Seinfeld compares with ABBA..
In my local paper today, there's a story from the movie- festival in Cannes. Jerry Seinfeld dressed up as a bee, and "flew" down from a roof. Quite a sight! It was a PR- stunt for the animated movie "Bee Movie".

Of course reporters couldn't resist asking him about a reunion and comeback for his TV show "Seinfeld". "No, not a chance", he sais, "people remember the show with warmth, they've got the pictures of a terrific show in their heads. If we tried to do it again, they'd only be disappointed".

A journalist replies that he thinks that answer reminds a lot about the ones ABBA give, when they're asked about why they never reunion.

"Yes, we think like ABBA. You shall not destroy the memory of anything that good".

Seems to me like ABBA are more known among the Americans now, than in the 70's. Maybe due to "Mamma Mia?"

Hi Geir,
Speaking from my own experience, I never met anyone from my generation that wasn't at least aware of ABBA (now or in the 70's). Dancing Queen, Knowing Me Knowing You, SOS and Take A Chance On Me were played quite often on the radio and the corresponding music videos were shown on music shows as well. The fact that they were Swedish was always mentioned when ABBA was discussed because that was quite a novelty in pop music to the average American, this I think made them more memorable than perhaps another group with the same exposure. I think most people that listened to pop music in America during the 70's were aware of ABBA, they just didn't like to admit that they liked them. (for whatever reason  ) Today I think it is less stigmatised to admit your a fan of the group. (again, for whatever reason  :D )

Jerry Seinfeld is a bit older than I, but still more or less part of my generation so it doesn't surprise me he is well aware of ABBA. It's also nice to hear he is a fan also. 8)

Btw, I really liked his show it was very funny.

Hi Geir, I don't know where Bjorn is coming from, he made a statment so long age and he could never back it up with anything, he never like touring, he did not like being on stage, the only thing he wonted to do is create music.
