ABBA Songs In Pictures!!
Just thought of a new idea for a game as I was drifting off to sleep- let's see if it sounds as good now that I'm lucid.........

The idea I had in mind was to post a pic that (hopefully) describes an ABBA song; your job would be to guess the song that each pic describes.

For instance:

.........would describe The Winner Takes It All.

Another:

..........would describe Ring Ring.

First to guess puzzle puts up next one, as is custom.

Sounds good? Let's go, then!!

First puzzle to follow, underneath this post-

Matt
PeopleNeedLove - 30.04.2007, 22:00

Good luck-

Matt
Fire&Ice - 30.04.2007, 22:42

That would be Two For The Price Of One!

ABBAnator - 01.05.2007, 07:03

Nice idea Matt this looks like fun!

Hmm ... that looks to be Paris at night. "Summer Night City"?

I'll post a pic just in case that's correct:

Lammer - 01.05.2007, 08:32

Matt,
GREAT IDEA! A+ for you!

Ivana's could also be "Our Last Summer," which is set in Paris.

Bruce, could it be "Sitting in a Palm Tree?"

Okay, I know how to post ABBA pics, because I copy them from other threads, but I don't know how to post other pics, although I'm sure it has something to do with Photobucket. However, as I should be doing some work right now and not playing, I'm not going to figure that out now.

Soooo, if I may have the liberty-- Picture this:
A dancing banana with a headful of fruit.

(I'm sorry for not following the rules, but I wanted to play.)

:)
Fire&Ice - 01.05.2007, 11:11

In fact, Laura is right, it was OLS, but never mind, I like the Sitting in the palmtree drawing!

Laura, just to go Google images, type in what you want to find and simply paste the url here and add the "img" tab.
PeopleNeedLove - 01.05.2007, 11:49

ABBAnator wrote: Nice idea Matt this looks like fun!

Thank you! :love4:

Lammer wrote: Matt,

Thank you too! :love4:

Fire&Ice wrote: Laura, just to go Google images, type in what you want to find and simply paste the url here and add the "img" tab.

Yup- Get the link of the pic you want, paste it here, highlight it, and click Img up top. You're good to go.........:D

Quote: Soooo, if I may have the liberty-- Picture this:

Chiquitita?

I'm not sure, because I believe the bananas-on-the-head girl is "Chiquita," so will wait for Official Confirmation before posting next one......... :P

Matt
blauwbloempje - 01.05.2007, 13:53

Wow! Superidea :D

and

LoveAngel - 01.05.2007, 16:05

Waterloo....
Happy new year..

and....
Anonymous - 01.05.2007, 16:07

people need love :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
blauwbloempje - 01.05.2007, 16:38

First 2 are correct, last one not :D It's my favourite!
kitty-cat - 01.05.2007, 16:39

Lovelight?

gill xx
Lammer - 01.05.2007, 19:04

Matt, Yes, it was Chiquitita, which sounds close to Chiquita (Banana)

I don't mean to step in when it's not my turn, but I want to try posting, as explained:

IT WORKED!! Thank you Ivana and Matt!!!!!
Sorry, gillxx, for taking your turn...
:)
Fire&Ice - 01.05.2007, 21:42

I'm a Marionette!

By the way, I think one picture for a guess is enough~ :)

ABBAnator - 01.05.2007, 21:50

Yes, it would be nice to have only one clue at a time otherwise it's could get a bit confusing to follow the thread.

I think you folks robbed Gill of her turn ...

(Bruce practicing his moderation skills :P )

Oh my goodness my post count is "666" I need to quickly make a legit post! That's bad luck! :?
PeopleNeedLove - 01.05.2007, 22:11

ABBAnator wrote: Yes, it would be nice to have only one clue at a time otherwise it's could get a bit confusing to follow the thread.

(Bruce practicing his moderation skills :P )

Further, I humbly suggest that the person who guessed it correctly wait to post the next puzzle until the answer is "confirmed" to be correct, as is custom for Hangman, Who Said That?, etc. For instance, I honestly thought Ivana's pic was SNC; I would have been wrong and have posted the next puzzle in error.........

So it's Gill's turn, then.

Fire when ready.......... :P

Matt
kitty-cat - 01.05.2007, 22:13

No, its ok, someone else can do it.

Gill xx
ABBAnator - 02.05.2007, 03:22

OK I guess we will go with Ivana's:

Fire&Ice wrote:

A silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II? could it be "Dancing Queen"?

(btw the only way you can tell thats QE2 is from the URL :? )
Fire&Ice - 02.05.2007, 10:15

Correct Bruce!

