Agnetha featuring ...
During her career, Agnetha recorded a lot of songs with other singers. I was wondering: what do you all think of those duets? Never Again and I Wasn't The One two examples, and I like them best. Both have wonderful vocals and a good lyric, although I Wasn't The One is my favourite. The Way You Are is a good one as well.
I like the duets she did. Her voice sounds much more wonderful in some of them, because of that 'contrast' between a male and a female voice. Agnetha's vocals are wonderful in each song, but I'm not very fond of that duet-sound because of the males voice. What do you all think about those songs? Do you like them or not?

To be honest, I hate them. I'm always turning dark green of envy when I hear and see those blokes singing with her.

I'm not madly keen on the duets but I think the person whom Agnetha should do a duet with is still out there and his name is Andrea Bocelli.

I like almost all of her duets.
"Sjung denna sang" with Jörgen Edman sounds very nice.
Her albums with Linda and Christian are cute.
"Never Again" with Tomas Ledin is one of my favorites.
Also very enjoyable are her duets with Ola Hakanson: "The Way You Are" and "Fly Like The Eagle".
What I don´t like is the (in my ears) totally boring "I Wasn´t The One" with Peter Cetera.
My absolutely favorite of her duets is "Sa här börjar kärlek" with Björn Ulvaeus :D I love it!

agnetha's duets
i love her duet with tomas ledin but really i don't like the fact that she recorded with her children. It's not compatible with her principes about her private life. They were very young also.
Her duet with Peter Cetera is not as good as we can hope between two great stars like them. Meanwhile, i love her duets with Secret Service.

I love the fact that she recorded with her children.
They enjoyed it and mama Agnetha did so as well. And they sold pretty well in Sweden.
I never listen to these albums but then again... I am not 10 anymore... lol!
I like the duets with Peter Cetera and Tomas Ledin and I even like the Spanish versions better.
Not too keen on The Way You Are (that 80's sound) but I like the harmonies a lot.
Her Swedish duets... never listen to them...

Poor Johnny. ;) I must admit I thought Never Again sounded horrible for a moment after hearing it wasn't only Agnetha* who did the vocals. I don't know much about the songs she did with her children actually. Maybe one of the albums I will buy in future. Pierre, why don't you like I Wasn't The One? I like Peter Cetera's sound a lot, especially because of the album he did with Agnetha. Besides, it's a good song. I'm suprised to read many of you seem to dislike that song: I think it sound much better than for example The Way You Are. (like that song too though)

agnetha's duet
Hello Dancing queen,
I don't like "i wasn't the one" because, for me, Peter Cetera in solo and especially with Chicago is one of the best singer and songwritter of californian rock and this track, in my mind, is "light", very FM and must be making dreaming.
I don't dream with this song.

Pierre I have all solo albums by Peter Cetera and his songs are very much soft pop/rock. The same style as the duet with Agnetha.
Ballads are all over the place and he does not sing many up tempo songs.
I like his work a lot and even better than the work he did with Chicago (ok If You Leave Me Now is a classic).

Yes Ron, you are surely right. I have also two cd from Peter Cetera and one best of from Chicago and it's cool, but rock too. I think that i am not totally objective about the record "i stand alone".
Bien à toi,
Pierre

Hey that would be a good one.
I personally love I Wasn't The One with Peter Cetera and I do not mind Agnetha's other Duets. I love also Never Again, That is very nice.

Just because Agnetha recorded songs with her children doesn't mean she has compromised her own ethics! It on no way detracted from her fervent belief to have a private life and protect her children. It's something I'm sure she did for fun so that Linda and Christian could look back on it when they were older, which I'm sure they do and both they and Agnetha should be proud. It was a very sweet thing to do.

Hello Joe,
Sorry but for this point i am not ok with you. I have 3 children and even i am not a star, i think that your ethic must be without exception.
Like many of yours, i think cute to hear her son ar Linda but really, i don't understand why she exposed her children and asking at the same time at the media to respect her private life. In France, Isabelle Adjani made the same with the medias. In the festival de Cannes, the photograph didn't accept to making pics of her when she arrived but never she admitt to making pics with her 2 children etc.
It's only my position and i respect the fact that many of fans like the both albums and consider "that it was a very sweet thing to do". Just a question: what think Christian and Linda about this?
Pierre

Hi Pierre,
thanks for making your points and I do understand where you are coming from. The thing is I know what you mean about exposure but I really don't think the level of exposure was so great or detrimental to her children. And the proof is in the pudding- both Linda and Christian seem to have turned out well balanced, healthy individuals.
And it's not as if Agnetha was parading them through the streets; they made an album together, that's all!
Anyway, I respect your point of view and I gather you're a parent so I know you are coming from a good place; if I had kids perhaps I would be over protective? I just don't think that Agnetha did a 'bad' or 'wrong' thing by singing with her children- I really believe it was fine for her to do this.
My best to you,
Joe

Me again!LOL
Also, my belief is that Agnetha's problem with the media and wanting to be left alone was because of all the lies that have been printed about her but of course as a person with a talent she's in the awkward position of having to collude with the press at times because 'that's show business, folks'!
She couldn't win.

'Mamma Agnetha... here we go again!'

My favourite Agnetha's duets are those recorded with Ola Hakansson The Way You Are and Fly Like The Eagle.

i love all her duets... including the swedish ones. the duets with ola hakansson are terrific.
so har borjar karlek is beautiful as well !!!
what i think is missing is a duet with julio iglesias. both have this romantic style of singing, their voices would be great together and lift eachother up. a latin touch could add something totally new to agnetha, and who is better at that but julio ! i wish they would consider it...

I adore Tomas Ledin
He is one of my favourite singers..and I met him thanks to Agnetha..because I love the song Never Again. they were cute together..playing in love and in fact, Tomas is married to Stikkans daughter, they have 2 sons.
I knew Peter Cetera from Chicago, always liked the music and his voice..so I didn't mind. The only thing that annoyed me was that they didnt make the video together
Maxi-saxi - 24.07.2007, 05:00
You have made a good point about the Video clip.
I have never seen the point of making the clip to the duet with Agnetha pushing a bike through the streets of Stockholm.
They missed a great opportunity in making a clip. They could have recorded Agnetha's & Peter's clip in the studio.
Or made a clip while Agnetha was in the States.

I wish Agnetha had duetted with Elvis Presley. That would be beautiful: Two of my favourite singers together :)
I am not a great fan of any of the duets she did, but The Way You Are is nice.
