It is so very nice to just send Agnetha something without expecting anything back!

I personally have never written her but one day I will. However I do not understand that there are fans who have more than one autograph and continue to write and ask for more. To me that is somewhat harassment.

But for you to send Agnetha a gift is really sweet. I hope it was some nice Peruvian artifact!

I wonder, all those fans sending her letters at her Ekero address, how many of those letters does she actually receive? How do you know that they aren't being diverted to her Production company or other place who handle her mail ? If every letter reached her home, I bet she'd get 50-100 letters everyday. I just think sometimes it would be overwhelming for her to personally read every letter and reply? Most people receive autographed postcards. My bet is every few months, her production company or Mono Music in Stockholm get her to sign a bunch of postcards, or whenever she has time, so when fans write in, they just mail out an autographed postcard. Maybe some fan mail she personally receives, maybe she requests a few to get through to her, but the bulk of the letters written to her, I don't think she ever reads or receives? She might have a team of people who read her fan mail. I think if people send her gifts or something really special, she might read those, but the others, I don't know? Just my opinion.

To us the ABBA members are big stars but to the general audience they are nice music if anything.
Just us fans will write letters and I after 30 years of fandom have not even done that... so far! So I would think that the amount of letters written to them is not overwelming.
Agnetha said in 2004 that the 'nice letters' written by fans helped her in deciding to record again. So I believe she really reads them.

There is no reason to think Agnetha's mail is read by someone else. Even the forum on the ABBA site was shut down due to the fact that there is not enough staff. So I am sure Universal did not hire someone to read the mail for the ABBA members.
Trust me... not that many letters are written to them in this day and age and since it usually takes about 6 months to get a reply one can assume Agnetha does it herself taking some time for it every now and then. And Andrea here was just very lucky to get a very fast reply.

Well, you've asked. I sent her a nice Birthday card (from Sweden, which my aunt bring on a trip to Europe) so I bet she must have liked it very much! :D
Also I sent her a "shakiras" necklacke (some typical little rocks from Peru), because I read somewhere that she liked collecting them.

I noticed Bjorn's and Benny's autograph has been simplified over the years, both basically just do a little squiggle, they don't look the same as the way they signed during ABBA or into the 1980s. They look extra hurried and rushed now.

im sure she would have done it. its not like they have a stamp and they stamp her signature on something for everyone that writes a letter etc. i think it is great she is connecting with fans again. this is a positive thing, as is the thanks on the official site. things are looking great in the world of agnetha

I wrote Agnetha the first time through Universal. Also I thought she was not going to receive it, but I was very surprised when I got her autograph a month later.
This time, I sent the letter and a present to her house, and she has also replied with an autograph (I didn't asked for one) and she wrote my address in the envelope.
You know, I think she writes the envelopes. I compared it with the first and it's the same caligraphy. Then, I've compared it with her autograph and the letters are very similar!

I wrote her at her home address. Andrea, mine was hand written in blue ballpoint, but can't verify that that his her lettering (printing). On the front of the envelope, did she print the address more to the lower right hand side of the envelope? Also, did she print your address in upper case/capitol letters? Usually the very first letter of each word is higher than the rest of the word If you have "A"s in your address, (well I guess your first name would have an "A") is the cross in the "A" slant upwards on an angle to the right? The top of the "E"s have a longer top stroke than the others in the letter. The printing looks very angular, not rounded, especially the "L"s and "N"s, they have very sharp corners.

Also, did your letter have an 11 Kroner stamp with a yellow Sommergylling bird on it? My letter has a postal cancellation mark over the stamp that has a "V" with 3 crowns, one crown in the middle of the "V" and two crowns on top of the "V". It probably is her writing, but I need to compare it to yours. If yours is the same, then we know it was written by the same person, most likely Agnetha's. I know the autographs I got are 100% genuine/real and they were made out personally to me. I just want to know if she hand addressed my envelope? I know here writing quite well, but never saw any examples of her printing.

Well, that wouldn't work because if you included i.e. UK, USA stamps on a self addressed envelope, or whatever stamps you used in your home country, she wouldn't be able to send the letter, since she would have to use Swedish stamps, you can't mail a letter with a different country stamp, i.e. it would be like you trying to mail her a letter from the U.S.A. with a Swedish stamp on the envelope. Or her trying to send you a letter with a U.S. stamp on it. Also, you wouldn't know how much it would cost exactly in Swedish Kroner to send a letter to your address. Usually most people include International Reply Coupons, sort of like a universal stamp that is good in a lot of countries.

I usually send $5 in cash to cover the postage on her end, usually that is double what it would cost her to send a letter, but I included a couple extra dollars for her time too. I bet if you sent her a $1000, she'd reply for sure. LOL! Maybe she had some free time in the last couple of months and sent out a lot of letters. Someone said she probably writes, sends out autographs in batches because a lot of people got replies in the last 3 months. So she probably needs time to read the letters, sort out her fan mail, autograph stuff, put them in envelopes, address them, put stamps on them, take a bunch of letters to the post, I bet she probably gets a friend or neighbour to do that, take them to the post. Also I'm not sure if she keeps all her fan mail, if she does, she'd have to store them in a couple of rooms in her house over the years. I'm sure she keeps a lot of it, to read them over again when she gets bored or in a mood of reflection.

I've checked the envelopes and both stamps. The first one is an eagle (I think) in a blue sky, the prize is 10KR. And the other one is another bird in a yellow, the prize is 11 KR.
Both say SVERIGE :D

I think the mail from "that guy" has probably tapered off somewhat by now. She most likely gets the letter carrier to pre-sort her mail or is done at the Stockholm or Ekero postal office, so that letters from others, friends/fans get to her and "the guy's" mail goes to the police. Or she might get Linda and hubby to help sort out her mail before it gets to her. Just a theory.