Yes you are right, you can tell it from the URL but I was too lazy to change the pic name and put it into photobucket.. :P
ABBAnator - 02.05.2007, 13:22

 OK next one, isn't she cute? :D

Nantes - 02.05.2007, 15:30

Bruce could it be Bang-A-Boomerang!
blauwbloempje - 02.05.2007, 15:45

I think it's Bang a boomerang :)

Lovelight was correct by the way!

And fow now, isn't anybody allowed to post pictures? I have another good one  If it's not okay just scream and i will remove it..

Fire&Ice - 02.05.2007, 16:39

Well, this must be I Saw It In The Mirror, (though I doubt that was what BJORN saw in the mirror   ) but let's wait for Bruce to confirm the Boomie picture.

  Look what I found for Sitting In The Palmtree:

Bjorn among his coconuts, or have they all fallen on the ground! :excited:
ABBAnator - 02.05.2007, 18:11

Nantes wrote: Bruce could it be Bang-A-Boomerang!

Indeed it is!

Take it away John!
PeopleNeedLove - 02.05.2007, 22:48

All yours, John........:D

Matt
Nantes - 03.05.2007, 22:17

Sorry been away overnight, whats this then!!
John
Lammer - 03.05.2007, 22:20

Is it a stage light? As in "Super Trouper" :?:
Nantes - 03.05.2007, 22:51

Yes Laura correct

your turn!

Matt this is a great game!
Lammer - 04.05.2007, 07:04

Wooooooo! and now I know how to post pics, too! Does the day get any better?

Okay, but no fair looking at the img description!

:)
ABBAnator - 04.05.2007, 09:19

Hmm ... since this is a picture of the house on Southfork ranch, (not far from where I live btw) and those are the fictional family the Ewing's, and they were (fictionally) very rich ... is it "Money Money Money"?
Lammer - 04.05.2007, 10:17

Good one, Bruce, however I was being more direct. What's the name of the show?

:)
Nantes - 04.05.2007, 10:53

The Show is Dallas,

Agnetha never missed a programme in The Day Before You Came

John
PeopleNeedLove - 04.05.2007, 11:38

^^ Shoot, John- You beat me........

Matt
Nantes - 04.05.2007, 12:27

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I'm JE not :cop: JR
Lammer - 04.05.2007, 17:52

Yes, that is correct, JE! By the way, does anyone remember who really did shoot JR, in probably one of the first season cliffhangers ever?

Your turn John. Better luck next time, Matt!
PeopleNeedLove - 04.05.2007, 21:42

Lammer wrote: Yes, that is correct, JE! By the way, does anyone remember who really did shoot JR, in probably one of the first season cliffhangers ever?

Kristin. Don't ask me how I knew that; I guess it was just so absolutely wildly famous that I remember it somehow, even though I was 3 years old at the time.......

Matt
Lammer - 05.05.2007, 06:16

*gasp* You were watching Dallas at the tender age of 3?
Yep, JR was messing around with his wife's younger sister, Kristin. It was so hard to believe this was the same man who played astronaut Tony Nelson!

:)
Nantes - 05.05.2007, 09:49

And the next one is:-

PeopleNeedLove - 05.05.2007, 12:46

Lammer wrote: *gasp* You were watching Dallas at the tender age of 3?

Doubt it, or at the very least, I don't remember it. My parents, particularly my dad, did indeed watch it, though, so maybe......

I do remember the absolutely insane hype around the JR thing, so it probably stuck somehow- or maybe I read/heard it after the fact.......

FWIW-

Or is it "Lovers"? or "Kisses Of Fire"?

Toni :wink1:
Nantes - 05.05.2007, 15:04

Toni, its one of them but which one?
Fire&Ice - 05.05.2007, 16:42

I think I know which one it is, but I'll let Toni answer!
Toni - 05.05.2007, 17:50

Kisses of Fire!

Please say yes, John, (I have a good next picture!)

Toni
Lammer - 05.05.2007, 18:35

(What does FWIW mean a few posts back?)
Fire&Ice - 05.05.2007, 19:38

Ok, I'd go for Lovers - because there are two pairs of them in the pic! :) (sorry Toni  )
Nantes - 05.05.2007, 20:19

Sorry Ivana but Toni is right. It was Kisses Of Fire.

Ok Toni now for your picture.
ABBAnator - 05.05.2007, 20:29

Lammer wrote: (What does FWIW mean a few posts back?)

OMG! FYI, FWIW = "For What It's Worth" IMHO. LOL

BTW .... :rotfl:
Toni - 05.05.2007, 22:18

Thank you John! Here is again something for Dallas Fans! What song is it?

Toni :D
Lammer - 06.05.2007, 08:29

ABBAnator wrote:

BTW .... :rotfl:

Funny! Thanks, Bruce. The smiley is quite appropriate, too, for it is called "rotfl," letters which I also had to have explained to me a several months ago.

Toni!! It's Me and Bobby and Bobby's Brother! Good one!!

I'll wait for the "green light."

:)
Toni - 06.05.2007, 09:14

Yes that´s right!

I give you "green light" for the next one, Laura!

(this is not an ABBA song, just the green light for Laura)

Toni :D
Lammer - 06.05.2007, 09:27

Nice green light!

Next:

spong - 06.05.2007, 11:30

"So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn, good-bye!"

Your turn, John!

:)
Nantes - 06.05.2007, 23:34

Ok what's this one then

Fire&Ice - 07.05.2007, 10:23

Gee! It looks like Chinese market in Belgrade!

Market? As good as new?
Nantes - 07.05.2007, 19:54

Yes Ivana, you've got it right.

Your turn.
Fire&Ice - 07.05.2007, 23:54

OK!

spong - 08.05.2007, 00:53

Bananas in pyjamas?

Lammer - 08.05.2007, 01:37

Should I  or  ?

:)
Fire&Ice - 08.05.2007, 10:41

You're next Laura! :D
Lammer - 08.05.2007, 18:15

Here are two pics for the same song (but it's not Two For the Price of One!)

:)
Nantes - 08.05.2007, 18:42

Laura your second picture didn't come through,
Could it be So Long!

Elaine waving and to empty chairs ?????

second picture just came through so I think I maybe wrong!!!!
Lammer - 08.05.2007, 20:56

Nantes wrote: Elaine waving and to empty chairs ?????

Try again. The second picture may help, if you got this TV show by you.

:)
PeopleNeedLove - 08.05.2007, 21:56

Elaine!!

Shoot, though- You took my idea for the next song. I was going to use the exact same idea..........

Matt
Lammer - 09.05.2007, 00:27

Leave it to the New Yorker to identify Seinfeld! Your turn, Matt!!
(John looked right past it!!)

LOVE Seinfeld; have seen every episode at least 10 times.

Just watched the one when they pitch the idea to NBC about the guy with no insurance becoming the other guy's butler. Sorry to those who don't watch Seinfeld; I can't explain it with more detail without taking up 52 paragraphs.........

Anyway- Laura took Plan A; here's Plan B.........

Matt
Lammer - 09.05.2007, 07:22

Oh! I know that one, but no fair for me to go again!
Seinfeld was great show, and I remember that episode you mentioned. I don't get to see the reruns very often, unfortunately. My husband and I saw Jerry Seinfeld perform stand-up at a comedy club in 1990 (our first date!). This was shortly before his show premiered.
Toni - 09.05.2007, 08:43

Cassandra (because the actress is Cassandra Peterson!)

Here is the next one:

Toni
spong - 09.05.2007, 10:31

hello

phwoooarr!!
wasn't her name Elvira?
we do get Seinfeld over here..it does seem to be popular althoughi'm not keen.
i do love Friends though

gary :D
Lammer - 09.05.2007, 17:36

Elvira was the character's name. The actress's name is Cassandra, and I think she has red hair. Well, that's what I would notice, anyway.

:)
Toni - 09.05.2007, 18:11

 Ok Ok, Gary & Laura, but what about my picture? :D

Toni
Lammer - 09.05.2007, 20:06

Well, Toni, do you mind? We are having a very important conversation here.
Anyhow, I'm not sure about your pic. It looks like Romeo and Juliet, so the first thing that came to mind was Hamlet III, with the Shakespeare connection. I can't think of an ABBA song about star-crossed lovers or double-suicide. :?:
Fire&Ice - 09.05.2007, 20:22

How about Gonna sing you my lovesong?
Toni - 09.05.2007, 23:49

Yes Ivana, you are right! :applause: :applause:

It´s your turn.

:DToni
spong - 10.05.2007, 10:10

hello

does that mean i only get to shout phwoar! at Elvira just one? :(
never noticed her hair...i was too busy looking at her mwumph (sound of foot in mouth)

gary :D

Next to be guessed and it is easy:

hello

Arrival?

gary :D
Fire&Ice - 10.05.2007, 16:41

Exactly!

Have just realised I put up a chopper without the propeller!
ABBAnator - 12.05.2007, 20:59

Gary, are you going to post a clue?
Fire&Ice - 12.05.2007, 23:39

"GARY! POST A PIC!!!", shouts Agnetha.
spong - 13.05.2007, 13:10

gary :D
spong - 13.05.2007, 13:25

(i hope i don't get jailed for defacing a national monument)

gary :D
Nantes - 13.05.2007, 16:23

I might be wrong but I think the first picture maybe a Town Hall, the second is a Train.

