The Ark - The Worrying Kind
Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in Finland this year is the song The Worrying Kind by a band called The Ark (they had an international hit with Echo Chamber some years ago).

The intro to this song sounds very very similar to ABBA's Waterloo intro... A nice homage? Or a lack of creativity?

Did anyone else hear the song?

He-he, those were exactly my thoughts as well, Marnix! A few seconds after the opening of the song, there's riffs sounding just like a certain part of "Waterloo". I kind of jumped in my chair, as soon as I heard them. :shock:
Well, the song won the Swedish outtake, and can be heard in the Eurovision Song Contest. It's a good song, and they give a h... of a performance, too. 8)
Songwriter and singer Ola Salo has spoken about his admiration for Bjørn and Benny / ABBA several times. I think he might be just a little bit inspired by them, this time... :)

"The Worrying Kind" is fabulously catchy - has nothing to do with ABBA - but has some similarity to "Love grows where my Rosemary goes" (Fridas "Där du går lämnar kärleken spår") but in a different beat! And the singer Ola Salo is so wonderfully gifted as an artist!

The Ark is my absolute favourite for Eurovision this year!

They're all over youtube...

Exactly, it's only for about 5, 6 seconds or something. Both intro's sound very similar, but that's it.

Sarah Dawn Finer has a lovely voice and alsoa connection with abba, as she was a backing vocalist on My Colouring Book
