Nach dem Motto "Alles muss raus" hat Glen Azalone, auch bekannt als "Glen Danzig", alles an unveröffentlichten Tracks seiner langen Karriere auf zwei CDs gepackt, und ist nun bereit, diese für ein paar Tacken an den Herren bzw. die Dame zu bringen.
"Lost Tracks Of Danzig" heisst die Komplilation, die ihr ab dem 29.Mai käuflich erwerben könnt. Die enthaltenen Lieder stammen aus der gesamten Schaffenszeit Danzigs seit 1988, und strotzt mit einem 12 seitigem Booklet voller Bilder und Anekdoten zu jedem einzelnen der 26 Songs. Neben selbstgeschriebenen Stücken gehören dazu auch einige Cover-Versionen, wie zB. von David Bowies "Cat People", T.Rexs "buick MacKane" oder The Gems' "Caught In My Eye"
Zu den hörenswerten Tracks gehört sicher auch de akustische Version von "Come To Silver", einem Lied, dass Glen Danzig ursprünglich für Johnny Cash schrieb, jedoch dann später durch den Computer schickte und als verhunzte Industrialversion mit Gesang wie durch's Babyfon auf "Blackaciddevil" packte.

Die Klangqualität lässt zwar schwer zu wünschen übrig, aber des is zurzeit die einzige in der Öffentlichkeit bekannte Version va Cold Cold Rain!
Trotzdem kau i zurzeit va dem einfach net gnuarg kriagn, i kriag direkt Ganslhaut wenn i ma vorstöh wie die glasklare Version vom 2 CD Boxed Set klinga wird...

Der Typ wos do dazwischen quatscht is übrigens da ehemalige Bassist va Danzig namens Eerie Von, der den Song als Christmas Special übers Telefon an Radio Sender zuarkuma lossen hot ;)

So do san detailierte Songreviews za die Lost Tracks, die in 3 Wochen rauskommen:
01. Pain Is Like An Animal –
Killer track to start the cd with! Some of you have had a taste of this track since it was posted this week at: http://www.ruemorgueradio.com/
Fast, up tempo song that has that classic Danzig feel to it. I had heard a version of this that had been leaked out years earlier. It is amazing to hear this track finally come to life in true form.
02. When Death Had No Name (1st version) – Great to hear this version which is from the Danzig I sessions. Danzig played this song many times during their early tour years so it is definitely a fan favorite.
03. Angel of the Seventh Dawn
Good to finally hear this song since it was the name of the fan club back in the day. Definitely sounds like it would be from the Danzig II sessions. Mid-tempo beat with early classic vocals and a killer guitar lead.
04. You Should be Dying
Another song that sounds like it’s from the Danizg II sessions. This one has a great guitar riff that hooks you in. Glenn shouts out the chorus: ”Dying. Dying. Dying. You should be Dying.” One of my favorites from this release.
05. Cold, Cold Rain
Of course we were all waiting for this one since clips from this song had made it on to the internet. The clips were terrible in quality, but the main thing that everyone noticed was the incredible vocals on this song. Definitely a true Danzig classic that really shows that Elvis influenced vocal style.
06. Buick McKane
One of the best songs on the album. This is a cover song from T-Rex, but with a Danzig style twist to it. The guitar riff and Glenn’s vocals are big standouts on this one.
07. When Death Had No Name
This is the 2nd version of the song on this release. You can definitely tell the progression of the song compared to the 1st version. This one was from the Danzig III recording sessions.
08. Satans Crucifiction
Slow, evil, Black Sabbath sounding song. This one is also one of my favorites. I don’t see this one fitting in Danzig 4p, but glad it finally came out. One if the heavier songs. I can’t get the chorus out of my head. “Satan’s cross points to hell.”
09. The Mandrake’s Cry
Now this song I could potentially see fitting in with the rest of Danzig 4p. Mid-to-Up tempo song that has some killer drum rolls.
10. White Devil Rise
Fans have also been waiting for the release of this one. Not a fast song, but the lyrics are pretty heavy on this song. Small break in the middle of the song, but then comes back with the heavy chorus: ”White Devil Rise”
11. Come to Silver (Acoustic)
This one is just Glenn singing along with an acoustic guitar. Originally this was written for Johnny Cash. The first time Glenn recorded this song it was through an old vita phonic, but this time around it was recorded through a regular studio mic.
12. Deep
Most of the fans heard this song when it was originally released on the X-files sound track. Killer tribal drums on this song.
13. Warlok
I could see this song used on a movie soundtrack. The intro reminds me of the song “cough/cool.” (old Misfits song) The chorus on this one stays with you and also highlights Glenn’s vocals. Another one of my favorites from this album.
Disc Two:
01. Lick the Blood Off My Hands
This song reminds me of “Hint of Her Blood” from Danzig 5. Slow kinda tribal drumming throughout the song.
02. Crawl Across Your Killing Floor
Very dark and bluesy song that never made it to Danzig 6. Glenn sounds great on this one, also has some killer guitar leads. This is also the first video shot for the album.
03. I Know Your Lie
This one has almost a funk type groove to it. This one definitely sounds like it would fit in with Danzig 6.
04. Caught In My Eye
Very much like the original Germs version.
05. Cat People
I was not familiar with the David Bowie version. The first minute or so of the song starts out with a low vocal and then kicks into a heavy guitar riff and the song takes off. This songs would probably sound killer played “live.”
06. Bound by Blood
This is another great song which is definitely one of my favorites from the album. I could definitely see this on Danzig 7. I think this would have been the lead or theme track if it would have been released on Danzig 7. Mid-tempo song with killer guitar solos and great vocals. A true Danzig classic.
07. Who Claims the Soulless
This one did not make Danzig 7, but I could see this one on Danzig 7 or even Danzig 6. Some killer drum work on this one by Joey C.
08. Malefical
Very slow, moody, evil sounding song. Best way to describe this one is that it reminds of me “Pain In the World” from Danzig II. I remember going to the studio and hearing Glenn working on this one. Good to see it on this album.
09. Soul Eater
For some reason this one reminds me of a Rob Zomie song. Not sure if this would necessarily fit in any of the Danzig albums. Fast driving song, sounds like this could be Tommy Victor on guitar.
10. Dying Seraph
Ever heard Danzig sing a jazz song? I guess this would be the best way to describe this one. A very unique sounding song for Glenn.
11. Lady Lucifera
The guitar riff on this one just sounds evil. Slow, evil, and very catchy. Great way to end the album.
12. Under Belly of the Beast
A killer remix of “Belly of The Beast” from Danzig 6.
13. Unspeakable Shango Mix
Killer remix of “Unspeakable” from Danzig 6.