So I'm guessing Another Town Another Train
spong - 14.05.2007, 00:05

hello

you are wrong.

it's the front of Waterloo station.lol
sorry for laughing , John...it's easy for me to identify that but you made me laugh...i thank you for that.
i was going to accept Another town another train , so off you go John!

gary :D
Nantes - 14.05.2007, 19:18

Nice and easy
Toni - 14.05.2007, 19:53

I guess it can´t be wrong. I hope it´s okay, John, when I put the next picture already:

Toni you couldn't really go wrong. I had to put an easy one as I was in a rush!

John
Toni - 15.05.2007, 10:57

"Dum Dum Diddle" is right!

Gary, you can go on!

Toni :D
spong - 16.05.2007, 00:49

hello

cheers Toni
i'll have to try tomorrow..photobucket is a bit slow tonight.

gary :D
ABBAnator - 16.05.2007, 16:27

C'mon Gary, if your going to guess you have to be prepared to post another clue!

I think this is implied in the game rules.

(OK there aren't really any game rules ... but I'd like to get in on the game ... :P )
Fire&Ice - 16.05.2007, 17:23

This is what we could do - if the person who has guessed the previous song does not or can't post another pic until the next day, someone else is allowed to do it?
spong - 16.05.2007, 22:54

hello

sorry , sorry , i'll be there in a min.

Toni - 18.05.2007, 12:43

"marry"-go-round?

Toni 8)
Lammer - 18.05.2007, 17:38

Funny, but no.

How many pics did I include? That's a clue.

:)
Fire&Ice - 18.05.2007, 17:42

I do X 5!
Lammer - 18.05.2007, 17:46

Your turn, Ivana!

:)
ABBAnator - 18.05.2007, 17:57

Oh ... I thought it was "Five men giving away their masculinity for all eternity"

But that wasn't an ABBA song was it?

:rotfl2:
Lammer - 18.05.2007, 18:14

 What's your wife's cell number, Bruce? I need to have a talk with her.
Anyway, regarding their masculinity, well, I included pics of the wedding. I can't help what may or may not have happened on the honeymoon.

Now be nice and let Ivana take her turn.

Nina , pretty bellerina?

Slipping through my fingers? (such a sad song)
ABBAnator - 20.05.2007, 06:40

Lammer wrote:  What's your wife's cell number, Bruce? I need to have a talk with her.
 Well Laura ... I've been married for 21 years (in June) there's really nothing you could tell her that she doesn't already know. However, I refuse to give you her cell because the last thing I need is two women conspiring against me. (one is enough  )

Lammer wrote: Anyway, regarding their masculinity, well, I included pics of the wedding. I can't help what may or may not have happened on the honeymoon.
Ahem ... I did say "masculinity", not "manhood". :?

OK back to the game:

If Ivana's guess is incorrect, then since that appears to be a mother and daughter, I guess "My Mama Said" or "I am just a girl" or "Mamma Mia".

Ok 3 guesses is cheating but I'm gonna get in this game one way or another! :D If I can't I might get "Disillusion"ed. :rotfl:
Toni - 20.05.2007, 10:53

Ivana is right with "Slipping Through My Fingers".

I give up.

I finally find a game that I think is fun and as the saying goes I'm always "a day late and a dollar short".

I guess it's back to wreaking havoc on other parts of the forum ... (as usual) :P

Have fun everyone! Gary, looks like your up to bat.
spong - 20.05.2007, 20:01

hello

i was right?..blimey!
i use photobucket to size them propper-like
sometimes it can be annoying to say:

"i will post it when pb comes back up and is working properly"
like now..grrr..

gary :D
Fire&Ice - 21.05.2007, 08:19

How about Bruce posting one then? :) I understand his frustration given the time zones..
ABBAnator - 21.05.2007, 18:59

That's very kind of you Ivana  , but Gary guessed correctly and it is his turn. (Those are the rules afterall)

I promise to stop my whining however.
Fire&Ice - 21.05.2007, 22:08

All right, then! Rules must be obeyed!

But I don't want you to leave the game because of time-zones.. :(
spong - 22.05.2007, 00:05

hello

you lovely people!..aww.........

Good answer, John, but I meant something else. It´s an ABBA song.

Toni :D

John
ABBAnator - 02.06.2007, 19:42

Fire and Ice

Now what are we going to do?

Toni :D

I'm afraid I'm stumped. However, I'm admittedly not good at these subtle clues. I need a clue that "clubs you over the head" with the title. :P

Gary,

while you are enjoying yourselves I am busy with doing the daddy's, housewife's and janitor's job. I am quite busy reading a whole lot of topics even if I find them totally boring, talk to people to explain things, sweep up after some who need help to post pics or quotes, remove and lock topics, discuss with the moderator staff how to handle things, play Mr. Bad Guy for the naughty children, in short, do all the things your mother has done for you when you were a kid happily playing on your playgrounds.

The fact is that I simply do not have the time to play.

But it's ok. Never mind. I'm not complaining. It's a self-chosen fate.

Bruce if it is Mamma Mia for the reason you gave, don't worry about that I'm sure we European Brothers and Sisters have made our American Brothers and Sisters very puzzled over a few things.

John
Fire&Ice - 06.06.2007, 10:17

Actually, I wanted to post MM as well, but not because I knew about the commercial.

It it the typical Italian setting (look at the table cloth for example! ) and two people that could be Italian in their appearance, so Mamma Mia! Then I saw other clues and thought they were probably right, so I didn't! :D

No I don't play The Sims (when would I have the time? :P ), but my daughter was a Sims fanatic. She has all the original series games. Frankly I don't quite understand it because all they seem to do is work, watch TV, eat, sleep, use the bathroom ( ) and argue with one another. That's more or less real life, where's the game??

I think that game was probably geared for women.

As for Toni's clue:

I knew ABBA didn't record a song called "Disgusting." Sorry to you AC/DC fans. Actually, nostalgia is such a strong emotion (?) that even their songs sound good to me now. :P

Okay, the above was totally unnecessary. Hey, maybe those guys have nice bums? That will make it relevant!

:)
ABBAnator - 10.06.2007, 01:34

Well it's all relative isn't it? Compared to the musical acts of today like "Marilyn Manson" and the "Death Metal" bands coming out of Norway and Sweden, AC/DC were church choir boys.

Btw, I bought that album in 1979 Laura ... :D

I must say, I prefer AC/DC to KISS. As you said, it's all relative.

Fire&Ice - 12.06.2007, 12:35

Maybe this game should have specific rules..

I am playing a "guess the screenie - which game and level" game in my beloved Tomb Raider Lara Croft Community forum, and what makes that game even more interesting is giving points. It is a kind of competition which starts from the scratch every week, with a new topic "guess the screenshot week 34"...

If the person who guessed the game correctly is prevented from posting a new screenshot within 1-2 hours, someone else posts it and gets 1/4 point. That is just to keep the game going. There is even a prize - the winner of the week carries a title "Keen Eye Of The Week" and a smiley of a cute blinking sheep called Gigi!

Which means that when Europe sleeps, people in America/Australia/New Zealand etc can have their share of fun as well. It works in that TR forum perfectly.

Two for the Price of One?

Bruce,
I am all for some vicious competition. However, I do have to pledge loyalty to Gary. He lets me hide under his blue couch whenever I need to. Plus, we are conspiring together from both sides of the Atlantic, but I can't tell you our plot (however, it is even more ambitious than world domination).

John is itching to start up Survivor Summer '07, and that gets competitive and easily turns into a time-zone dependent game.

Ivana, if you want to keep score, by all means. Sounds complicated to me!

:)
Nantes - 12.06.2007, 20:15

sounds ok to me as well Ivana, over to you to keep score. Bound to be a few teething problems but we usually pull together as a group of people so it will work in the end.

Now that survivour game I'll start it on 1st July. If it doesn't take of well never mind but lets see.

John
Fire&Ice - 12.06.2007, 20:44

Oh NO I am terrible at mathematics.. even the simplest one.

But the system is simple whoever guesses a song in picture, gets one point. If the guesser can't post a picture, 1/4 of the point is given to the person who posts a new picture. That's all.

If someone would like to do it they are very welcome! 8)

Maybe we should do a poll about it?

Gary we're waiting for the green light for Lammer
ok I talked to Gary and told me to give you a green light
ABBAnator - 13.06.2007, 06:09

Gary,

In the interest of moving the game along I would like to suggest a couple of things (These suggestions would be universal to everyone participating in the game):

1. Please be prepared to post another clue when a confirmation of a correct guess is made.

2. After posting a clue, please check back with the game to confirm a correct guess if one is made.

These suggestions are made only to keep the game moving along as many members have shown an interest to participate. We as moderators endeavor to make the site enjoyable for as many members as possible.

Ivana,

I'm not sure I completely understand your "scoring" system. I'm not sure whether turning the game into a competition of sorts is the way to go or not. It would however be a way to move the game along for those that cannot for whatever reason post a clue or confirm a guess. Since Matt is the author of the game perhaps he can add his opinion as well. A "poll" might not be a bad idea also as the game (of course) is meant for the entertainment of all that participate.

Thanks to everyone for understanding and cooperation.

And oh yeah, Have Fun!

Joe_Bear wrote: ok I talked to Gary and told me to give you a green light

Did he really??? Hmmm...