I can imagine some other artists like Madonna who are still very much into the spotlights never read the lots of mails they get. Seriously, I think Agnetha does though. Agnetha has a lot of assistants at Ekero, I dont know if they are the same people now but she used to employ a really nice lady called Birgitte who used to describe herself as Agnethas housekeeper and a man that was the care taker, he used to give us lifts back to Stockholm.

There is always lots of people down on her property, Staffan Linde is also there a lot, so im sure if she would prefer other people to check through her mail or maybe write envelopes out for her. There is no shortage of people. Personally i think she probably has a set amount of fan mail put aside which she chooses to reply too and probably does write the envelopes herself.
I left a letter at Fridas apartment when she lived in Hurden in Switzerland,I received a letter back and the envelope was handwritten by her.


Agnethas letterbox at Ekero is or used to be across the road from her property, she used to send Christian over to get it on his little motorised bike. But of course times have changed, especially because of that freak. So maybe her mail is delivered straight to the property now.

The pictures shown on here of Frida, Benny and Bjorn are the standard autographs that the staff at Mono hand out if you knock on the door. They obviously have a batch pre signed for when the requests come in.
Agnetha used to do this also, with the "Eyes of a woman" postcard and for some reason signed them in green ink. If she didnt want to see fans at Ekero, she would send Linda or the caretaker out to hand them out.

Congrats on getting the autograph, i know how wonderful the feeling is, when you see the envelope stamped "sverige" on the front.

In the winter of 2003/2004 i went to her home and wanted to attach a lettre to the fence (there wasn't a mailbox), a car came ouf of the driveway and pulled open the window. There was a man and a woman (didn't know either one of them), i asked if this was the house of Agnetha Fältskog and they replied at the same time both yes and no :D So i guessed i was right there! Anyway, i told them i wrote a lettre to her and all i wanted was for her to get and read it. They promissed me to give it to Agnetha.
I enclosed a self adressed envelope with a 11 (or maybe 10 at that time) kronor stamp but i never received something ;(

I would like to try again! But what exactly are international coupons and where do i get them? And in what way do i have the best chance to receive something, her homeadress or the 'official way'. By the way, i would like an adress for the 'official way' as well, anybody? :)

Get a 20 crown note instead of the coupon. I've heard they're a little outdated nowadays and not easy to get everywhere.

@DQ, i actually just wanted to see her home, take a few pictures (just for myself) and leave again. We actually did that. Then i got the idea to write her a lettre so we went to some cafe in Ekerö and i wrote it. Went back to tape it to a fence and the car came out. So it wasn't planned. I definetly did not antree her driveway!

I did take 3 very small stones from the driveway though :P

Ok

One more try, in plain English.

1) Write a letter to Agnetha kindly requesting an autograph.

2) Put it into an envelope addressed "To Agnetha Fältskog, c/o Universal Music" and add the 20 crown note and a reply envelope with your return address on it.

3) Don't glue the envelope with the three items (letter, money note, reply envelope), you don't really think someone from Universal will steal it, do you? The envelope should stay open to be easily checked not to contain any offensive or crude crap.

4) Write a short (!) note to the staff explaining that your letter contains an autograph request and ask them to pass it on.

5) Put everything into a third envelope and send it to the Universal address given. Glue this one.

@ygdra75, i know what the subtitles say but i speak swedish and she doesn't say 'I', she says 'man' which means 'people' who are in the same position as her. She also speaks for herself but not just her.

I'm sure they no longer do this based on others replies and all the years that have gone by, but the fact is they DID do it! Short term or long term...who knows...but during that time period her mail went to the police dept. It was part of the investigation.

What was there to investigate? They knew who wrote the letters and he even dropped them off at her house since he was living next door. I am sure Agnetha just handed the letters to the police and there was no need to go through her mail.
And the Swedish police did of course not comment on Agnetha's mail. If there indeed would have been an investigation they really would not let that information slip.

While I know most people were horrified by the stalker situation, they were also glued to the news reports about it. As fans, we want to know what is going on, good or bad. I commend you that you were so strong willed that you resisted.

Certainly people shouldn't believe everything they read, or at least read thinking parts may not be as they seem.
But some people insist on taking what they want to believe and throwing out what they don't want to belive, whether true or speculation or lies.
I'm not judging the reports and articles and quoted sources.
I'm not trying to second guess or pretend I have a superior mind. I am stating what was reported by just about every press article that was written.
Maybe the quotes from Staffan Lindé were wrong?
As to my web sites. So many people freaked out! I had no idea people were still looking at them since they are no longer updated!
The reason they are not updated is that they are free web sites and the free space is maxed out.
I would need to delete alot to add anything.
I will leave them as they stand I guess.
The only one I will work with in the future is Stig's and it's offline for now.

Wait about 1-3 months, that's usually the time frame before you get a reply. It will be an autograph. I haven't heard any stories of Agnetha actually writing a letter to any fans though. But the reply will be an autograph. I didn't have any IRP coupons, nor did I include a self addressed envelope. I just sent her money for her time and effort. What I got was a couple of autographs I requested and I guess she supplied the stamp and envelope and even addressed it to me in her handwriting. After a couple of months I was able to verify it was her printing on the envelope. I found some examples of her printing and it checks out. The writing I recognize right away, the printing was harder to confirm.
