    music
What kind of music do you like?
I like almost all kinds of music, but Anastacia and Native music are my favourites.
Have you heard of the swedish group The Ark?
They will be in Eurovision song contest. :D

I love soundtracks. My favourite one is the King Arthur soundtrack  I listen to almost every kin of music, but I prefer music without any lyrics, but that's still powerful.

    Re: music

Nope, havenīt heard of the band ...

well, me too, I do like all kinds of music - Music makes the world go around !!! I donīt care if the music Iīm listening to is "up to date" or not ... it needs to touch me somehow ...

    Re: music

    emerald - 11.03.2007, 23:31

I like a lot of different types of music, hmm, where should I began? I'm into christian (R&B style, gospel, native american christian), I love native american pow wow style music also and world music, i have a lot of puremoods Cds, Egyptian, middle eastern and african music in my collection. I also like some R&B depends on the lyrics, Amel Larrieux is one of my favorites! haha, and some popular music is nice but I'm not referring to the bubble gum kind, I'm talking about Seal, Sting, zero 7 and the Jazzy michael buble' and a bit of soft rock/alternative songs are cool. Hmm, did I leave anything out? Oh yes, Soundtracks and nature sounds, it's good when writing or relaxing.

I'm going to have to agree with Idril. The King Arthur soundtrack is my favourite too, closely followed by the LOTR soundtracks. But I will listen to anything from classical to reggae, from rock to rap, to latin music and everything in between! But, as I get older, the lyrics become more important to me. I find it harder to justify listening to a catchy beat if the lyrics aren't meaningful. I'm listening to Sarah McLachlan at the moment.

    Re: music

I'll join you ladies saying it depends on the mood. It's easier to list the music I don't like!! HAHAHAHA

Right now I'm liking Southern Rock, 80's & 90's Country, 80's Punk/Pop, and some popular, but not much.

Evenstar- do you have Wintersong? The Brothers McMullen? Those are my faves right now by her.

    Re: music

    evenstar - 13.03.2007, 08:44

I have listened to "Wintersong". I was just listening to her new stuff on her myspace page. I was deciding between "Wintersong" and "River" for my profile song, but I settled on "River" in the end. I really love that song right now! :D I'm not even sure that you can get her albums here in Australia. I must look into that!

I just got a few CDīs from a friend - she is into that Dark Wave Stuff and on the last Dark Wave Party in our Youthcenter they were playing all these good old 80īs stuff ... awwwwwwww now Iīm listening to all this good Punk and Wave stuff ... so many memories are coming back to my mind !!! It was a great time !!!! I try to find some old pics of me ... I was really looking wild - LOL

I told you guys about Fastnacht in Germany - when people get dressed up and my daughter had the idea to get dressed as a Punk next year. My mom started  and got scared. I told my daughter that I still have my old leather jacket (torn and with a "Bauhaus" painting on the back) and my daughter went "oh, did you get dressed up as Punk as well when youīve been in my age?" and my mom answered "no, this was a permanent state in your momīs life" LOL and so I told my daughter about mom being a real Punk !!! Now she wants to see pictures ... LOL

I still love that music !!!

    Re: music

I guess The Ark is not so famous in other countries as the magazines here in Sweden say. :( They are a great band.
Watch out Europe here they come!!

I LOVE THIS ONE !!! Iīve choosen it for my next step-performance, whenever that will be !!! It makes me dance !!!

And maybe you know Bon Joviīs actual song? IT`S WONDERFUL - it made me cry at work !!! ... and whereever I listen to it. Itīs not often that songs do touch me that way. This one does it !!! ("Make a Memory")
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbPda8TDLLU

Hello again, it's you and me
Kinda always like it used to be
    Sippin' wine, killing time
    Trying to solve life's mysteries

    How's your life, it's been a while
God it's good to see you smile
I see you reaching for your keys
Looking for a reason not to leave

If you don't know if you should stay
If you don't say what's on your mind
    Baby just breathe
There's nowhere else tonight we should be

    You wanna make a memory?

I dug up this old photograph
Look at all that hair we had.
It's bittersweet to hear you laugh
Your phone is ringing I don't wanna ask

If you go now, I'll understand
If you stay, hey, I've got a plan
    We're gonna make a memory
You wanna steal a piece of time
You can sing the melody to me
And I can write a couple of lines

    You wanna make a memory?

If you don't know if you should stay
And you don't say what's on your mind
    Baby just breathe
There's nowhere else tonight we should be
    We Should be

    You wanna make a memory
You wanna steal a piece of time
You can sing the melody to me
And I can write a couple of lines

    You wanna make a memory?

Music. I think I'm addicted to the stuff. It's insane how much I download for my iTunes/iPod and it's never enough, I always want more and something "new" (never quite know what "new" is until I hear it).

I'm all over the place with my music - my iPod is loaded with every genre possible as I never know what I'll be in the mood to listen to. Here's a sample - Rammstein, Beastie Boys, Keane, My Chemical Romance, Holst's Planets, Robbie Robertson, Northern Cree Singers, Depeche Mode, Sean Kingston, K-Os, Wolfmother, Rihanna, Led Zepplin, The Clash, Green Day, DJ Tiesto...and the list goes on and on and all over the place. :D

Then there are the mixes that I find, the compilations - have this one from Italy (super expensive to buy here) but it's Native music through the years - traditional to modern. There are soundtracks - Dance Me Outside, A Good Year, Kundun, Dances With Wolves (amazing). One of my favourite powwow artists is Eagleheart Singers & Drummers, old CD, I do believe I bought it at a powwow years ago, they were there.

Plus I then make my own playlists - some are insanely long - others short and they're all over the place - some rock, other's electronic, or punk, or some oldies (aka Frank Sinatra and the like).

Yeah...I truly think I'm addicted.

music is a universal language - I have a large collection of different bands and different types of music. I love to go to sleep listening to native american flute music and have my fountain going.

Music is everything to me. I'm still searching for the "soundtrack to my life" though.

    back to US 5!!!

Itīs a casted boyband and my daughter likes them ... they are in Baumholder (remember the US Army base near by) and the show will be for free!

A friend of mine, whoīs daughter is 8 and friends with my daughter, asked me if I would like to go there on Friday. We gonna surprise the girls !!! They will freak out! We wonīt tell them where we are going and although the place will be crowded, I know that they will enjoy it. Iīm looking forward to it - not the band LOL, but to see my daughterīs face when she realizes whatīs going on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just yesterday her friend said to her mom: "Mom, I would give a 1000 Euro - even a million - if I could see US 5 once in my life!" So why donīt help the girls to make their dream come true ... especially if itīs for free !!!

    Re: music

    evenstar - 28.06.2007, 09:35

Aww, I love surprising kids with treats like that. I would love to see their faces too! This is why Christmas is so much more fun when there are kids around - these things are so much more exciting for them than us.

Hey, are the US 5 boys Native too?

    Re: music

    enelya06 - 28.06.2007, 14:05

Kids and Christmas go together. I enjoy the Christmas season but once you become an adult and/or your children are older - it does take the fun out of it. When Keri was small I was just as excited as she was on Christmas morning. Now it's like I get excited but not that much....if that makes sense

    Re: music

    Idril - 29.06.2007, 21:12

It's the same here. As long as I was a child I loved christmas. Not I still like it, but not that much anymore. I don't know if that makes sense :?

It was a great show last night !!!! REALLY !!!! Took lots of pics cause I was allowed to go backstage - means I was allowed to stay right in front of the stage together with all the professional photographers ... so I was very close to US 5 and had the screaming girls right behind me! I took some great pics for Milena and her friend - damn, the girls were so excited !!! First they couldnīt believe that they really gonna see US 5 !!! Iīll post some pics later the day ...

    Re: music

This is some info on US5 in English:

US5, the American group from Pop Mogul Lou Pearlman, was formed from the hit TV reality show “Big in America.” The series narrowed down a list of young men by sending them through a mini industry boot camp to develop their talent. Broadcast on one of the biggest networks in Germany, the frenzy over this sensation began before they could catch their breath. They hit No. 1 on the German Billboard Charts with their debut single “Maria” and received the German Radio Music Award for “Best Newcomer 2005.”

“This is the ultimate boy band” says Pearlman, proud of his musical empire Trans Continental Records. He has explained, “As long as God keeps making little girls, there will always be boy bands.” His portfolio reads like the Who’s Who of international pop success with names such as the Backstreet Boys, ‘N SYNC, LFO and O-Town, just to name a few. Pearlman and his acts have sold over 65 million albums and with the addition of US5 to the roster, millions more will be added.

US5 consists of Michael (German),Chris (German), Jay (British), Izzy and Richie (both Americans). The group now lives in Berlin and is working with the famous Berlin production duet, Mike Michaels and Mark Dollar of Triple M Music. Michaels and Dollar boast about the boys, “Each of the five has so much musical and dancing talent that together they are easily unbeatable!”

What I wonder is, that none of you has heard of them before ... but I guess, they are not popular in the States at all. They changed their music and clothing style and I have to admit, that they do sound pretty good. Doesnīt make me a fan, but they really werenīt that bad! As an aerobic and dance instructor I watched their movements very carefully and they had simple steps but very powerful movements. Itīs hard work to do. My friend and I really understood why the young girls like them that much !!! LOL

oh, they are on myspace. If anyone wants to listen to them, hereīs the link:

His hair is pretty cool Anne- you should let your's grow out and try this style. I think it would look good on your little head.

It reminds me of the Posh Spice look- but I don't like her, so we'll just refer to it as the Izzy hair.

    Re: music

Yes, I donīt like "Posh Spice" either and "Izzy hair" sounds good. But this style is not for me - I donīt like having any hair hanging into my eyes !!!! LOL

My daughter starts giving her Izzy-pics to me - awwwwwwwwwww! I just wanted to be nice when I told her that I think that Izzy is cool - LOL - now she is thinking that Iīm an Izzy-fan! Re: music

everybody is talking bad about US5 ... ask Idril ... making fun out of them and stuff. Well seen it from a professional point they are just "another" boyband, but I have to say that itīs hard work and not only fun. The dancing stuff is extremely hard to do and to travel all the time, always to be in a good mood and stuff is not easy to do ... so I have to pay my compliments to the boys. I mean Izzy and Richie are both Americans and now have to live in Berlin ... no family life at all ... thatīs anther hard thing to do for young men. I have a few songs of US 5 on my aerobic Cdīs - itīs a different mix so and itīs not too bad then . Now my daughter wants me to do an step choreographie to one of the songs and teach her and her friend - LOL - I may do it

    Re: music

plus they have to do some extra fitness training and stuff! They do get watched very carefully and get told what they are allowed to do and what not ... Therefore I think they deserve some respect as well ... sure those casted bands are always kind of funny and from some of them you never hear more than only one song ... US5 does have some good songs as well. Can you guys in the States get their CDīs at all?

    Re: music

    newnativspirit - 03.07.2007, 16:08

I found this on the internet:

In looks, US5 are a total copy of O-Town, right down to a dread-locked Jacob-wannabe and a long-chinned Dan mk.2, except they replaced Erik with a pointless extra blonde boy. The problem is, they're not even as good looking as O-Town, and they weren't exactly the best looking boyband of all time in the first place. There really is nothing original about US5. If they think everyone's forgotten about the Backstreet Boys and Five doing the haunted house video well before they thought of it and far better too, they are quite mistaken. The BSBs wouldn't even release this as a b-side. US5 do have quite an interesting background, however. They are the latest project from Lou Pearlman, who I'm sure you all know as the man behind the BSBs, NSync and the aforementioned O-Town, and this time he's cut to the chase and instead of sending an American band to Germany to exploit their insatiable appetite for boybands, he's combined two Americans with two Germans and, quite randomly, a British boy. Like O-Town again, the band were formed on a reality TV show, this one going by the name of Big In America. As far as I know, this is the first time a Brit has been involved in one of Lou's projects, but hopefully he doesn't think that will make them popular over here, because that would be quite a mistake.

From everything I've heard on Lou (from the US) he's not real popular here because he tried to take BSB and NSync for a ride

I have to admit that I have liked BSB.
Some of thier songs was good.

I liked them, too. Although they were a reason for a fight at my ninth birthday. Some of the girls were fans of BSB and some were fans of The Kellyfamily. I was more or less in the middle. I had been a fan of The Kellyfamily, but already thought about becoming a fan of the BSB.
Well, my guests splitted into two parties. The BSB-party stayed in my room, The Kellyfamily-fans in our living room. And then we had a fight in our livingroom. It was no nice borthday and maybe the reason for me to dislike my own birthdayparties. :?

"The FBI arrested globe-trotting music producer Lou Pearlman in Indonesia on Thursday, June 14th and flew him to Guam, his first stop on the way back to Orlando to face banks and investors who say he stole millions from them.

Pearlman, 52, is charged with one count of bank fraud, but over the next month, federal prosecutors are expected to seek significantly broader grand jury indictments.

The state has accused Pearlman of running one of the largest investment frauds in Florida history. He owes $317-million to 1, 800 investors and $160-million or more to banks. Federal prosecutors filed the bank fraud charge against him March 2, but it remained sealed while he was at large.

Pearlman was captured while staying at the Westin Resort at Nusa Dua, Bali, a tourist area with upscale hotels, an 18-hole golf course and a Western-style shopping center. The Westin is attached to a convention center and has three swimming pools and ocean views.

Although Indonesia has no formal extradition treaty with the United States, the Indonesian National Police-Bali worked with the FBI to take Pearlman into custody, and the country expelled him as "an undesirable visitor, " the FBI said.

Indonesian and FBI agents escorted Pearlman to Guam, the U.S. territory closest to Indonesia, where he will be in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service. Pearlman will have an initial hearing before a magistrate judge in Guam to determine whether he should continue to be held. He is expected to be brought back to Orlando for prosecution."

Iīm kind of disappointed that I didnīt get an answer to a buisness request Iīve sent to the management of US5. Itīs not that important, but I feel like NNS is not "important" enough to deserve an answer. I mean, it was a serious request and they didnīt even take their time to send me a short reply - although it would have been to let me know that they are not interested in a cooperation. I found out that US5 is getting 65.000 Euro for only one gig and maybe they just became too big to deal with "normal" people. Itīs a pity, cause the management should remember where US5 came from - it was only a bunch of young guys in Germany and the US who got casted to later form the band US5.
Iīm pretty much sure that the boys themselves would at least have taken their time to read my letter, but the management surely didnīt even forward it to them. Itīs the same all over the world.

    isnt this the Ochsenknecht-boy?

I love nearly all kinds of music. even if people don't speak the same language they can comunicate with it. I once was in a "language camp" and was the only german. most of the others were from Africa. And one girl of them fell in love with the music of the german band Die Pudhys though she didn't understand what they were singing. i even had to send her a copy of the CD by this band to Simbabwe. That's international understanding :D

But I don't really like modern Hip Hop. My favourite ones are celtic bands and singers and medieval music (cultus Ferox). Then I also love soundtracks, especially LOTR, PotC, King Arthur, Black Hawk Down, The last unicorn etc. It's a long list

Yep -thatīs Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht ... she also loved the movies "Die Wilden Kerle" - lol - because of the movie she got into soccer a bit, but it didnīt last long ... LOL (the soccer thing)

Itīs so funny to watch the young girls and boys getting into music and movies - reminds me of myself sometimes - lol. Milena is a lot like me! A bit different ... lol ... she loves the punk style and tells everybody that her mom was a punk when she was young

Keri went to a concert one time - can't think of the performer and came back saying he was singing about me - I said "oh really how so" She said he was singing "One Hot Mamma" - so that's how she sees me.

Please, watch this and tell me what you think! A good friend of mine did that video and I need especially the help of the European members to spread it and make it popular, cause they are planning on a Europe tour !!!!

Lost Tribe is a family of Native American artists from The Colville Indian Reservation in Washington State. They currently reside in Spokane, Wa. which is a small city on Indian land repossessed by the U.S. Government in violation of various treaties that were signed back in the day. Because of this, Spokane is surrounded by many Indian reservations including Colville, Spokane, Coeur d' Alene, Nez Perce, Kalispel, and Salish-Kootenai. This is Tha Lost Tribes first music video, and the directorial debu.

yes, I also love P!nk. she is very authentic and her lyrics are great. Lot's of her songs also fit in my life. like she's singing what I've been through.
