I'm not a Gackt fan really. and I have confused feelings about him.
I love his music, he makes good songs. my favourite are U+K, Wasurenai Kara, Orenji no Tayou. Great songs! And I also like his voice. I melt everytime I listen to him :oops:
but I so hate his perfomences, his disgusting fanservice and the way he moves on stage. br! Dislike it!
It's better for me to just listen to his songs and don't watch him.

I personally hate when people narrow their view of Gackt's live-performances to that one single live published in 2000 (shooted in 1999).
He hasn't done anything like that fanservice ever since, and that's like.. 8 years ago.
I have all his live tours (yes, that MARS-one too, but I rarely watch it, exactly because I don't like that hump-jumping. My dear prescious Chacha who acted like a fool there.. *hmphs*), and absolutelu recommend watching all of them from Kagen no Tsuki no Diabolos.
This man totally knows how to make a show. He gives 110% of himself every time, and the performances are also visually magnificent.
Not to mention his voice, that carries the long, exhasting performances through. (DIABOLOS Live, 3 hous. Exquisite.)
And about his dancing.. *grins*
Well, it's just "gacktway" to move. And actually, in DIABOLOS it isn't that bad. When he really follows the coreography with the dancers, it's fine ^^

you think I could write it watching only one perfomance? I saw a lot of them on youtube. but this 2000 is one of his concerts so it still counts and still he DID this gross fanservice. and I actually like fanservice but that went too far.
sorry, don't get offended or something like that. I'm just writing what I'm feeling. I still think he's very talanted.

I would just say dancing doesn't suit him a lot. he just looks ridiculous when he dances. :lol:

Nay, you got me wrong here.
Sorry if my reply seemed agressive, it was no way meant to be.
I meant to state, that a lot of people see that Vanilla-live and make their minds and categorize Gackt all and whole based on that one. No offense towards you, did absolutely not mean to. I apologize.
Opinions are always personal, and you shouldn't try to change anyone's own. Not trying to do that either.
..maybe I should use more smileys to lighten up my writing..? hmm. 8)
Just saying that MARS-minitour was his first livetour in 1999-2000 and he was clearly searching his style.
And he never did that again ;)
Thank god, I still have somewhat chills seeing Chacha (Chacha of all people!) act like that...

No, I don't know anything about him. :oops: maybe he's really amazing as you say
but if he was a real legend I would definitely know about him.
What's actually legend? Legend is X-Japan (no comments),legend is L'Arc~en~Ciel, Glay and Dir en Grey.But Chacha... don't know... :roll:

Well, I can sure you he is. Not just in the pop/rock-scene but more Prog and being more in the background.
He's responsible for the legendary GERARD's (Toshio Egawa, genious!) both guitars and vocals, not to mention the Prog-supergroup Vienna, where he also played guitar and sung.
In Japan, he's called "the legendary guitarist of Kansai", and for a reason. He is one of the most honored guitarists and is famous for his legendary agressice guitars in Vienna-times and the dreamy ones in GERARD.
He actually helped X Japan with recording and producing BLUE BLOOD and he was the one who wrote some songs for X's Toshi, when he went solo. Chacha also plays the guitar parts in Toshi's early albums, composed a few songs for him and was with him on tour too.
His compositions are very many-layered, I'm having so much trouble when trying to play even the simpliest ones with the guitar.. *blush*
And, of course, in 1999 he was asked to help a new, rising talent. That, of course, being our little Gackt ;)
Ohwell, I was supposed only to write a few lines but me.. and keeping my answers short.. so not gonna happen.. *shrugs*
I'll write more about Chacha when I actually have time. You can wait for a complete history from me. Also, I can up some of his works when I get to that :wink:
