.

I would guess:

Agnetha more nervous....being that she has been out of the public eye more or less for so long, and is by nature shy and reserved.

Meryl is a very out-going and outspoken person, judging by her acting roles and interviews that I have seen her talking in.

I believe that both women would have gotten along very nicely. If it were me meeting Agnetha, I would not be able to talk at all! :oops: I would also have to take along a change of pants after wetting myself at the sight of her!! :rotfl2:

Seriously, though, I believe that Meryl would likely take control of the conversation and ask the most questions!

The Director of the Movie is The same person who had directed the stage show Phillida Loyd. I have probably misspelled her name But I actually thought they would have been better to get a Director who has directed previous Movies.


Don't get me wrong I'm sure she'll do a great job but to direct a stage show and A Major Motion Picture, I mean they are so totally different.
I mean after all who directed Evita. That was great

No disrespect to Phillida but this is her first time as a Director of a Motion Picture and being so huge as it will be.
