Some thoughts about 'the last preformance'
I was just watching Under Attack on Youtube (here and it was said to be ABBA's last preformance since they broke up in 1982. They always claimed that 'just happened' because all four went seperate ways. While seeing this preformancing, I was wondering myself about their hapiness. It's such an innocent song they used to make, but they seem to enjoy theirselves. I always thought they were all fed up with ABBA at the end of their career together, so this was something new. This is definitely one of the most enthousiastic preformances they ever did for television: something which is a bit weird if you keep their divorces, the lack of success with The Visitors and the fact they didn't really knew how to keep ABBA alive in mind. My question: Did they knew this was going to be their last preformance as a group in a long time? Or was it just because of a great audience? I've seen many videos on Youtube meanwhile, but this one is something special. All four gave it their best shot. The ladies are having a good time while the audience gives them a big hand, Benny is luckily playing behind is piano, and Björn looks happy too. It's hard to ignore the fact they were breaking up by this time. I think they must have felt in a way it was over know - end of a period. What do you all think?

It's not the last ever performance, but close to it. This performance was taped on 11 November 1982. The last ever appearance was on The Late Late Breakfast Show in the UK on 11 December, via satellite from Stockholm, which is included on the Number Ones DVD.

Tivedshambo 86 doesn't count, Ian? I guess because they weren't "officially" ABBA then?

I think ABBA were running out of steam, They decided to take a break try new things and hopefully they were planning to record together again after Chess, But as Chess took to long to complete the so called reunion never happened.

I know I have here old tapes were all former members clearly state they were on a break. and ABBA will record together in the future.

But sadly...
The performance you talked about is a nice one ABBA seemed to be enjoying themselves, especially the girls.
