Mikory's blog
I like his blog exept for the picture of Agnetha with that awfull stalker guy. I have asked him to remove it out of respect for her. It's still there. What do you think should it be removed?

That depends actually on where the picture comes from. Since there's no nasty comment towards this affaire or towards Agnetha on Mikory's blog, I don't mind. After all, all the fans didn't want this to happen I guess.
But since Mikory is a member of this forum too, he might read this and give you a personal answer? ;)

Mikory has the right to display any picture he likes on his blog. You have the right not to visit his blog. These two facts protect everyones rights, so what's the problem?
I'm not fond of pictures of this guy either, so I don't view them, problem solved.
Mikory has a great blog BTW.

Out of respect for Agnetha I think the picture should be removed.

I'm afraid that it is up to the individual what pictures they post on their blogs or sites!!! I do agree that it is not a nice thought, Agnetha with him, butI'm sure Mikory means no disrespect to Agnetha , he has some fantastic pictures on his blog and i am a regular visitor!!! I agree with Bruce, the best thing is just dont look at the picture, or dont visit the blog!!

I have an Agnetha fansite and I would rather fall down drop dead than even mention the name of this wacko.
But Mikory has another approach. His claim is to publish ABBA related things from a more documentary point of view. And admit it or not, he has been one of the first with new pics and stories from the homelands more than once and in general we are quite thankful for it.
But I guess Mikory can comment by himself once he finds this thread.

If I would create a blog myself I would never, never publish this picture. I love the rest of this blog, no doubt about it.

This picture was taken by the mother of the stalker. She contacted dutch newspaper De Telegraaf to prove that they were in a relationship. They published the picture. Then it was published in many tabloits around the world.
Painful because it was sp private;.

Hi guys,
Mikory here! Thanks for your valid points. I just want to explain my decision to publish pictures like the one of the stalker.
Over the few years I have had this ABBA-Blog I have gotten 50-100 e-mails from people TELLING me that it's in bad taste to publish picutres of Frida's now deaceased husband, Ruzzo. Frida's daughter who tragically was killed, pictures of Stikkan Anderson, because he is dead. Pictures of Frida's German father, because the writer of the e-mail thinks that Frida doesn't like him. Etc etc.
First of all I don't like to have people telling me what I can or can't write about on MY blog. Secondly. as someone pointed out, parts of my goal with keeping this blog is the historic aspect of ABBA and its members. I think it will be valuable for new fans, and further music historians who by then only will have limited access to real interviews and just the music to "get to know" the four members a little more through (especially) the Swedish interviews they all did in their own languages.
I hope you keep reading. Thanks for your support. I hope you will keep reading.
Love,
Mikael :)

Mikory, thank you for your reply.
The picture of A. and her stalker can't be compared with a picture of frida's father or the other subjects you mention.
Secondly I don't see what this pictures contributes to the historic aspect of Abba or Agnetha.
I am sorry but I think it's disrespectfull towards her to have it on the site.

Lemmon your point is very very clear!
Mikory made his point very clear as well: it is *his* blog after all. He uploads the pics he wants and cannot delete all pics that people ask him to.

Great explanation Mikory, your totally right: it's your blog. And it makes part of ABBA's history indeed. People who don't want to see these pics don't have to visit your blog, but I do understand some people don't agree with this point of view. Keep your posts and pictures coming I would say.

Can someone please give this man a bucket?
I understand both Lemon and Johnny. I for one would never put a picture from Mona N. on my blog. This might hurt Frida
Just kidding. I think that everybody has to do with his site or blog whatever he likes (unless it is of course racist, terrorist etc) You can't expect him to remove every picture because some people think its disrespectful. Besides, what is disrespectful? Frida's husband and daughter once were very much alive. Taking away all their pictures, is like denying they ever lived.
Agnetha had/has a stalker and there is one picture of the two in happier times ( hard to believe ), just sitting on a couch, that's all.
If I were a huge Agnetha fan (which I am not, have to admit that) I would never post that on my website. I'd have the same reaction as Johhny had.
I for myself would also never put that one on my blog, because it's just a sad picture, and there are other places to look at this photo.
Mikory has a blog with ABBA news and old articles (one of the best sites around!) so leaving that picture out would actually mean censorship.

Thanks for all your replies and comments, it seems almost all of you understand what it is want to do with my blog. I want it to include as much as possible of the history of ABBA and the four members. Gert was part of Agnetha's life for approx two years and in the beginning it was a mutual attraction that made them become a couple.
Every life story has beautiful and not so beautiful things in them. I would definitely never published any pictures of the stalker if that was all that he was. Or someone who had subjected any of the ABBA members to violence, rape etc. This was just a love affair with a not so happy ending.
Thanks for understanding.
Love.
Mikael :)

I agree with Mikory. As distasteful as it might be, it's a part of ABBA history that can't be wiped away by just ignoring it. As it is, because most fan sites have done just this, it's very hard to find the truth these days (and it's only been a few years since it happened, it's not like it's ancient history). Recently I was trying to do some research on the story, and couldn't find anything aside from fan comments about the Behind The Blonde British TV programme and one copy of the photo of the two of them on the lounge, which had been copied and downgraded in quality so that it looked like it had been faked.

Great explanation Bonnie! Since Mikory's blog is about the history and especially news about ABBA, it's part of an articel. If It's a hard topic though, but I think we should all accept Mikory's decision, and decide for ourselves what the personal concequences are. At least I will stay a regular visitor of his blog.
But I still think it's a shame that guy comes from my country. Still wondering where he is living now, for some strange reason.

Anyone can post their own choice of pictures on THEIR blogs and sites without being TOLD (or asked...) what to post.
For that matter, I have seen loads of ABBA fansites in which the pictures of one member outnumbered to a great extent the ones of the rest of ABBA but I have never complained about it - it's the webmaster's business.
Having one of the most informative blogs on the web, I wish Mikory to continue updating it the way he wants it and posting every possible picture there is! 8)
I understand the frustration and anger regarding that picture but unfortunately it is part of Agnetha's life.. :(

Hi lemmon,
As Ron said, both sides of this issue have been explained well and are clearly understood. Many of us understand and sympathize with your concerns in respect to Agnetha. But it also is clear to me that you refuse to understand the "documentary" approach that Mikory takes with his blog.
Documenting the life of a famous person is an interesting dilemma. If only their public appearances are documented, many aspects of that famous persons life will be lost to history after they have gone. In the case of political figures, if this "hands off the personal" approach was applied many historical events would be misunderstood to subsequent generations.
Granted the life of a pop star is not the same as a political figure, but who makes the call whether a particular fact in a particular celebrities life should be documented or not? Is it me? Is it you? Is it the members of this forum? Censorship has had a negative affect throughout history causing great misunderstandings. I think it has to be left to the documentor themselves and history will judge them whether they made the correct call or not.
I begin to wonder how productive it is continuing to insist that he remove the picture, as it is clear that is not going to happen.