I hope you know, Joe, that I was goofing around before.
Bruce, it's that time-zone problem... Perhaps if it is taking a long time for the puzzle-maker to reply, some of the other players can come to a consensus as to whether the guess is correct and the new puzzle can be posted... :?:

*ahem* In that case, I suggest 1/2 point be deducted from the first puzzle maker and split between the guesser and the other players who agreed that the game should continue, unless it is the weekend and then we can assume the puzzle maker is away, in which case the only 1/4 point be deducted and the guesser can go, but if the guesser is also away for the weekend, well, what nerve, let's deduct 1/8 point. Ivana can post the daily points every morning at 9am (her time), but if she is late, well, there goes 2/5 of a point. If anyone else can keep up the points, and post them by 9am (Ivana's time), then they can receive the 2/5 point Ivana lost, plus the remainder of any points lost by any other player within the last 24 hours of play, squared. Yes, I really did just take the time to type all this out, and you really did take the time to read it. :P

Laura, you sound just like the game-master over there, and this is just a fraction of an explanation as the game over there is more complex:

Quote:
(Clues/hints will be given if folks don't seem to be progressing so well , so if any poster of a screenshot will not be able to monitor people's guesses themselves, could they please PM the answer to me so that I can help provide the clues, as necessary.)

* Fine print subtleties (or do we mean complexities? ) about the 'Half-point rule':
(1) If 2 players guess correctly within a minute of each other, the second will gain half a point.
(2) If one player gives most of the correct information, only for another to give the rest of it (eg, a missing level name/number), then it is likely that the first player will be awarded ¾ of a point and the second ¼ of a point.
(3) Sometimes a person may be deemed to be very close to the correct answer but not correct - eg, a guess of "game 4" of a series when the answer is game 3. Then a second person gives the complete correct answer, later. In this case the first person will receive half a point for being so close and the second ¾ of a point (not a full point, despite the correct answer) because the first person's answer is deemed to have 'helped' a great deal. (Unless the second answer is within a minute of the first. In that case a full point will be scored, as the first answer couldn't 'reasonably' have been 'seen' by the second person .)
(4) On several occasions people have been unable to post a screenshot after having 'won' the previous point. (See discussion about players 'A' and 'B' above.) To 'reward' those in the position of 'player A' when this occurs (from now on) a ¼ point will be awarded for every 2 screenshots someone adds on behalf of others.
(5) The only people not allowed to guess a screenshot will be those who have scored at least half a point from the previous screenshot (as well as the builder of the game in question and the person who posts the screenshot, naturally, as stated above ).

And so it begins!

=========

Week #71 (10th - 16th June):

Spike ................ 4½
rjb ..................... 2
chrimajon ........ 3¼
Kitkat ................ 4
Dutchy .............. 1
Lady Croft ........ 3¼
elemess ............ 1
Marksdad .......... 1
TC14 ................. 1
Moonpooka ....... 1
eRIC .................. ¼ . . . . . . (Up to 12:02 GMT, Wed.) .

I am not sure I understand this system as well!

Mind, Lady Croft is sharing the third place in that screenshot game! :D

Anyway, I am not counting points etc etc as I have stated before as I easily make mistakes. I have just made a suggestion. Besides, it is recommended that a moderator does this job, and since this is incidentally Matt's topic, he should have a final word on everything. (Bruce is also a good candidate for the game-master thing  )

If people don't want any point system, fine with me.

Uh-uh, since I took on this moderating responsibility I have to read through all posts and make notes and logging in the moderating section. There is alot that goes on behind the scenes that folks don't realize. Johnny runs a very professional site here. Matt has these responsibilities also.

Also, I'm already the: Run my business, deal with customers, fix computers all night long, do my chores around the house, mow the lawn, fix the cars, keep my son in line, "try" to keep the wife happy ... MASTER! I simply don't have the time.

And you thought I didn't know it?

Anyway, here is the new song in picture:

It is a laugh Gary indeed! That system is too complicated because the game itself consists of guessing three different categories. In our case it would be easier, with a new rule here and there, to avoid the gap in playing it. The potential problem would be confirming or better said not confirming the guess. They PM the answer to a mod which won't be possible in our case etc. So I guess let's drop the competition. :P

I, personally, think it would be a LOT more trouble than it's worth, but I'm certainly not going to be a party pooper and shut the door on the whole thing.

If a majority of the group wants a point system, I give my blessing.

Just as long as I don't have to do that whole 1/4 point scoring thing......... :P

It was the best photo i could find for what I wanted. Ignore the fact that the couple holding hands.

PS - good guess Toni - I hadn't thought of that!
Fire&Ice - 15.06.2007, 20:04

One man one woman?

A note to Gary: there are no penalty points or its fractions in the game I am playing in TR forum! There are also no eights, thirds or fifths of points. Just one point, (1) three quarter of a point (3/4) , half a point (1/2) or quarter of a point (1/4).
imstillalive - 15.06.2007, 20:10

Sorry, it's not "one man one woman" either (good guess though!!).
Fire&Ice - 15.06.2007, 20:21

Can we have a tiny clue?

Oh, maybe it is Move on? :P
imstillalive - 15.06.2007, 20:34

Fire&Ice wrote: Can we have a tiny clue?

It's not Move On (you guys are really inventive - I wouldn't have come up with half of these).

Clue? Umm, the best clue I can give is ignore the fact that there is two people in the photo and pay attention to what they are doing (other than holding hands).
Fire&Ice - 15.06.2007, 20:36

They are walking, strolling...

And strolling down the Elysees...

Our last summer?
imstillalive - 15.06.2007, 21:14

:boogie: :blob1: :wine:

(sorry, got carried away...you're next Fire&Ice!)
Fire&Ice - 15.06.2007, 21:28

Alrighty!

It has been a good picture Imstillalive, though a bit sad, given that it could really be their last summer together because of their age.

Here is the new one:

Toni - 15.06.2007, 22:31

Watch Out?

Toni - 16.06.2007, 07:13

Sorry, but nope!

Toni :D
Lammer - 16.06.2007, 07:18

Maybe the ducks "made their way along the river and sat down in the grass..." as in Our Last Summer?

(I know that's not it!)
Toni - 16.06.2007, 07:27

It´s not "Our Last Summer", Laura, but I your answer is lovely. Joe Bear, your answer is very funny, too!

Toni :D
Joe_Bear - 16.06.2007, 07:45

Toni,
you did that picture yourself? that's pretty good!
I was tempted to go with Crazy World
"There's a couple of men in my life
And one of them is my brother Joe"

but I'll go with

"He's Your Brother"
Toni - 16.06.2007, 07:54

Yes, Mr Bear, "He Is Your Brother" is it! :blob1:

You´re next, Joe!

Pick A Bale Of Cotton / On Top Of Old Smokey / Midnight Special
Joe_Bear - 17.06.2007, 18:27

:agree: yes,
ABBAnator your turn
ABBAnator - 17.06.2007, 21:00

Fire&Ice - 17.06.2007, 22:42

Super Trouper?
Joe_Bear - 18.06.2007, 00:56

Since its a Storm Trooper it can't be Super Trooper because that is a muspelling the correct spelling is Super Trouper so I go with Soldiers for unobivous reasons
The first picture is Superman and the tv show always starts out with "What that in the distant is it a bird, is it a plane... no it's Superman." And the second picture it a Storm Trooper not a Storm Trouper

Soldiers
In the distance, but drawing near
Is it only a storm approaching

ok people, this is a Storm Trooper not a Storm Trouper
ABBAnator - 18.06.2007, 07:33

Super Trouper it was!

(it was a play on words)

Ivana your up.
Fire&Ice - 18.06.2007, 08:50

anni_frid1945 - 18.06.2007, 10:20

Geee Ivana could it get much harder??? I have to guess Dance (While The Music Still Goes On).

Here's mine but if I guessed wrong I can always remove it so I don't take anyones turn.

Tried to get something a bit difficult. Hope it's not TOO hard.

BROOKE
Fire&Ice - 18.06.2007, 11:58

Yep, you're right Brooke.

May I guess Happy New Year? (because of BB's Christmas cap?)
ABBAnator - 18.06.2007, 12:12

I hope it's not "Kisses Of Fire" because that would be a little gross!

(but at the same time a little funny  )
Toni - 18.06.2007, 20:10

Givin´A Little Bit More?

Toni 8)
Joe_Bear - 19.06.2007, 00:09

Bang A Boomerang!

"Sweet sweet kisses so tender"

plus the fact Taz and boomerangs booth come from Australia!?

that's all folks :P
anni_frid1945 - 19.06.2007, 11:39

You're right Bruce...It's kisses of fire.

Found the pic when I was flicking through my documents...don't know why I had it.

Now it's your turn Bruce.

:D BROOKE

anni_frid1945 wrote: Found the pic when I was flicking through my documents...don't know why I had it.
Probably because it was cute. The Tasmanian Devil was one of my favorite BB characters. Daffy Duck cracks me up too!

Bugs Bunny is the one cartoon that I can still enjoy as an adult from time to time (although I admit I haven't seen one for quite a while). Timeless classics just like ABBA. :D

Ok, here's the next clue:

anni_frid1945 - 19.06.2007, 13:05

Like An Angel Passing Through My Room...at least I think so
Here's a Daffy Duck one just for you Bruce...He's my fav Looney Tunes character too.

BROOKE :D
ABBAnator - 19.06.2007, 14:15

Yes that's correct. "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room".
(normally the protocol is to wait for a confirmation before posting another clue but that's OK)

Wasn't that a beautiful picture of an angel? I got it from the internet and I have a copy of it framed in my office. :D

Hehe! That's a great picture of Daffy, thanks Brooke! I think I know the answer but I'll let someone else guess as I've just posted a clue.
TexanKjun - 19.06.2007, 15:46

Money Money Money
Toni - 19.06.2007, 18:02

Lay All Your Love On Me? (it was like shooting a sitting duck  )

Toni
Lammer - 20.06.2007, 02:26

I can't believe no one commented that Joe Bear's last pic wasn't a Storm Trooper, but a Storm Pooper (or maybe everybody else has better taste... ha ha, who am I kidding?)
Looneytunes: We used to watch Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner cartoons in physics class and point out all the impossibilities (like the huge boulders balancing on the edge of the mountains...).

I can't think of another guess; MoneyX3 sounds good to me, too.

:)

I can't guess anything better than MMM which is all ready taken, and I have The Gold Diggers' Song (We're In The Money,) stuck in my head

TexanKjun Your answer was right.
Sorry about posting the pic before you confirmed Bruce.

BROOKE :D
ABBAnator - 20.06.2007, 09:46

No need to be sorry Brooke, just make sure you come back to play the game. Your clues are fun. Every time I look at that Daffy picture it makes me laugh!

johnny59 - 20.06.2007, 15:41

Disillusion?
TexanKjun - 20.06.2007, 15:53

No it's not Disillusion. Good guess!
johnny59 - 20.06.2007, 16:03

TWTIA

"the loser standing small"
TexanKjun - 20.06.2007, 16:11

It's not TWTIA. There is a something in the lyrics of the song that describes what's in the picture. Hmmmm.......
Fire&Ice - 20.06.2007, 18:14

The king has lost his crown?
TexanKjun - 20.06.2007, 18:22

No, that's not it. :rotate:
johnny59 - 20.06.2007, 18:24

I thought of this one but wasn't sure if the yellow thing is supposed to be a crown and can be considered lost. (as it's apparently still there.)
Fire&Ice - 20.06.2007, 18:30

I'd say it is half way down..

Cryin' over you?
TexanKjun - 20.06.2007, 18:35

Yes that's it! "Oh Lord I’m blue, I’m cryin’ over you" Your turn Ivana.

If there were songs from solo albums in this topic, I'd say Tango i det grona, but this way I could say

Fernando (tango version from the Box set) but I am not sure.. :?
ABBAnator - 21.06.2007, 13:43

Laura,
I have no idea what mushrooms has to do with "Take".
(but then I'm a little slow sometimes)

TexanKjun,
I don't have a guess, but about those turtles dancing I wanted to add:

:rotfl2:

Bruce :D
TexanKjun - 21.06.2007, 15:00

No it's not Fernando.
Toni - 21.06.2007, 19:02

Dance (while the music still goes on)?

Toni :wink1:
TexanKjun - 21.06.2007, 19:25

Toni - 21.06.2007, 19:30

TexanKjun - 21.06.2007, 22:48

Wrong answer. Think..... slow
Toni - 21.06.2007, 22:57

Ok, one more try: "Andante Andante"?

Toni :D
Lammer - 21.06.2007, 23:50

Toni gets an A for effort! That last guess sounds good, too.

Bruce, they were shi-take mushrooms, so it was "Shi-Take Chance (on) ME." That's all I meant. I hadn't thought of that other reference you seemed to make. (so am I now the one being slow?)

By the way, I can't help what those mushrooms are called. I didn't mean to isolate the syllables that way. I re-spelled it to have only one T. My apologies to those under 18.

:)
TexanKjun - 21.06.2007, 23:56

Yes, Toni the correct answer is Andante Andante! Turtles are slow plus there are two of them: Turtle Turtle = Andante Andante. :applause: Your turn!

Oh, I've never heard of those mushrooms so that's why I didn't get it. My wife does the cooking in my household, I do the eating! :D 8)

Also, I wasn't making any kind of reference so I'm afraid you've lost me again Laura.
(I did say I was slow sometimes)
Joe_Bear - 22.06.2007, 05:31

Lammer,
I thought that was clever, but at first I only got the mushroom reference and I had to think what Shi-take mushroom Monopoly Maine meant. :P

Joe_Bear - 24.06.2007, 07:56

most likely the Lammer you got it right, but I'll guess Me and Bobby and Bobby's brother
